“There is not a single inauthentic muscle or nerve on his face.” – what does that even mean? All I can see a stock angry look he has used virtually every movie
er… what do you mean “first Aamir movie to no have Prasoon Joshi as lyricist”? If you mean any Aamir movie, I’m guessing Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak disproves you. if you mean his production, Lagaan disproves you. if you mean since they first worked together (Fanaa, I think), Delhi Belly disproves you.. if you mean “recent times”, well.. Dhoom 3 and PK were last 2.. none of them Prasoon Joshi!
speaking of Dhoom3… “Music by Pritam in an AK film”…
so, again.. what in the name of all that’s holy in the world are you talking about??
That’s why I mentioned Delhi Belly. (and JTYJN.. and Peepli Live… and Dhobhi Ghaat).. speaking of which, RDB itself wasn’t Aamir Khan Productions. the *only* Aamir Khan Production movie Prasoon Joshi wrote lyrics for was probably Taare Zameen Par.
Khafa naheen.. 🙂 I was genuinely nonplussed at that statement of yours… since I couldn’t imagine what you may have meant. Same with your Pritam comment, since it hasn’t been that long since Dhoom-3!
The photos don’t seem to tell the actual story — that Aamir has been forced to return to Mumbai midway through the shoot, thanks to back shoulder muscle spasm that apparently caused him unbearable pain, unrelieved by painkillers. He is to return for his shoot after a week’s rest. He has assured fans on FB and Twitter that he is ok — but a video of him at Mumbai airport reveals distress. The man is playing with his health, all for a film. 28 kg overweight or the role, self admittedly not a healthy situation, planning to lose weight through 5 months( to play the younger character for a short bit), doing wrestling moves without a double ( and Salman has said that he too would not use a double for his Sultan) — these actors seem to forget the sad fate of one Christopher Reeves.
This reminds me of George Clooney’s weight gain for Syriana. He gained over 30 lbs and had an injury during the shoot which made him bedridden for 1 month. After the movie released, he called his weight gain pretty stupid and worst thing in his career. There has to be limit for method acting, putting on weight is not good especially after crossing 50 years.
I am not knowledgeable in the body-weight science but can anybody explain why actors go through this reverse-pain? They first gain weight, then they take trouble of losing the weight & then work-out like crazy for muscles. Why not finish off the shots that require a slim body-type first and then the weighty portions so that the actor can can lose weight at his own pace/convenience?
I can understand date conflicts and schedules and all but is there any scientific/biological reason for this?
Aamir was asked the same question and his response was that to transform himself from bulky to lean would be a more motivating journey as it would also make him physically fit for his next project. But in the reverse scenario, he would be left with no motivation but his next project for which he needs to take another long break in between both the films as that would require him to get back in to proper shape.

#Sultan was started way after #Dangal started shooting… Just saying! Its Aamir’s madness for perfection that Sultan is releasing early.
Not to say it was COMPLETELY UNETHICAL of Salman/YRF to over-ride DANGAL and go forward a essentially a masala film usurping the atmospherics of DANGAL…
When you play the role of a sportsman, you have to acquire the body of a sportsman, learn the sport to an extent. Bhagat Milkha Bhaag lead Farhan Akhtar had to make similar preparations, ready his body for the role of an athlete – runner.
He’s looking the part here – like mangal meets ghajini meets talaash. I hope this is the last film he does where his body is the symbolic advertisement of the film. Quietly more confident now that this will work.

The film is a biopic of Phogat, apparently being made with the involvement of him and his daughters. I am sure he knows what he is doing.

In a industry where looks matter most, the stretch /sagging skin after rapid weight gain & loss is an issue too.
