EEw pretty jingoistic..Aishwarya seems to have reined in her lung power..
Hooda might walk away with the glories..
LOL at Bharatiya Samajik Party…
MARY KOM was bad but pretty controlled compared to the decibel-level here..
Rocky is in a minority here, I too enjoyed it! Now of course Spielberg tends to be utterly predictable with these subjects but it was certainly a worthwhile film. However a week later I saw Sicario and that was truly fantastic. I was glad at the time not to have seen Bridge.. after Sicario!
I called it masterful since it IS a predictable story but look at the way Steven tells it! He made a predictable story in which you know exactly how the story spans out gripping! How he avoided jingoism. [For example, in JUST one scene, he conveys how the emotion of patriotism can be used for lesser means..All that the Russian spy says is, and I paraphrase: ‘You got your own people doing the SAME thing I do for your country. How would you like it if they were to be mistreated or inhumanly dealt with? You can do whatever you want with me. But think about this before you take any step.’ I know it’s the dialogue writer but the over-all impact of that scene is a hundred times more than Aishwarya’s shrieking here..]
Now I know our filmy grammar is quite different from theirs. I would NEVER accuse Border of being jingoistic. In its universe, it made fine sense. And not everybody is a Sunny or Nana to pull shrieking off…
And I also find this very OTT compared to this director’s previous outing. So I was not impressed with this..I can understand Hooda’s characterization but Aish’s I am just not convinced..
“How he avoided jingoism.”
Loved the trailer. For once like Aishwarya’s lung power though her punjabi accent could be slightly improved. Would surely watch the movie. Thanks for posting Sarbjit’s sister’s videos. There is surely cultural difference. What is jingoism in west, may be how people here (south asia) react on a daily basis…shouting and screaming. Especially when these two nations are concerned. Have you seen the marches on wagah border from both sides? If you want a different result than a different director needed to be hired.
Only those who dont have seen Real Dalbir Kaur, sabjit singh’s real sister, will say OTT. That lady is so brave and doesnt mind to be loud.
She has fought hard for 20 years for no result against a terrorist and jealous nation and that’s what made her bold as she said in her interviews. She fought alone in pakistan against pakistan and suffered so much without any help from indian government.
Only terrorist sympathizers will hate this trailer.
Malum hai beta. But there were lot of innocent people. Like sister of that journalist, accidently steped into N. Korea and was imprisoned. When Bill Clinton stepped in, they let her go. So even North Korea (compared to porkistan) is not that bad! He will be imprisoned for 15 yrs but won’t be killed by fellow inmates!
So called fake Witness backtracked in the case against Sarbjit, but pakistan still didnt release him. They wanted to train him as terrorist as per Dalbir Kaur.
Comparison with a spy is totally bullshit, spy dont roam on border drunk they go with ammunition and there are better ways to send them within country.
“Raghav you just called me a terrorist sympathizer for not liking a trailer” You hated the trailer?!?! I didn’t get that. I thought you found it jingo-bingo but rest of it was all praises. I do think they could have taken a better director than mary-kom guy but I am still glad that such a movie was made instead of making some phata-puran remake of tamil/telgu/hollywood/korean cinema. When people are too busy to read books, they can at least watch something and may than look into history….hopefully.
