  1. One gets immune to the hyper-advertising of the contemporary age. All the pretty faces (and bodies) stop registering beyond a point. But I must say these are some striking images, especially the top one here.

  2. deepika padukone is as bland as it gets..when it comes to magazine covers!! i think sonam kapoor is absolutely magical when it comes to still photo shoots..she is genuinely DIFFERENT in every shoot..her expressions,,her styling..she is the mag cover QUEEN 4 me!!rest all of dem look quite d same!

    Agree-looks good here.
    three points here–
a)shobha de wrote some intersing stuff about deepika padukone once-
dont agree entirely but its good fun-lol-ENJOY…
    http://shobhaade.blogspot.com/2008/08/missed-me.html
“If you ask me, MAXIM has got its ratings completely wrong. Deepika P IS THE ‘SEXIEST WOMAN ON EARTH?’ Are they kidding me? She would not win a Miss Dombivali contest – no figure, no sex appeal, no looks. I mean…. look at her closely. Go on… jawline? Too wide. Eyes? Bulging. Hair line? Untidy. Speech? Verni. Sure, she is graceful and can act reasonably well. But she ain’t hot! She is not MAXIM material. Plain and simple. It’s like Playboy bunnies and impressive chests.”
Not sure if I am being a bit snobbish here- but would like to agree a bit with “Speech? Verni. Rest of the criticism is a bit overboard.
but then shobha de is well…. shobha de..
By the way, i am suddenly scared that sm is lurking around for his/her “gossip alert”-lol
    b) deepika does seem to be followi, even copying some of ash moves (when she wass at a similar stage)
nothing wrong in follwowing something as good…
    c) she seems to be a bit undecided and somewhat lost right now, sp after the supposed breakup(s) with ranbir etc.
ohter than akshays hit rate, not sure what forced her to sign sajid khans multi heroine houefull. suspect farah khan who gave her a break, took er “pound of flesh” for her bro…

  4. deepika does seem to be followi, even copying some of ash moves (when she wass at a similar stage)

Why would you bring Ash into every context? Which actress doesn’t have breakups? Even in normal world, it became quite common., being in glamour field and with that kind of beauty no fuss. Leave them, they are leading normal life

  5. alex adams Says:

ted- this “following ash”bit is not in context to breakups- dont get fixted to the “breaup” part of the whole postit is trying to copy her moves, profile and career moves. u may not agree but it is my perception-so lets agree to disagree…
as for your kind advice of “Leave them, they are leading normal life”–lol.look whos talking.
are we the personal physicians or chartered accountants discussing our clients professionally.
we all are chatting about them (including yu and me) , so not sure what “leave them” mean here-lol.
by the was, are u another different person doubling up in a different name and having problems with gossip–hahaha-interesting stuff.

    • how exactly alex do u think is deepika following ash’s career moves?! plss..enlighten!!
nd i personally think dat ash at 36 still beats deepika at 24 when it comes to looks nd sheer grace!!

  6. If you are not personal physician, why do you talk non sense always in this forum? Gossip may be a hobby to you, disgusting to read same again and again…

  7. Two men fighting over Deepika? This would seem only natural!

Ted, don’t think Alex said anything out of order. Relax buddy!

  8. alex adams Says:

Was away for a while- seems ted is losing some sleep here over deepika!
    ted-teddy bear-take a chill pill…
I suggest do some yoga -maybe get shilpa shetty cds-lol
The mention of the word “breakup” seems to have triggered you. My sympathies for anything like that we dont know.
Dont think even deepika/ ash lost so much sleep over the “breakup”.
u remind us of another member who has disappeared at roughly the same time as u have appeared….lol

“and i personally think dat ash at 36 still beats deepika at 24 when it comes to looks nd sheer grace!!”-mansi, agree with u totally-infact she keeps getting better

  9. alex adams Says:

agree with satyam that the top pic is really good.
I think it is the way the (scalp) hair has been presented that does the trick in this pic…plus aesthetically shot
“Why would you bring Ash into every context? “- ted , next time , we shall ask for your esteemed permission to bring forth any idea, especially on the noble premise of commening on vogue covergirls-hahahaha

  10. jayshah Says:

The hairstyle makes the top cover…its kick ass…yummy

    • Glad to see she wore a sari (although, following on from mansi’s comment the other day, a Bollysari, and not the most elegant way to wear it), although bemused to see that the Hollywood tradition of tattooing one’s lover’s name has made its way to B’wood too. I suppose the eternal optimism of the heart (in thinking love is forever) is to blame :-)

      • i m just going bonkers as to wat.. d indian designers nd d media have really seen in deepika’s look to praise her so much here..sure neck up..she looks lovely but the saree in itself is a bit event – inappropriate nd she had draped it in d most tacky way..her saree pallu makes me cringe!!
d only thing dat i liked abt. deepika’s appearance was dat she seemed quite confident for a first timer..!!
p.s. nd i m all for “love forever” thingy but d tatoo screams wannabe..nd a girl should always stay away frm it..let d guys suffer d pain :)

  11. alex adams Says:

Did not find anyhting great in deepikas appearance or costume. i hink the media is just hyping up this “raivalry” bit as in the case of the earlier ash-sonam episode.
for me , ash is miles ahead (today and yesterday) in these things..no comarison.
however, ash is surely looking a bit plump and a fuller figure. maybe she is pregnant…

    • There is nothing in the rivalry. If anything Deepika has always been sold as the poor man’s (or woman’s) Ash. I think she’s ‘designing’ her career somewhat similarly as well. But there’s no comparison with any of the other actresses the media keeps throwing up either. Yes Ash is not the right age for a Hindi film actress. Having said that she pushes the boundaries every single year and more importantly she still has easily the best projects North or South (she’s not a regular Southern star obviously but who’s working with Rajni and Vikram, Rathnam and Shankar at one and the same time?!). Her iconic appeal for this new India is unique in many ways. But leaving this aside I do think Deepika looks great here. And I don’t believe Ash’s has been one of her better Cannes moments.

      • I agree with your analysis of Aishwarya’s career. She has blazed her own path whether it succeeded or failed and she should get credit for being courageous – definitely not cookie cutter.

The Indian media knows nothing about fashion. Aishwarya is being praised for her Cannes red carpet appearances on every international fashion and celebrity site I have seen. She was even voted best dressed on a few sites.

BTW, I find it ironic that the Indian media is praising Deepika for being there to promote a liquor brand Chivas.

        • guys..u dont even need to bring ash in here..i think she is in a different league altogether..!! she is a class apart!!
nd to be honest..fashion wise..ash has been d queen of d red carpet 4 me this year with all her 3 outings being unique nd extremely glam!! best year 4 her by a margin…

  12. Deepika Chali Amrika?

Deepika Padukone had several Hollywood agents vying for her attention at Cannes. Buzz is that Woody Allen would like to meet her

Deepika Padukone’s recent visit to the Cannes festival, her first major international appearance, caught the attention of none other than filmmaker Woody Allen.

Buzz is that the lissome actress, who looked resplendent in a Rohit Bal saree, was being coveted by several Hollywood agents at Cannes. A friend of Deepika says, “Many Hollywood agents sent her messages, directly and indirectly, that they would like to be appointed by her if she was keen on Hollywood assignments.”

It was one of these agents who texted her that Woody Allen would like to meet her.

Deepika was obviously thrilled. But she couldn’t extend her stay due to prior work commitments in India. “She couldn’t have a meeting with any of these agents,” adds Deepika’s friend.

Commenting on Deepika’s reaction to these offers, her friend adds, “It’s too early to say what will happen next. Deepika created quite a buzz at Cannes. If a concrete Hollywood offer comes along, well and good. She would definitely consider it.”

Seems like Deepika’s attractive looks and stunning saree was too good a combination to be missed by the swish Hollywood set.

The ongoing Cannes also saw the lovely actress keeping a promise she had made to herself as a starry-eyed teenager. Deepika had told a section of the media, “Long ago when I had started modelling,

I had promised myself that whenever I attend an international event, I’d wear a saree because I’d rather represent my country in the national costume than in western clothes. It felt good to be so Indian so far away from home.”

  13. Omg — we will get “spoilt”
    Lol
Btw what is this sort of dress called– can someone shed light lol
