Ah the sweet wonders of photoshop But I actually don’t mind.
I really hope he looks like this during all of his screen time with her and not just on the poster. I will be nauseated if I see a geriatric, pot-bellied Rajni romancing Deepu. His onscreen pairing with Ash in Robot was the most visually mismatched coupling I’ve seen.

fully agree here – in fact, i had a serious problem with the movie itself – although liked rajni but the movie was anything but engaging – songs were terribly placed and hindi dubbing was sick…
On the flip side, heroines do get the luxury of letting photoshop edit their flab: Anushka Sharma who is very, very thin has been told by YRF to lose weight in keeping with her contract which specifies the BMI she should maintian.
I am appalled, but not surprised. It’s a shame because she’s as flab-free as possible, and very tall, so losing more weight will just make her look sick.
I think it is a little sad to see Rajini paired with Deepika.
I was OK with Ash. It still rankled but the age difference is a little less.
With Ash-Rajini it was like – and I will quote a Gujju phrase here for Abzee- a case of Kago dahintharun layi gayo!
Rajinikanth’s Rana changes form to become like Big B’s 1983 hit

Rajinikanth’s post-illness film Rana, will now be projected in the same way as the Big B’s Coolie a film where the super-hero conquers death.
This has an uncanny resemblance to the Big B’s classic Coolie. On 26 July 1982, Bachchan had a near-fatal accident while shooting for the film. After two months in the hospital, he returned to the sets. And now, it’s the Tamil superstar’s turn. According to sources, the Coolie-Rana parallel will run deeper still.
After his recovery Bachchan’s character in Coolie had not died as per the script. In Rana too, all three characters to be played by Rajini will now live, although one of them was supposed to die.
Says a source, “His fans want him to live even in his films. All these modifications and changes in the script are now being worked out.”
The superstar, meanwhile is recovering in Singapore and has started doing power-yoga every morning. He is expected to be back on his feet in a month. Though this may come as a great piece of news for Rajini lovers, on the flip side, it is unlikely that the superstar would be able to do all the mindblowing stunts that he had been planned for Rana.
The various action scenes that were written for the actor will now be modified or done entirely by a body-double. Even Robot 2 which Shankar is planning at this very minute, now stands terminated until further notice.
According to a source, “Rajini will definitely return to acting in September. But he won’t be allowed any more stunts. When Dhanush expressed caution about the superstar’s future in films he was being honest and realistic.
MUMBAI: Rajnikanth’s heroine issues in his triple-role adventure saga Rana seem to be never ending. After Rekha, it’s Hema Malini who is in two minds about doing the film. The reason for Hema’s uncertainty about the part is her spoken Tamil.
The veteran actress tells Businessofcinema.com, “Of course I speak fluent Tamil but it is a very different Brahminical Tamil from the colloquial language spoken by the masses.”
Hema realized how inadequate her colloquial Tamil was when she lately went campaigning for her party in Tamil Nadu. “I found it very difficult to speak the colloquial Tamil at the rallies. I speak a different kind of Tamil and I’ll have to unlearn my own Tamil and become conversant with the other kind Tamil.”
This is precisely why Hema has put Rajni and Rana on hold.
Apparently there are feelers and anxious calls almost every day from Chennai asking if Hema has finally decided to do the role. According to sources close to the actress, it is almost embarrassing to be asked by such a looming legend so many times. But unless Hema is a sure about being able to carry off the colloquial Tamil dialogues she won’t relent.
Laughs Hema, “I haven’t yet said yes to the project. Rajni is a very dear friend. I did Andha Kanoon with him many years ago in Hindi where he played my brother. But we haven’t done any Tamil films together.”
The mega project of Superstar Rajinikanth Rana has been dropped. Rajinikanth met up with director KS Ravikumar at the latter’s office and after a two-hour discussion the duo decided to drop the project on grounds that the movie will take one and a half years to complete and requires immense efforts which the actor is unable to provide at this point of time.
Moreover, Rajini has also offered a new script to KS Ravikumar which is on lines of Muthu and Padayappa, earlier releases of the Superstar. The new project may commence from January it is expected. An official confirmation in this regard will be out shortly.
It may be mentioned here that Rajinikanth developed health complications during the pooja of Rana and was later flown to Singapore for treatment.

That is extremely sad. She is absolutely fine the way she is to make her lose more weight is criminal.

my…she (A.S) is sooooooo skinny…almost anoroxic…same as deepika…too thin….yuk.
I like actresses like the one in Titanic….full figure….hmmm.
They say screen adds 10 lbs to body and that camera loves thin(ess)…so no wonder.
It is hard to be “ideal”. Either we have too skinny or too chubby ones.

Ofcourse unless ofcourse if you resort to plastic surgery like Shilpa and co.
