  1. I am happy that here atleast Talaash is the clear winner.

    • Same here. But I doubt if it will win even once, in the popular award shows.

      • masterpraz Says:

Agree. TALAASH goes beyond the BO in terms of it’s WOM, and is a big hit in terms of viewage outside of the big screen (e.g dvd, online viewing etc).

      • masterpraz Says:

I doubt any Indian award show will give TALAASH any sort of recognition (maybe in the “critics” or whatever awards) but that might be left for GOW. I think from the India media perspective the film is viewed more or less as a letdown because of the 100 cr fallacy.

        • There is a very active anti aamir lobby among the film fraternity and they will see to it that Talaash will not get any significant awards.
OTT. There is this lady journalist who was once a fan of Aamir khan. suddenly she turned against him and she is not missing any opportunity to criticise him, his latest movie and comparing him unfavourably with his rivals. I wonder what happened? Did aamir ignore her, rude to her? Real fans will not turn against. They may not like his movie but the way she writes, one can definitely read between the lines. She literally gloated over the fact that Talaash is ignored.

          • “There is this lady journalist who was once a fan of Aamir khan. suddenly she turned against him and she is not missing any opportunity to criticise him, his latest movie and comparing him unfavourably with his rivals. I wonder what happened? Did aamir ignore her, rude to her?”

are you talking abt sandy? :-)
well she for sure has developed a slight dislike for aamir :-)

          • Slight? Its more than that.
It is better not to have too many expectations from stars or not to go too near them. It is better to admire them from far. Just like we admire those stars.

          • I am not sure what is so tough to understand- a person has all the right to ‘dislike’ any film. He/she can also can criticise any film provided there is some logic behind that criticism. Finally as good as Talaash was it was not a masterpiece (not that masterpieces are not criticised) by any means. I for one did not think it was Awaara or Deewaar or even Lagaan

          • It happened many times in the past and will happen always. One journalist had a fallout with Amitabh and he went to SRK camp and started his criticism against amitabh’s movies in an agenda driven way.

another journalist went with her scripts and approached some stars and she took it out on them.

Disliking leads to hatred. And with the power of pen, journalists can definitely do harm in some way.

          • Devyani chaubal, Shobhaa de, Nishi Prem. The list is endless. All have fallouts with stars and starlets.

  2. Who gave Joker 2 votes???

  3. Shocking, probably one of the worst movie, of 2012, and a forgettable movie.

But all this gives me impetus to revisit the Talaash.

I guess one can be wrong sometimes, hoping i belong to same cadre, but as of now i am clear it was a disappointing movie.

  4. don get me wrong–talaash was a good film with an even better performance by aamir–but dont think it was the ‘best’ film of the year!
English vinglish was a more coherent honest film…
Havent seen them but all/some of GOW/kahaani/PST were better..

Nice to see cock-tale getting some votes–3!! yaiy–wasnt the best but was enjoyable

seems besides me, the two other ‘co-stars’ in the spoof voted for it :-)

  5. Those saying Talaash WOM will be great in viewing of DVD’s and other stuff…
Lets see What TRP it gains on its TV premier…

Just can’t believe some intellectuals praising Talaash while bashing MKBKM just Bcoz Imran is not as popular with intellectuals as aamir is..!!

  6. a v good point ank–also point to note is–
how many of those finding talaash the best film would have voted for it had there been anyone other than aamir in the lead..
“Just can’t believe some intellectuals praising Talaash while bashing MKBKM “–agree–VBs work was/is at a different level from kagti
Sanju–yeah kagti deserves encouragement and credit but not the ‘best’ tag–she has a lot to learn..
just read some comments above–dont minf dr shaurya not liking it–atleast he gave it a chance, it depends on ones taste..
Also perhaps some folks were expecting more of the ‘pond entry’ anushka scenes–the makers gave false signalling there…
Its the ‘discerning lot’ that cry foul @ every rowdy/dabang/ett spewing up big numbers ( i enjoy even those films for all their worth), praising the virtues of ‘different’ cinema in lengthy posts and then suddenly withdraw their patronisation where it matters—is what bites the likes of VB, kashyap, dhulia etc

After all this, they cant /shouldtn blame adityas, salmans, rohit shettys even sajid khans to come up with what they do!
after all, none of them are in the charity business ! :-)

    • If u see the Critics these Intellectuals believe in gave 4 stars to MKBKM(Raja sen and Rajeev masand) still they are ignoring them bcoz it doesn’t star Aamir..!!

  7. Bachchan1 to 10 Says:

There is a lot of talk here about Talaash being ignored at all the popular award shows, True, But Aamir Khan (when he produces) never submits his films for any kind of award shows for the past 10 years if I am not wrong, He did that for all his films that he has produced, Also, Few years ago when he was nominated for Best Actor for one of his movies, He had asked the award shows to take his name off the list, Thats why you will never see him competing even in Best actor category regardless of him producing hte movie or not. Wise choice I say, with the way these awards functions.

  8. chittagong received just ONE vote? c’mon now….

maybe people should see the movie?…lol
