Rooney’s Razzies!

note: hey friends, like each year there are good movies and then there are bad movies.. so lets me choose my choices for this year, it doesnt mean u agree with them, so u can place ur own list below agreeing or disagreeing. Mostly m dealing with movies.. actors.. directors.. not much of a technical guy.. so u can say abt that if u want too.. ( movies not seen include tmk, guzaarish, from biggies.. so wont comment on them.. and if they are more bad… this post would be updated. thnx. ) and yeah any kind of personal attack or abuses would be deleted .. stick to the movies and performances. i have always believed big stars have big responsibilities … as when u hype ur movie u should atleast be certain on ur movies.

RAZZIE DIRECTION : KARAN JOHAR

MY NAME IS KHAN.

Promo- When was the last time u saw india’s most popular superstar come on television and announce that you could see first look of his epic new movie on particular date at night 9.. abt extraordinary story of a man. ?

Through out the making tall claims where made.. and to be honest i have bit liking for Karan Johar’s Cinema K3G remains a firm favourite. Talk, about inspirational story ala forrest gump, meeting with president of USA.. etc where talked about.. so naturally it was most awaited movie of the year.

The first promo barring first 30 seconds had a tremendous impact, i was sold.. i wanted to see this movie.. especially that bus shot.. that night shot.. and that incredible background score.. making u feel it would be journey of a life time.

What Happened : Well to be blunt it was most disappointing movie of the year, a film carrying amazing shah rukh performance ( he even won NG award for acting i guess ) but who had thought the movie would suffer so much because of the director whose ambitions where to conquer the world alas all his dream of a great movie where murder by pathetic story and love story.

Through Out Promotion it was argued it would be different and bold movie, then what was the need of Love story? Food for thought- couldnt khan just be ordinary american citizen (ofcourse with all that genius background ) and had married a simple women.. with out all hulla bulla of Kajol.. and with simple and noble narration of his religion would have been way more sincere and effective.. and would have given credit to the movie..

cant forget the scene of Katrina.. which was surely return by a boy who dreams of superman.. khan.. who can reach where Red cross and American Military cant!! but hey did i forget we shall overcome??

Kajol track was entirely unnecessary or was handled in kiddish direction manner of KKHH that one forgets seriousness of a movie.. but if that wasnt enough one only has to look at death of that Kid by football ( @sputnik had a good conversation with you, but dude.. i entirely agree u might be true.. but the way its shown its entirely unconvincing for football player to believe that.. we still laugh abt it.. on playground!! )

Direction includes narration and emotions but this one earns points on neither counts, and one really wonders how did the great superstar approve of such direction! The scenes which should be serious where funny.. especially the meeting with president..

All in all the Razzie of the year in direction goes to Karan Johar.

RAZZIE MOVIE: KHATTA MEETHA

CAN there be more crappy movie out there? one as a audience just cant think and wonder.

Khatta Meetha is a movie deserving negative ratings! and action replay isnt far behind. Its a mix of outdated concept and pathetic direction and misplaced storyline. when was last time one had comedy scene right after some1 had died?

its a movie that lead to lose most of respect for starcast of this movie.. as selling this one to audience is nothing but cheating.

RAZZIE ACTOR:

AKSHAY KUMAR (ACTION REPLAY) AND (HOUSEFUL)

I just happened to see a movie called weatherman recently, and its a story of a man who has messed his life.. it shows all such thing emotions expression in subtle but witty manner. If only mr kumar could have taken lesson and atleast toned down his buffoon act in both above ventures.

He simply overplays to extent to irritate you, bollywood actors are not required perfect acting, but emotional connect is tremendous requirement even though movie is comic.

ABHISEKH BACHCHAN (RAAVAN)

WHEN was last time a movie’s failure was so much direct proportional to criticism of lead actor? it has to be one of the most crappy performance of the year in my eyes, (i have gone through GF’S AND SATYAM’S marvelous review of this beautiful film.. but would disagree with their reasons on his acting, if i am not wrong gf mentioned a particular style. now to be frank i lack that much exposure to films and acting.. but i would simply state Beera the invincible lost all his impact when ever a dialogues was pronounced or chik chik chik was uttered)

Beera’s a legend during first few views of observing him in the epic boat kidnapping scene.. one knows one has seen the GOD HIMSELF.. or u can say DEVIL.. depends on whise side you are.. in simple terms u are in Beeras world. But as soon as proceeding go further one is sincerely disappointed that this was the performance (as i would clearly rate GURU performance as my top 3 acting performances of decade).

Clealry state by BIG B on his blog character required more explanation and time.. and simply placed i guess abhisekh was out of depth.

Personally its harsh, as very few actors would attempt it.. but full kudos for himto tryhing whereas we have people making houseful, km, action replay. (i havent seen tmk)

But still one cant leave but only blame abhisekh for this epic failure, though i feel director might be party.. but hey for the same role VIKRAM has got praise through out.

The acting clearly failed the magical BEERA.. CREATED BY MANI SIR, AND TECHNICAL TEAM..

RAZZIE ACTRESS

Kajol (my Name is Khan)

an unrequired character, given to possibly one of the best indian actresses .. and one might wondered she might have devoloped it what we got : sceezzzzzz

everytime she came on screen it was plain irritating, a movie which had Shah Rukh’s most subtle and engaging performance gives kajol’s worst performance of her career.

Simply put MNIK without kajol and hurricane and President scene was a decent affair.. but sadly that takes away more than 75 % of the movie and its motivation.

The role could have been better portrayed by Tabu or a new comer i guess.. but surely Kajol was too irritating. With kajol u also give her more screen space.. which was actually not required a mjor flaw in script.. and major dud from Kajol.

WE ARE FAMILY – SAME REASONS AS ABOVE.. TO IRRITATING.. kicking any subtlety in the world out of window! especially when one has seen the original!

WITH HOUSEFUL, KM, AR, AND TMK (HAVENT seen tmk, added on basis of wom and collections).. only one winner.. who time and again promised to disappoint his audience.. THE BIGGEST CON IN WORLD.. IN DISAPPOINTMENT AND DELIVERING TURKEYS.. AKSHAY KUMAR.

its a shame being his big admirer that one has to witness this.. but we hope like all great actor he can bounce back. But its funny how one can promote four crap movies in a same year.. and ask his audience to come and again give a chance to him.. without any apologies.. surely he’s lucky to have his fans and admirers .. and director backing him.
