Yes, very shocking. She also acted in Rangeela, QSQT, Ashiqui, Kalyug and other movies. Mostly she was Salman’s mother in many of his past hit films.
She was playing Dayavantiji in Naamkaran on Starplus produced by Mahesh Bhatt. The series is tv version of Janam.
The actor who played her husband in Shriman Shrimati Jatin Kanakia died long back. One of the most hilarious series on Indian tv. We have a pale imitation now in Bhabhiji ghar par Hai.

Yes, Jatin Kanakia died once he completed shooting his portions of Hum Saath Saath Hain and died before its release! He was getting very popular in comedy but died before his time started in movies!

Very sad. She’s been in huge films. MPK, HAHK, KKHH etc. Easily one of this generations memorable on screen mothers and mainly in Rajshri films through 80-90’s. RIP.

I’d never have guessed she was only 31 in MPK. Quite ridiculous as she was so motherly in the film.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan rushed to actress Reema Lagoo’s Mumbai residence soon after the news of her death reached the 51-year-old actor. Reema Lagoo, 59, died on Thursday due to cardiac arrest. Her face resembled one of my aunt’s so always thought of my aunt. She was a good and usually pivotal character mother.

One of the most known faces from hindi movies who achieved more success on television contrastingly for her comic roles than her serious roles in movies such as Tu Tu Main Main, Srimaanji Srimatiji & many more. Her portrayal of Sanjay Dutt’s mother in Vaastav was one of her best roles & my most favourite as she brought the pain, suffering and dilemma of a mother to life when her own son pleading her to shoot him dead for his own good & rid him of all the future sufferings for once & all & “mother” obliged!! She was hale & hearty until the sudden cardiac arrest brought about her demise! An untimely death at 59 when she still had a lot to offer as an actress. May her soul rest in peace!
