  3. Bachan has loads of memorable one-liners that weren’t brought up in the conversation.

I think ‘daru peene se liver kharab hoti hain’ is more remembered than the dialogue brought up in Hum.

There is ‘Tumhara naam kya hain, Basanti?’ in Sholay. Khakee’s monologue at the police station is way much more moving than the dialogue showed in Mohabattein.

He has some memorable one-liners and dialogues in Shakti, Baghban, Main Azaad Houn amongst others.

  4. Actor Amitabh Bachchan said the credit for the improving class of films India should go to the writers. “Writers are doing a phenomenal job in improving the quality of cinema, keeping in mind the other kind of entertainment that has entered our lives today,” he said, speaking at the 2016 Hindustan Times Leadership Summit.

  5. Would love to see that documentary !!
    Bachchan Bol -DAY 3229

For those that have visited my office there are many images that you shall identify with and many that you will not know the history of. One such is the last one above, standing with Javed saheb in front of the Rajasthani art work as you enter the lobby of the office area ..

Ram Madhvani, much before he became famous for his directorial venture “Neerja”, had done a documentary on me called ‘Everlasting Light’. In that document he had filmed a village in Rajasthan where the practice of drawing elements of a personalities life were put up on a white sheet of cloth, and at night the village inmates would assemble at the common center and the head of the village or an accomplished singer would sing the life of the personality, that had been drawn in the painting as you see it ..

So as you may be able to figure there are are many incidents of my life that have been given a form, resembling the event .. Madame Tussauds , my illness political venture etc ..

Quite unique and interesting .. it does not sound very absorbing now .. but as you see it in the documentary , it does give it another colour …

The documentary was done for the retrospective I had been invited for at the Lincoln Centre in New York. In order to introduce me to an American audience before they saw, my films it was imperative to give them an opener ..

Fortunately, other retrospectives that followed in other worlds and countries, broadcast the same documentary. Someday it shall be on a medium when it can be seen by all.
