Guide
Paying Guest
Asli Naqli
Jewel Thief
Love Marriage
Maya
Kala Bazaar
Hum Dono
Teen Devian
I’ve not actually seen a single Dev film from after 1968! (Which is probably not a bad thing). Though i do want to check out Tere Mere Sapne and Prem Pujaari.
Other films of his that I need to see are:
Munimji
Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai
Faraar
Funtoosh
Nau Do Gyaarah
House Number 44
Manzil
Bombai Ka Babu
Listing his songs is an impossible task. All of the above have great songs, not to forget films like CID, Nirala, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Baat Ek Raat Ki, Solva Saal, Amardeep, Jaal, Baazi…these all have wicked songs too.

after 1968 his three essential films are Johnny Mera Naam, Hare Rama Hare Krishna and Tere Mere Sapne. A few other passable ones in there but these three cannot be missed.

Tere Ghar Ke Samne is a very light and breezy film and has my fav songs. I do like the Dev Nutan chemistry which is fun .
Prem Pujari is a movie which I always watch for the songs – I beleive they were written by Neeraj

Thanks for all these wonderful magazine covers of Dev Anand, Satyam. He certainly was one of a kind. My favorite of the legendary trio.
PS. From the “Current Viewing” blog roll, I see that you’ve been watching some interesting films. Hope you share your thoughts on them at some point – especially the Bengali films and “Ek Bar Kaho” which is my favorite Hindi attempt at “An Affair To Remember.”

On the Bengali films some comments here:
these just provide a ‘sense’.. far too many to review individually.. the ‘current viewing’ to be honest is just a fraction of what I end up watching one way or the other.. but yes the tradition these Bengali films represent is truly one of India’s finest.. and arguably the ‘best’ commercial one for that two decade period from the early 50s through the early 70s.
Was surprised with that plot development in Ek Baar Kaho which was indeed like an Affair to Remember though otherwise the film was completely different, unlike Mann.
