On one hand, Karan loves to talk about quality cinema like The Lunchbox and Ship of Theseus, and then goes ahead makes movies like this one and SOTY. Quite strange.
Karan and SRK are of the same breed. Karan talks about intending to do movies like The Lunchbox and then he goes on to produce crap like Gori Tere Pyar Mein. And SRK was once saying that his production house ‘Dreamz Unlimited’ will one day “be bigger than Spielberg’s Dreamworks”, And then he went on to produce ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hain Hindustani’ and ‘Asoka’!
Oh look! They are all covered up. At least they had the sense to do that instead of showing filmi type villagers.
I like the premise of the film. No harm in putting forth a good point with fluff. This is the only film whose p****ed version I’m looking forward to watching (since there’s no other way).
A Kareena/Imraan combination comes with the assurance of a female lead with some importance.
So while Ram Leela’s songs and their picturisation is much better, I fear the rest of the stuff is going to involve a decorative heroine (made to look important, because it’s Deepika, who I like) and a macho Ranveer, plus a lot of posturing.
I wouldn’t mind if it’s anything like HDDCS though.
“This is the only film whose p****ed version I’m looking forward to watching (since there’s no other way).”– shhh..
Actually agree– this seems fun stuff and this ‘chingam’ song has a groovy addictive rhythm –OG do check it out both the song and ‘chingam’ – did u like them 😉
>So while Ram Leela’s songs and their picturisation is much better,
I think the songs here look more rustic, as it’s meant to be while in Ram Leela I’m not sure whether it’s a small town or a village.
And the music is certainly not bad.
Personally, more marks to this film from my side based on trailers.
This looks really shite. Imran is still very raw as an actor. As for Kareena, the less said the better. It will probably do the kind of business EK Main Aur Ek Tu did.
This is so much more refreshing than that stale ‘ Love Ki Ghanti’ from Besharam. You cannot just repeat the same crap from 70’s or 80s. You have to give it a new, contemporary spin. ( Like the Saree fall song from R..Rajkumar does.)
LOL! You never cease to amuse, even if unintentionally! I am sure that the director himself will be shocked to hear that somebody finds his incredibly stale, cliched and trashy nightclub song to be refreshing, contemporary and new! 😛
Hehe Amy– will check this ‘gorilla tere pyaar mein’ song later tomorrow maybe, but note how utkal uncle takes out his deep angst on besharam without context. Now every time he does it, a besharam song will be thrown at him 🙂
Btw people here have(probably rightly) pointed out pallavi is not ‘leggy’ and not ‘gorgeous’ but my wierd taste finds her interesting. Dunno why…Check out this montage…maybe those with good taste like amy & og may agree..
LOL Saree Fall is some thing refreshing now? While you always dis rowdy rathore on every front. See here, how saree fall is so similar to rowdy rathore –
Songs of GTPM are much much beteer than K3’s.
They are lively and catchy and good (as far as the standards of music go today).
Really looking forward to it.
Yeah maggie — agree there…
As Oldgold says the songs are peppy & not bad–
But the Kareena –Imran pairing is more than a mismatch—physically, mentally, sexually and every which way…
Ps: what did u think of the hritik-ash combo in dhoom2…
Now Hrithik-Ash make more sense …cant explain why..screen presence and all that I suppose…even in Akbar it was great…but Kareena and Imran..just doesnt work…seriously..

@ maggie—the title ‘gori tere pyaar mein’ is quite apt 😉
Btw apparently Kareena has the best ‘backside’ in Bollywood ?
