Rajesh Khanna has been battling ill health for quite some time now, and according to latest reports, the former matinee idol’s condition may have worsened. What is heartening to see however, is that in the autumnal star’s hour of need, his family and friends are busy rallying around him, giving him all the love and attention he requires.
A close friend of the actor told Mirror, “He is hardly eating. People around him are pushing him to eat. He has gone extremely weak. Doctors are attending to him every day.”
The friend revealed that Dimple Kapadia, who had separated from the star in 1984, has been by his side all through his illness. She visits him at Ashirwad, his bungalow on Carter Road, every day, to tend to him.
The bungalow was being renovated for years, but since April this year, Khanna has been spending more time at the address from his heydays. “Dimple arrives at Kakaji’s (as Khanna is fondly called) place around 1.30 pm and does not leave before 10 pm. It is physically daunting for Dimple, but it is clear she still cares for Rajesh a lot,” said the friend.
And he is also very warm and receptive toward her. Recently, he even gifted his daughter Rinke Khanna a BMW. “Actually, he purchased the car from his recent earning for the TV commercial he shot. It was a very sweet gesture,” said the friend.
Word is Rinke is expected to fly down from Kolkata in a day or two to be with the family. Meanwhile, daughter Twinkle, who is now six-and-a-half months pregnant with her second baby, son-in-law Akshay Kumar and grandson Aarav have been offering fervent prayers at a gurudwara in the western suburbs for Khanna’s recovery.
Mirror readers may recall how ill health not with standing, the superstar of the 70s had taken time out to return to the screen, if only for a brief television commercial shot by adman-turned-filmmaker R Balki. And even though he was only a shadow of his former self, it was a memorable experience for all concerned, not to mention the icon’s countless fans.

Tony, OT but what do u think of Michael Mann and his films- The guy has a very unique hi-def audio-visual style and the pace of his narrative never drops- Also i love the way the leads in almost all his films are in moral dilemmas. I have not seen his Thief and Manhunter but i am quite a fan of his Last of The Mohicans, Heat, Miami Vice and Public Enemies

Well i will suggest u should first see Heat- De Niro and Al Pacino at their best. They just have one scene together but it’s not to be missed. And then u should go for Public Enemies- Depp and Bale are in fine form. My personal favs though are Mohicans and Miami Vice. And if u wanna see Cruise play a kick-ass villain, then go for Collateral (which was ripped off scene to scene in Irrfan and Emraan starrer The Killer)

Here’s a fan vid showing Dimple, Twinkle and Akshay in ‘Aashirwad’ with Kaka’s Man Friday, Bhupesh Raseen. And Kaka 🙂 Energetically doing the ‘V’ sign! Twinkle looks lovely (rare sighting in her current pregnant avtaar) and Akshay comes across as very endearing in his interaction with the media.

Yesteryear superstar Rajesh Khann was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital on Saturday evening due to weakness, a week after being released from there, sources close to him said.
“He is in the hospital,” a source told PTI.
Sources close to the actor said that he was shifted to the hospital due to weakness. Khanna’s estranged wife Dimple Kapadia and daughter Rinkie are with him.
Earlier, on June 20, it was reported that Khanna had stopped taking food. But the next day, he emerged at the balcony of his home and waved to his fans.
Soon after that, on June 23, he had to be admitted to the hospital due to exhaustion and weakness. He was discharged on July 8.
In April, he was admitted to Lilavati Hospital for three-four days after he complained of uneasiness and exhaustion.
Khanna had recently appeared in his first TV advertisement for Havell’s fan, directed by R Balki.
