Instead of expensive perfumes, hot house flowers, expensive watches, candlelight dinners, here’s a good old song full of sher-o-shairi.
Very poetic. Lovely lyrics, and very romantic. So if it drags a bit for modern tastes these afore mentioned qualities should make up for it, I think.
There is the female version as well.

There are innumerable old love songs in *black and white*, very melodious and top class, its an impossible task to pick one.
So I’m just linking the one from a film I saw last, called Maya with a very young and handsome Dev Anand with a very pretty Mala Sinha.
The song is set to exquisite music by Salil Chaudhary.

If life is a big canvas
Love paints it with colors
Time fades the colors
Leaving memories and spots of color.
But the saga goes on
As fresh lives blossom
Time accepts defeat
While love colors nonchalantly.

got this in mail:
14-02-1931 : it was also the day when bhagat singh, chandrashekhar azad and raj guru where hanged
indians really have short memory and it hardly matters to youth now
February 15, 2011 at 7:00 AM
No. it is pure misinformation spread by mischief mongers. The actual date is 23rd March 1931.
By the way, is it not better to remember happy days instead of mourning days in these days of stress and depression?
