  1. Absolutely my number 1 on the expected movies list. Can’t stop replaying this promo since yesterday. Hard to explaine, because it definitely isn’t ‘nice’, but can’t resist. Vetrimaaran becomes the empitome of interesting cinema. And Dinesh proves he’s next ‘big thing’ to look out.

  2. Excellent trailer. Creates lot of curiosity about the film. Can’t wait to watch this one.

  3. Looks great, but worth pointing out that the film will only be one hour in length! I wonder what the distribution plan is – theatrical, online…will it be free? Interesting, but dissapointed it won’t be a full feature length.

  4. Looks good. Will it be ultimately be all there is, because it’s 1 hour? Vetrimaran is talented

    • Southies seem to be more bloodthirsty whether it is telugu or tamil. Malayalam and Kannada are different.

This site loves Shankar for crying out loud.

        • Anurag Kashyap? Which southie film you are talking about?

        • He hypes up the Subramaniapuram, Paruthiveeran, and Bala films. Even Aamir Khan’s better half had mentioned only these blood thristy films as examples of good cinema that Bollywood should attempt to make..

It’s not like Vishal Bharadwaj, Dibakar Banerjee, Sriram Raghavan, Anurag Kashyap, and other celebrated Bollywood filmmakers are not guilty. It’s more multiplex friendly blood thirsty, no?

North has endorsed Shankar and glorified him, the most vulgar man of violence.

It would help if Northern media raves about Chennai 28, Kaadhal, Thanga Meengal, Soodhu kaavum.

        • I have lost touch with tamil movies. I prefer to watch Sridhar’s films like Kalyana Parisu, Nenjil oru alayam, Kadalikka neramillai again and again for their music, for the simplicity of plot and charm. And also early Kamal’s films.

        • I don’t think Sridhar/Bhimsingh films are as good as any of the peak KB, Mahendran, Balu mahendra, Singeetham srinivasa rao, K.Vishwanath (dubbed to tamil), Kamal films. I like Bala, Bharathiraja and Mani Ratnam films with some reservations. Contemporary films I already mentioned. There are many gems here and there without a big name director. Films like Andha Naal, Aval appadi thaan..

Puke at Shankar films in general. Thanks.

  6. Sorry but not my cup of tea. I like action but this is torture being glorified on screen. Of course it will get you goose bumps but so does actual murder, rape, beheading, limb chopping etc scenes.

They are way better storytellers than likes of subramaniyapuramwalas out there.

Chennai28? I hope you are kidding. That kind of stuff is usual for marathi / bengali cinema. Nothing groundbreaking there. Maybe for Tamil audience its new thing where ppl dont fly in air with a single kick of hero.
