  5. Akshay seems to be having the best line up in 2017 & 2018 with each one being different from the other which is quite remarkable!! Keeping his peers of doing 1 or at max 2 movies in a year in mind, he is become a “mini industry” through his prolific style of working!! Hope he succeeds in breaching 200 Crores barrier as he deserves the success he is getting & more in the years to come. Industry needs him which signifies his “place & standing” in the industry crystal clear!!

    • I would say in my opinion his line up is the most interesting of all.

Hope he succeeds. Better late than never. He finally seems to have understood. If he had done this during his golden period he would have crossed 200-250 Long time ago.

  6. Akshay Kumar reveals why he gave up his original name Rajiv Bhatia

When a fan asked Akshay what made him do it, he replied, “No one has ever asked me this question. My first film was Aaj (1987) which was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starred Kumar Gaurav. The name of Gaurav’s character was Akshay. I had a 4.5 second role in it and I would only observe Gaurav and his acting. I don’t know what happened but one day I just went to the court and got my name changed.”

The actor said that though he was a nobody at that time, he got a visiting cards made with the name ‘Akshay Kumar’ and went looking for work.

“I don’t know why I changed my name …. I just went to the Bandra East court and got it done. Main kucch bhi nahi tha us time pe phir bhi maine visiting card banwaye. Then I went out to get work, time was in my favour, and I got films after that,” said Akshay.

During the session, the audience also got a self defence lesson from Taapsee and Akshay.

  7. Music mogul Gulshan Kumar’s life is all set to get a cinematic treatment and singer Tulsi Kumar said Akshay Kumar is the perfect choice to play her father on the big screen.

Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film, titled ‘Mogul’, will chronicle Gulshan Kumar’s meteoric rise in music.

Tulsi, 31, said there are a lot of similarities between her father and Akshay when it comes to leading a disciplined life.

“There are a lot of similarities between Akshay and my father. Akshay is a Punjabi and so are we. He is Delhi-based and my dad was also from Delhi. I think he would be able to pull off the character. Akshay is very hard working and disciplined. My dad’s journey was also all about hard work and his love for music. I think all these things will come together. Akshay is perfect for ‘Mogul’,” Tulsi said.
The singer, who made her debut in 2006 with ‘Shabe Firaq’ from Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Chup Chup Ke’, said singing for her father’s biopic will be like a dream come true for her.

“The film is an emotional thing for us because it is about my father’s journey. I’ll definitely sing in the film. The ground work of the movie has begun. “I’m a singer today because of my dad. He was the one who pushed me to my full potential. It will be the proudest moment for me to be a part of this movie,” Tulsi said.

When asked if she is planning to dedicate a special song to her father, who was shot dead outside a temple in Mumbai twenty years ago, Tulsi said, “Right now the scripting is going on, so depending on that we’ll see.”

“We have not yet decided. It’s too early to say because the film will arrive in theatres next year and till then a lot of development is going to happen. But, definitely I’ll be a part of that movie in terms of singing or rendering my voice,” she added.

Tulsi is known for her hit romantic songs in Bollywood but she recently sang a peppy number ‘Gulaabi 2.0’ in ‘Noor’, which she thinks has helped her explore a different side.
