The best bits here are Balan’s and bachchan’s speeches, the jodi award with the Auro dance and Javed Akhtar’s speech. But the Bachchan and Balan moments were really heart-warming because of the genuineness displayed in each case.
Aside: I continue to be impressed by Shahid Kapoor’s diction. He does speak Hindustani/Hindi/Urdu beautifully, and is ahead of virtually everyone else in his generation, and perhaps quite a few from preceding actor-generations too. He also doesn’t feel the need to switch to English as most of his peers do, which is something I envy…
Amitabh deservedly for PAA but also Amir Khan would have been good.
Rekhas face was just on Amitabh when he was giving speech.
It was nice of BIG B to mention vidhu vinod chopra and entire team for 3I…Amitabh at 67 “rocking”…
Nobody but AB deserved the award! For a man to take away every aspect that has made him THE Amitabh Bachchan is just beyond brilliant! Everytime I watch the scenes of Auro, I wonder, how did he do it???!!!

How surprising that you think the Bachchan moments were the best. (Aside from Akhtar.)
/sarcasm

Yes indeed how surprising that some of us continue to appreciate quality…

…or continue to indulge others with their biased viewpoints.
In any case, the awards were ‘fun’. Shahid seems more relaxed and confident than he’s ever been!

No not at all.. I’m sure some enjoyed SRK and Shahid talking about copying Bachchan more..

I love how the camera cut to Bipasha when Shahid described Katrina as “the best body”, as if they expected her to stand up and shout, “Hell no! I am.”

I liked how they gave Aamir the due credit
