  4. original devdas before dilip kumar

  5. a pretty sad week where both paro(suchitra sen) and now dev disappeared

    what an irony

  6. Jagame maya, brathuke maya. The world is an illusion, life is an illusion. The legendary singer ghantashala sang for ANR.

    Famous telugu devdas song.

Many bengali novels, mostly by Sarat Chandra were made into movies and ANR starred in most of them. Those bengali novels used to be translated into telugu and they used to appear in weeklies and monthlies.

His heroines were many but Savitri and Jamuna were prominent among them.

Both ANR and NTR acted in many films together without ego hassles coming between them. Social dramas, historicals and mythologicals.

Devdas, Batasari, Padavamunaka, Velugu Needalu, aaradhana, Iddaru mitrulu, Krisharjuneeyam, Suvarnasundari, Bharyabhartalu etc. etc. etc.
His later films were Dr.Chakravarti, Prem Nagar, Maro Prapancham and some others.

Telugu people used to call him fondly as Akkineni.

Just read that ANR completed his portion of shooting for his last film MANAM. Thats very lucky and in returns gives film industry a rare movie with 3 generations(something like RK films’ Kal aaj aur kal)!

Pretty incredible that he was acting at 90!!

    Manam 1st look

    • ^^ Yea in Manam he would be seen with his son (Nagarjuna) and grandson (Naga Chaitanya). However in the film roles are reversed with ANR playing the grandson and Naga Chaitnaya playing the grand father. Nagarjuna would be son of Naga Chaitanya.

ANR completed all his portions. He feared his voice might not be same later so finished his dubbing as well. For a 90 year old he was very active till the last moment. I mean even in that last speech he was very fluent and even joked on the media.
