Khoon Bhari Mang for me.

Though in a minority here, King Uncle does it for me. 2nd would be Khudgarz.

I voted for Krrish- one of my fave films of the past decade though I love Koyla as well
Kash, I must say that I find King Uncle his worst by a margin. Having said that I have a weakness for the cheesy but effective ‘climax in the theme park’

I dunno Saurabh, If you find Krissh and Koyla superior to King Uncle then I really dont know what to say. Just the dialogues from King Uncle are worth more than the entire 2 of these films IMHO.
Just one of them “Yeh aisa ghar hai jahaan sirf mausam badalte hai KISMAT nahi” And paresh in this one is mindblowing. Yea, it maybe cheezy but relevant at that point in time. Koyla as a film I found it TOO LOUD (given that the man was mute). Krissh, less said the better. I find Honeymoon Travels better superhero flick than Krish..(No offense buddy, sorry if I did)

KHOON BHARI MAANG one my favorite amd also like KARAN ARJUN ,KOI MIL GAYA.

My fav is KRISHH 6..where Hrehaan and Hridaan fight the eternal battle of good versus evil; the villian is Hrithik Roshan – they are fighting with him to determine why none of his sons got that extra ‘thumb’ from him..
ACTUAL TITLE of the film –
KRISHH 6 and the mystery of the missing thumb..
February 1, 2013 at 5:24 PM
Thanks for the laugh of the day
February 1, 2013 at 6:26 PM
Haha agree–that Ann jo quote is hilarious
Lol @ ‘extra thumb’
Btw didn’t know hritik has produced a second kid as well (& with his own wife)–that explains the fewer films ..
Ps– Ann — pleez see race2– your anil kapoor character (as per my spoof) delivers some ace one-liners & gets to cavort with Ameesha …
ok I will give u a toffee –watch it

Khel was fun. Quite an entertaining movie.
February 1, 2013 at 4:39 PM
Khel by far is his most entertaining film. though its somehwat inspired from DRS.
February 1, 2013 at 7:27 PM
It is completely lifted from DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS..But agree that KHEL was superbly entertaining for the ’90s..And Madhuri with her comic talent was outstanding..especially the scene where she ‘converts’ her cabaret to a bhajan!!!
Ah I miss Madhuri..now that’s called a woman of captivating expressions..
February 1, 2013 at 11:39 PM
This is the original cabaret song with lusty/naughty expressions/moves by Madhuri:
& this is her transformation of the song from a night-club one to a bhajan!!
No wonder Sonam’s dad is stunned..

saw it just a few months back i think and yea, really really enjoyed it. ha, the food fight at the end – mala sinha was having a blast! shame she’s not acted since.
February 1, 2013 at 8:18 PM
Khel will be my choice…
February 1, 2013 at 10:05 PM
my choice will be Khudgarz – for one: this song was my fav. for many months after the movie –

If Rakesh Roshan had not a son called Hrithik with goodlooks, the father would have produced better movies, Unfortunately he is now obsessed with his starson and he cant look beyond him. Hrithik’s gain is industry’s loss.

i respect ur opinion but there is nothing wrong with HR. In fact he is a superstar material (many on this blog wud not like this
) but industry has not lost out anything and they’ve got a fantastic Greek God who is slowly but surely going up towards the dizzy heights. If you have ignored HR’s acting skills – take this song “Udi ..” from guzaarish and while ash is dancing – check out HR’s expressions…..(he plays a paralayzed person in the film as u might already know)
February 1, 2013 at 10:50 PM
I know many love and like HR. But HR bores me no end. He is too perfect than the so called perfectionist. No controversies, ideal beta and husband. Acts ok, media loves him. I just cant understand why cant Rakesh roshan make normal movies when it comes to his son. Does he see his son as a cartoon character? I prefer Rakesh roshan in his younger days as a romantic hero.

I just realised that the title of this post is “What’s your favorite Rakesh Roshan movie?” well – that doesn’t specify actor/producer/director – so Kaamchor must be included in this list – it was a v. good film with RR as an actor with this gem of a song:
February 2, 2013 at 9:39 AM
RR has acted in 87 films!!!

February 2, 2013 at 9:57 PM
Some of his heroines. tine Munim, Rekha, Jayaprada, Hema Malini, Smita Patil, Jayaprada. Any others?
February 2, 2013 at 6:44 PM
i ‘m one of the very few people that really liked “koyla”. its underrated, i feel.
February 2, 2013 at 8:41 PM
RR has extremely good sense of popular music and almost all his films (directoral) have at-least one catchy/soothing no. Koyla had this one:
February 2, 2013 at 8:44 PM
madhuri with natural assets is so very beautiful – why RR chose to show her with those enlarged breasts in this song (it is clearly visible and laughable) but MD being MD – when the camera rolles over to her face – she makes us forget everything else..

not to forget:

Kishan Kanhiyaa was one and only fav Rakesh Roshan movie of mine .. specially its music. Kaho Na Pyaar Hai was worst. And rest were plain average or below. I never found his movies interesting enough .. I fell asleep during KNPH show, a very rare event of my cinema outings.
February 3, 2013 at 7:00 PM
somehow i liked knph so much i watched it twice when it released! how our tastes change with time…

My absolute favourite has to be KHOON BHARI MAANG followed by KAALA BAZAAR! KAALA BAZAAR was a remarkable film for it’s time and touched on some core issues, but unfortunately, it was also not something people were in the mood for. Kader Khan was a one man show here and he was simply terrific. Rakesh Roshan to be is one of the last masala directors who is truly aware of large parts of the cultural legacy of Bombay cinema. Sadly, Rakesh Roshan and Bachchan never got to work together in his absolute peak and I somehow don’t think this will happen again anytime soon with the KRRISH franchise. In saying that, it would be interesting to see Rakesh Roshan sign SRK again too (I enjoyed KOYLA a lot).
Will be interesting to see what KRRISH 2 comes up with in the superhero genre…
