Firstly, Devgan is ona roll with ATHITHI and ALL THE BEST…with both this and RAAJNEETI he has some big films.
Emraan is LEAGUES better than the Fardeens, Tusshars, Arjuns etc. I’d take his one performance in AWARAPAN collectively over what the 3 actors above have done in their entire careers …not much given the actors at hand, BUT still from FOOTPATH to now, I think Hashmi has come a LONG way….and people are still WAY too harsh on him.
Between RAAJNEETI, RAAVAN, RATRA CHARITRA and now ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI……IM HYPED _!!!!! My kinda year….
actually looking good…i liked the background score a ton…the retro looks work…if all the best parts of the movie are not contained in the trailer(how many times have we not seen that), this maybe quite alright.
Like this latest trailer.. looks like a lot of decadent fun! However Hashmi is still a big problem for me.. should have had someone more serious to match Devgan.
…although, lol at Hashmi’s mis-pronunciation of “raakh” in the 1:00 “Teaser”; he evidently thinks the “kh” sound is the Urdu guttural “kha” (as in “Khalid”) and is over-compensating — but in fact, raakh has the Hindi “kha” sound…
[That actually reminds me of AR Rahman's vocals in the "Rehna Tu" (Delhi-6) song: he pronounces "khurduraa" the same way, i.e. as if it had the Urdu/Arabic guttural "kha", whereas, as far as I know, "khurduraa" also has the Hindi "kha" sound. Am less sure about this one but still, pretty confident...]
feel ajay devgun seems to have a chance to better his all-time best performance -Company(till now, strictly IMHO).
always found luthria an interesting maker.
he has a nice music sense as well -except handing over the music reins of new deewar to aadesh…
emraan kissathons distract from his intensity which is his strength..
Not a bad actor (in a limited range) if one can tolerate his face–lol
Its only in india that a guy on the MOST WANTED list of criminals, opely operating froma neighbouring country, wrecking further havoc—-has an entire film to glorify him
and has noce compositions like Pee loon to serve as a backdrop to cavorting with nubile gals onscreen and unbutton their tops….
and people lap it up and applaud….
that y india is…
agree with Alex Adams completely…this movie could be a masterpiece but still won’t make it to my viewing list. Surprisingly (or may be not), it hasnt raised hackles of the Shiv Sena or MNS types
the other thing i noticed is—how damn expressive is that girl opposite hush-mi in the song “pee loon” .
she has really used her eyes to good effect!
another illustration of how an average singer (mohit chauhan) is making the best use of his ( limited ) vocal resources to come up with another v effective rendition.
also his voice seems to suit todays milieu….
a related point i made elsewhere on a another thread about how supreme singers like SPB are now appearing (out) dated…

Looks like a lot of fun in a certain typical (for the genre) sort of way. Like some of the retro touches here.

Yeah this is probably worth a watch..

Stop acting like you don’t like Awarapan.

Love the latest trailer, despite the over-use of the “In an age of…. Rewind to…” schema. Does seem like great fun.

Emraan is a fine performer. But somehow I find him inconsistent.

I might catch this one purely on the merit of its atmosphere.
