  1. Dunkirk finished in second with an estimated $17.6 million, dropping only 34% in its third weekend in release for a domestic cume just shy of $135 million. Internationally, Dunkirk delivered an estimated $25 million from 63 markets bringing its overseas cume to $180.6 million for a global tally that now stands at $314.2 million. Looking ahead, the film opens in Italy at the end of August followed by early September releases in China and Japan

On the other hand, about Amitabh coming on board, we hear that Nagraj is a huge fan of the actor. Senior Bachchan has been an inspiration for the filmmaker since his childhood as he decided to become a director after he had enacted a few scenes of the actor from his cult film Sholay.

Also, it is being said that Amitabh Bachchan has often been seen showering praises for Nagraj Manjule’s direction and he has been called ‘genius director’ by the veteran superstar on social media. In fact, Amitabh Bachchan has also been sweet enough to send a letter to Nagraj congratulating him for the success of his film Sairat.

JHMS has big fall on Monday

    http://www.boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=3142

Jab Harry Met Sejal has had a big drop on Monday as business is set to come in between 6-7 crore nett. Its is looking at a 55% drop from the first day which was its best day. These numbers have come despite it being a part holiday for Raksha Bandhan. There is a another leg down set to come where the collection were better. Jab Harry Met Sejal had best collections in South and West Bengal and that is where Raksha Bandhan is not a major holiday so collectiosn had a big fall. In places like UP and Rajasthan the film held better due to the holiday but will eventually drop tomorrow.

The film has grossed a little over 50 crore nett in four days and there is not much more business to come and it could be the film hardly collects anything in the second week. An early estimate of the first week business is around 60 crore nett but it all depends on the fall on Tuesday which is a normal day. The box office has seen a horrible run since Tubelight and now it is getting scary as the flops pile. Although Jab Harry Met Sejal was never going to be a huge hit as it was an urban film and with Imtiaz Ali touch it would go more niche but still with Shahrukh Khan there it had chance of a 100 crore nett plus total but the content has failed and how.

    • BOI says content has failed (of course the great SRK can’t fail), so called haters say SRK has failed (only crazy BOI or SRK fans won’t accept that), SRK fans say watch the movie (social media etc has made it a failure), some say Imitiaz Ali has failed. Lol. Egg throwing in a flop party!!!
Anyways, jokes apart, how does this industry sustain with so many failures??

People will get bored of too much documentaries masking as rom coms. Only action has some chance. Maybe Badshaho will break the ice. And also TZH. Remember, BB2 had lots of action.

Saira Banu: Dilip Sahab is much improved by the grace of God
    Shreya Thakur | TNN | Aug 8, 2017, 08:50 AM IST
Last week the news of veteran actor Dilip Kumar getting admitted to a suburban Mumbai hospital created a stir. The veteran actor was initially admitted with complaints of dehydration and urinary complications on Wednesday evening and was henceforth moved to ICU for close monitoring.

Dilip Kumar’s condition is stable and slowly improving

Doctors were even contemplating dialysis but decided to wait for one more day. By Friday, his renal functions began to improve.

While the actor’s condition is stable now, fans await the news of his speedy recovery. Dilip Kumar’s wife and veteran actress Saira Banu exclusively told TimesOfIndia.com that his health has much improved now. “We have not got discharged yet. Dilip Sahab is much improved by the grace of God. Thank you,” she shared.

The actor continues to be admitted in the ICU for better observation.

  8. Mr Rai said needed someone of immense stature to play a little person
Mr Rai: Being an intelligent man, SRK knew what I was talking about
“It is a movie on a vertically challenged special person,” said Mr Rai

Shah Rukh Khan’s next director Aanand L Rai has explained the rationale behind why he made the character the superstar is playing in his untitled film a dwarf. Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Mr Rai revealed that much as he loved superhero films and watching homegrown ones like Krrish, he set his sights, quite literally, lower. “I loved seeing Hrithik (Roshan) fly off a 250-feet building, it was brilliantly done, but deep down I felt this wasn’t us. Apart from our mythological demigods, Indians aren’t ready for superheroes, kadd mein hum abhi bahut chhote hain. That’s what made me want to live life from the perspective of a dwarf,” Mr Rai told Mumbai Mirror.

Hearing a six-foot actor speak the words “I love you” is very different from someone two-feet shorter saying it, Mr Rai explained. And to play a little person, he needed someone of immense stature, metaphorically speaking. “I wanted to cut the all-important two feet from a star as big and confident as Khan saab, then tell a love story. Being an intelligent man, he knew what I was talking about,” Aanand L Rai told Mumbai Mirror.

Advanced editing technology will be shortening Shah Rukh Khan – who is about 5 feet 7 inches – in the film. “It is a movie on a vertically challenged special person. I enjoyed while shooting for the film. I think technically these kind of films should be made in India. I feel proud that my team is doing that,” the actor told news agency IANS some months ago.

He won’t be the first actor to play a little person in Indian cinema – Kamal Haasan has been there already in 1989’s Apoorva Sagodharargal, released in a Hindi dub as Appu Raja.

    • Tepk panicked! haha!

    • I think jhms bombing has immensely helped tepk. Firstly jhms will not get to retain its screens, resulting in a wider release for tepk at above 3000 screens with per day potential to be above 30 cr. Secondly, some sense has got into the distribution business and that ridiculous deal of high price has not materialized. With jhms likely to wrap up at 70 cr, the stage is set for Akshay to do the rescue act for the industry and climb up the bollywood ladder. A 100 cr hit on open defecation is going to turn some tables.

      • It depends, whether people want to watch Europe or lota! And what about overseas?

        Like

      • Overseas is never a highlight for Akshay films. But I can say that reasonable expectations from India is around 13 cr opening day, 55-60 cr over the extended 4 day weekend and good enough wom to double that for a lifetime total around 110 cr.

        Like

      • True. However, At the moment 100+ Cr seems tough unless the movie is entertaining and inspiring at the same time…then it can do wonders and become Akshay’s biggest hit.

On a positive note, The momentum that he has generated over last few years and strings of hits is making the movie look promising. Akshay’s equity is at an all time high now esp the way he is spoken about by the viewers. All are giving him benefit of doubt and a sense that ‘Akshay ka movie hai, achcha hi hoga” was unheard off. So that is the real game changer for him, though not at the level of Aamir but definitely after him.

    • Don’t think TEPK would have been afftected even if JHMS would have been a hit. Both are at opposite end of set up and feel.

I agree with Sanjana that TEPK is harldy a big deal from box office perspective, despite Akshay trying to hardsell. Though his marketing appraoch is drawing lots of attention in media and elsewhere but to convert it onto BO draw will not be easy.

This deal fell through as so far only UP has give TEPK tax free and no other state (BJP, Congress or any other party) has granted it the advantage before the release.

Probably after the release and from week 2 onwards it would happen which would not be the same thing.

I personally believe that the movie should not be given tax free status because it already has Akshay in it to ensure it reaches to wider audience.

BB2 along with netflix, hotstar etc have made high content visible and has chnaged the dynamics.

No wonder Aditya Chopra now wants the action scenes to be reshot for Thugs. No longer viewers will be happy to see Just Aamir Khan…he should be doing world class action, else he would be rejected even more severely.

However action is not the only genre. It can be any genre but the script should be well researched and engaging. More Novel based movies should be made. TEPK seems to be a well researched script from the interviews.

Mubarakan did a decent number on its second Monday as its collections were very close to Sunday. It was a holiday for Raksha Bandhan but still it was a good result to be higher than Saturday and Friday. The film has found some appreciation in some areas but due to the initial the film has not really been able to collect numbers. It is best in places like Central India and Gujarat which is rare for a primarily North Indian film and that is what kept collections on the lower side. Mubarakan is sure to go over 50 crore nett which is a decent number considering the start it had but not for the film itself. The collections of Mubarakan till date are as follows

    First Week – 35,00,00,000 apprx

    Friday – 1,00,00,000 apprx

  13. All Hopes Pinned On Toilet Ek Prem Katha
    Tuesday 08 August 2017 12.30 IST
    Box Office India Trade Network

Jab Harry Met Sejal has come and gone with very bad results and now the industry has pinned hopes on Toilet Ek Prem Katha. Its not just Jab Harry Met Sejal but what has happened since Bahubali – The Conclusion release in late April that the industry just needs a kick start and some hope again. Also if we look at the releases this year then if hopes had to be pinned on one film it would be Toliet Ek Prem Katha. This is because it has the best theatrical trailer of the year outside Bahubali – The Conclusion so basically its the best trailer as far as outright Hindi films goes.

Obviously a trailer does not mean its job done but at least it is a film that you can have hope from. Also its not the bumper opening type film as its devoid of canvas, action and grandeur and even the music is average. But the music trailers do manage to portray a good love story which is aesthetically correct for a small town and this is where it could emerge a winner. The film does send out a message for a social cause but a large chunk of the theatre going audience today is affluent so how much the cause will relate to them remains to be seen. The advances of the film will open tomorrow and the industry will it will give some oxygen to an industry which is in ICU at the moment. The distributor shares and expected shares of recent releases are below and it makes for sad reading. Shares are the actual recoveries from the theatres,

    Tubelight – 58 crore

    Mom – 14 crore

Guest In London – 3.25 crore

    Jagga Jasoos – 25 crore

    Munna Micheal – 16.50 crore

    Mubarakan – 24 crore

Jab Harry Met Sejal – 35 crore

The target for Toliet – Ek Prem Katha for the industry to be happy is to be the highest among all the above films and it is a possibility if the content is as good as the trailer.

Jab Harry Met Sejal fell badly on its first Monday despite parts of the country being a holiday for Raksha Bandhan. These places did hold better but the fall is coming here also. In a circuit like Mysore where there was no holiday the fall was frightening and this was probably the best performing circuit over the weekend.

The total of the film in four days stands at a little above 50 crore nett and it seems the film will close the first week at around 60 crore nett depending on the fall on Tuesday. The first four days collections of Jab Harry Met Sejal are as follows

    Friday – 15,00,00,000 apprx

    Saturday – 14,25,00,000 apprx

    Sunday – 14,75,00,000 apprx

    Monday – 6,75,00,000 apprx

    TOTAL – 50,75,00,000

The film has faced rejection all over the country and it is another low after the huge disappointment of Tubelight. Here this could have been seen before release as the film did not look good but to finish with collections of 70 crore nett or maybe even less is a shocker.

Bollywood’s friends-turned-foes Kajol and Karan Johar may have finally buried the hatchet and called in a truce. The two stars who have been on warring paths since Diwali last year seem to be taking baby steps towards rebuilding their long-time friendship. If the stars’ social media activity is anything to go by, then fans can surely look forward to reconciliation between the two. On the festival of Raksha Bandhan, Karan treated fans to the first picture of his twins Yash and Roohi. While the picture made headlines, and the adorable babies received a wave of love and blessings from fans and well wishers, it also seemed to have won over their daddy’s former friend – Kajol.

Keeping her differences aside, the actress ‘liked’ the picture on Instagram. Karan seemed to have taken note of the same and ‘followed’ her back. It didn’t take fans on social networking handles to take note of the same and cheer the two on.

Babumoshai Bandookbaaz writer Ghalib Asad Bhopali says that Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) has better representation than the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which demanded 48 cuts of the films to get ‘A’ certification.

He says the film’s team is expecting justice for Babumoshai Bandookbaaz from the FCAT. Asked about his expectation of the decision on the film, Bhopali told IANS, “We are expecting justice for our film and I am sure it will be a fair judgment because the panelists of the Tribunal come from different walks of life.”

“On the other hand, in CBFC, there are five members from the same socio-cultural background and, therefore, their approach towards the understanding of judging a film and sentiments of our audience is not wide. I think FCAT has better representatives than CBFC and, therefore, we hope for a better judgment.”

Baahubali 2 on Netflix: If there’s an Indian movie that can be turned into one of those multi season HBO series, this is it. It has so much to say and since it covers multi generation, it would have been great to see it all in details. Deserves all the praise and boxoffice success it got. However I would still take Dharam-Veer or Kranti over this 

Dharam Sankat Main: I assume this came out after Oh My God, decent watch. Felt rushed at places and didn’t provide details/clarifications in some scenes. Paresh Rawal looked slim in this movie.

        • Haven’t seen middle eastern shows (I mean arabic ones) but the juggernaut tv industry in this sense is the Turkish one. Their shows are huge in many places. The mideast, pakistan, Greece, eastern Europe, even parts of Latin America. I’ve seen quote a few myself and find them addictive. Some are just like masala movies. But romance is usually a strong element. Then there are some historicals. Netflix have had some of these for a year. Most are not complete yet. Actually watching some of this stuff one realizes in a different way how many blockbusters bollywood could be sitting on if they did similar things. And they already have such a strong tradition. Sometimes I feel the Turks might have learnt from some masala films ! Even the romances are so much more compelling. But here’s the kicker! Turkey has this strange format where the average episode length is between 90 min and 120 min. Sometimes even longer than this. Occasionally shorter than 90. But here’s more ! A successful show will usually run two seasons at the very least and have roughly 80 episodes, each episode with the length I just mentioned. Do the math! Very rarely a thriller series will just have 40 episodes. On the other hand some other shows have as many as 130 or more! Netflix generally breaks them up. So 2-3 episodes for every one. It therefore takes some dedication to finish an entire show! One of the shorter ones on netflix and that is also complete I think is called Intersection. 30 episodes or so.

Srk’s all Red chillies production was bought for undisclosed amount and then Aamir’s discussion was mainly for Dangal. This was to give the Netflix India a jump start. Aamir’s other productions will come out later. 3 Idiots and PK are not Aamir productions and hence they are not on Netflix. They have to reach out VIdhu Vinod Chopra and Raju Hirani.

On the other hand, Amazon Prime has bought exclusive rights for Salman Khan movies and will start showing them. It would have been nice if Netflix got him as well so all of them are 1 place.

At number two is Jab Harry Met Sejal, the Shah Rukh Khan film took a very good opening on day one, but collapsed following negative reviews online.
In the third place is Meesaya Murukku, which can be classified as a super hit. And at number four is Dunkirk, which is holding well in high end multiplexes. In the fifth place is the Telugu film Fidaa, which is a super hit.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s unusual and polemical “Toilet: A Love Story” (aka “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”) is looking to go beyond Indian cinema’s traditional international markets. It will be released day and date in several non-traditional territories, including Japan and Chile, on August 11.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, “Toilet” is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Clean India Movement. It sees Kumar’s character begin a campaign to build a toilet for his house after his wife rebels against having to defecate at dawn in the fields. The film is produced by Plan C Studios, a joint venture between Reliance Entertainment and Friday Filmworks.

The traditional Indian cinema overseas market comprises some 50 territories including the U.S., U.K., U.A.E, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore. Reliance Entertainment and KriArj Entertainment are distributing worldwide and expanding the same day release of “Toilet” to more than 70 territories. Among the 22 in Europe are: Greece, Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta, Croatia, Estonia and Latvia.

“With ‘Rustom’ widely accepted and loved across the world, we were emboldened to go for a bigger and more aggressive release,” said Prerna Arora and Arjun N. Kapoor of Kriarj Entertainment. Kumar is Bollywood’s banker, churning out hit after hit, including “Rustom,” “Airlift,” and the “Jolly LLB” franchise.

    • t is most rightly said that “Music is God’s gift to man, the only art of heaven given to earth, the only art of earth we take to heaven”. This statement holds a much deeper meaning than it seems. What truly signifies this is the third song from legendary artist Gurdas Maan’s album titled ‘Punjab’, ‘Mittar Pyare Nu’.

‘Mittar Pyare Nu’ is Sikh religious hymn; a shabad, by the tenth guru Guru Gobind Singh ji, who recited it in the Machivara Forest when separated from everyone. Despite the hardships, Guru Gobind Singh ji yearns for remembrance of Waheguru, as the connection with the guarding-spirit is the strongest of all.

This shabad is very beautifully crooned by Gurdas Maan, and the story revolving around this incident has been conceived and conceptualized by Gurrick G Maan. He directed Gurdas Maan for the first time in the title track ‘Punjab’ of the album titled ‘Punjab’, and the track witnessed unprecedented success. This is the second time when he has directed Gurdas Maan, and very aptly picturized his vision. This short musical film has been shot mainly in Chandigarh, Ropar, and Kurali. When spoken with Gurdas Maan on this, he said, “I am fortunate, rather blessed, to have got an opportunity to lend my voice to this beautiful shabad which was recited by our tenth guru”

This much anticipated album ‘Punjab’ is believed to be closest to Gurdas Maan’s heart as it is mirroring the reality of the regal State of Punjab. With the title track, Punjab’s blind side was shown but with ‘Makhna’ the warmth of hearts, vivaciousness, and high-spiritedness was depicted. With ‘Mittar Pyare Nu’ we get to witness the eternal-ecstatic bond of man and the Almighty. With such finesse in every song and its story, we can’t wait to know what’s more in store for us in this album which is catering to the whole spectrum of emotions.

  31. After Baahubali, Bollywood Box Office ‘Hits Rock-Bottom.’ Trade Analyst Explains

Now, Bollywood has no choice but to look forward to Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha, said Taran Adarsh

Baahubali: The Conclusion’s collection score card is the perfect example of redefining box office history. It arrived in theatres on April 28 and rocketed its way to Rs. 1500 crores in no time and is still counting. The Hindi version of Baahubali 2 was distributed by Karan Johar and became the first ever Hindi film to topple the Rs. 500 crore mark – in doing so, the magnum opus has raised the bar at the box office counter really high. While only overtly ambitious filmmakers would expect to compete with Baahubali 2’s box office scores, films released after the epic series, have barely managed to make a mark at the ticket counters. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who evaluates box office scores closely, said now is a time when “Bollywood is desperate for hits.”

Movies which could have had a great run at the box office due to its star power, also reaped unexpected results. We have Amitabh Bachchan’s Sarkar 3, Salman Khan’s Tubelight, Ranbir Kapoor’s Jagga Jasoos and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal which released April onwards but none could make the cut. “Mere star power isn’t enough,” wrote Mr Adarsh. Meanwhile, Baahubali 2’s record has only been surpassed by Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which released in December 2016 and been raking up a storm in Chinese theatres recently.

Jab Harry Met Sejal has been at the theatres for four days and made Rs. 52.90 crores while Salman Khan’s Eid offering managed to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark. Tubelight’s box office collections are good in itself but not in parity with Salman’s previous blockbuster Eid releases. Jagga Jasoos stopped short of the half century mark.

“Tubelight, Jagga Jasoos, Munna Michael, Jab Harry Met Sejal… Bollywood is going through the worst phase… desperate for hits… what’s shocking, the biggies aren’t fetching the desired start at the BO… Let’s NOT blame the audience… The problem lies within… The biggest of stars need a solid story and captivating screenplay to stand on feet, to sprint, to win… Mere star power isn’t enough,” Mr Adarsh wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

Now, Bollywood has no choice but to look forward to Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha, said Mr Adarsh: “Post Baahubali 2, the biz has hit rock bottom… Will Toilet Ek Prem Katha prove a saviour? Let’s hope it bails out the industry.”

Unless the film turns out to be good, it will be another flop. The fact that he cancelled the press screenings does not give out good vibes about the movie. Of course, if it is a good film, it can do 100 cr, but it is not easy to deliver an entertaining film on its topic. And not many seems to be invested in this film at this point.

Taran will never get it. I think I wrote many posts after Bahubali 2 that the audience will expect more. All the big films (with stars have fallen miserably). The only success is Hindi Medium. These films that have failed had little opportunity to change direction. If Bahubali 2 is a watershed moment like Sholay, Bollywood is in for a rough ride. Mid 70’s, the big guns were in their prime age or arriving there – right now Bollywood’s star structure relies on 45+ stars, a huge issue. Age is a huge barrier.

In any industry Taran should say ‘to win we need solid scripts, screenplay period. Stars are just the icing on the cake.’

  34. What went wrong with Jab Harry Met Sejal? Trade experts give their views
    ByFenil Seta
    Aug 9, 2017 – 8:00 am IST

The verdict is out. Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s latest film Jab Harry Met Sejal has failed miserably at the box office. Audiences have given the film thumbs down as well. The negativity spread quite fast which prevented the collections from increasing significantly on the weekend.

It’s absolutely shocking that the film that was expected to easily do more than Rs 100 crore might barely touch the Rs 70 crore mark. So what went wrong with the film? We spoke to the experts in the field and they all had some interesting things to point out.

Trade analyst Amod Mehra says, “I don’t know where to begin. There are so many things wrong with the film. At first, they had tentatively titled the film The Ring. But I guess they found the title too ‘thanda’ or something that would appeal just to the multiplex audiences. Hence, I guess they changed the name to Jab Harry Met Sejal. But when you see the film, you feel that the The Ring was the apt title. They then did all sort of promotional exercises like mini trials and all but it didn’t work.”

Atul Mohan, another trade analyst, opines, “The biggest villain was storytelling – the plot was just not moving. The emotions were missing and there was no connectivity”. Komal Nahta, a veteran name in the trade circles asserts, “The biggest culprit was the second half. There was no backstory provided. There’s a sequence in the first half where Shah Rukh Khan remembers his time in Punjab and starts crying. Audiences expected that they too will get a chance to cry in the second half when the backstory is revealed. But shockingly, writer-director Imtiaz Ali didn’t even touch that aspect at all.”

Amod Mehra further adds, “The way Sejal latches on to the guide was not normal. Audiences couldn’t identify with the goings-on. Also, it was so dumb to search for the ring on the streets. If I forget my file in the train for instance, I am not going to hop into all the local trains to search for it.”

Both Amod Mehra and Komal Nahta also reveal that the lack of supporting characters in the film was not a wise decision. Komal Nahta says, “There are only two major characters in the film. Indians are not used to such a set up. They are used to supporting characters surrounding the lead protagonists.” Amod Mehra adds, “There were only two characters in the first half while in the second half, there are two more characters added. The plot was very thin and it was overstretched. Moreover, there are so many songs added in the film needlessly.”

Atul Mohan makes a very interesting observation about the story spanning almost half-a-dozen European cities. He says, “There were six different countries shown in the film. But they all looked the same. The visual delight was just not there.”

So who’s to blame for the fiasco? Amod Mehra feels the blame lies with Shah Rukh Khan. He says, “The blame lies completely with Shah Rukh Khan for greenlighting such a project.” Komal Nahta however differs here and says, “Imtiaz Ali has to take responsibility for the failure. He has to understand that you can’t change viewing habits of the viewers.”

  35. Jab Harry Met Sejal Tuesday Business
    Wednesday 09 August 2017 10.30 IST
    Box Office India Trade Network

Jab Harry Met Sejal had another huge fall on Tuesday as collections came down to 3 crore nett. This is 55% lower than Monday which was a partial holiday. The total of the film so far is 53.75 crore nett and it has practically folded out with this Tuesday business.

The Tuesday number is 80% apprx down from the first day and this means if it was not a holiday for Raksha Bandhan on Monday then the film would have grossed at the best 4 crore nett allowing for the bigger fall after a holiday. The first five days collections of Jab Harry Met Sejal are as follows

    Friday – 15,00,00,000 apprx

    Saturday – 14,25,00,000 apprx

    Sunday – 14,75,00,000 apprx

    Monday – 6,75,00,000

    Tuesday – 3,00,00,000

    TOTAL – 53,75,00,000

The film will not reach 60 crore nett for the week with a more likely scenario of 57-58 crore nett and then from there 70 crore nett looks a big task. Imtiaz Ali has managed to do the unthinkable and give Shahrukh Khan such a low grosser. .

I said this before, even before JHMS bombed, that no one except RCE will invest in that huge budget dwarf film considering SRK’s current standing. Then why is it that new age directors in the name of niche and different films make large budgeted boring films?
    Who funds these projects?
    Why stars sign up those?
Why critics give those boring films with non star actors good reviews and trash them when a star appears in those which are similar?

Even in this blog we tried to give focus on new aged cinemas, want to discuss what Iranis or Koreans make.

Why to we give importance to trash like Rangans, Raja Sen and Khalid Mohammed when we knew that they hold no pulse for good cinema.

For long most of the people here and critics blamed the viewers for chosing trash and not accepting new world cinema. I mean why do we want new world cinema. It will find no takes in India at all if it features a star.

India love their stars and their own stories. Whenever both are combines you get brilliance like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hera Pheri, DDLJ and Dangal.

Why the likes of Mani Rathnam, Anurag Kashyap & his brother, Imtiaz, Farhan Akhtar, Abhishek kapoor, Arbaaz Khan, Karan Malhotra etc. get work in Hindi film industry when they keep trying the failed approach repeatedly and dont learn from their mistakes?

Few very good and honest comments Naveen. Regarding telling Indian stories just pick up Savdhaan India or any news channel and there are plenty stories to tell from all strata of society.

…and then it’s pretty well known ‘film’ is the director’s and editor’s medium and if one wants to say then theatre is more of an actor domain. Now with VFX and cutting edge technology available, the director’s job becomes all the more important in laying out the vision of people involved with the project. There is a lot of fine tuning involved with writing which is time consuming and a same dialogue and situation can be written in 10 different ways and only the innovative / genuine one will stick with the audience. When one hears Hirani and that Joshi guy interview, one can attest to the fact that writing is what makes or breaks a scene and then the movie overall. If your director is out to make a quick buck, the actor just had it.

Further in the Indian context it’s all the more important actors hire or work with honest and top notch guys since here actors are doing 10 other things besides movies as sources of income. Money is a never ending hunger there and greed is part of our Indian culture and it’s very difficult to shrug off calls for wealth accumulation in favor of staying true and honest to the job at hand.

These days actual filming is just a small part of the process with advent of all these green screen and digital cameras with virtual backgrounds where one superimposes the subjects onto virtual backgrounds. Director is the key and can make or break a deal.

I feel even JHMS is also a victim of demanding audience. BB2 had everything. Strong script, action, some romance, novelty and JSM reinvented on a much larger canvas. I doubt whether Rajamouli or Prabhas can recreate that magic once more. It is a once in a lifetime experiment.

I dont think Krk can harm that much. He tried his best to harm BB2 from day one but failed. He promoted MM and it flopped. Social media can harm.

Well, does TEPK has all these like good script, romance etc.? On the paper, it seems. But only Friday onwards will decide.

The urgent need is reduce ticket prices, make popcorn affordable to lower income groups(even upper middleclass think thrice before buying that high priced trash), let big stars halve their prices. TV channels peddle movie promotions and it is not at all necessary atleast for the big stars. Their names themselves have some inbuilt value. I am sick of watching every movie promotion on TMKOC and Daya bhabhi and friends drooling like mad.

I likes Jagga Jasoos and this was the only film after BB2 that i went to see in a theater. I don’t regret this decision at all. The film suits my sensibility. I will not say it was a very good movie like Barfi but it had moments which made me smile.

I am sure the same is the case with those who went to watch JHMS. I may actually like it on TV. It may be like Tamasha. But if SRK compares it with DDLJ during promotion and Imtiaz with Yash Chopra….expectation will be built and then will get crashed if not true.

      • What Yash chopra made last was JTHJ…i would rate the romance in JHMS above that.

anyways, SRK was there in both the movies..and lot more that yash chopra made. So he must be knowing something and maybe he is talking about how they go about their craft. I wonder if he was talking about how it turned out actually.

Another interesting comment was that he thinks this is how Raj/Rahul wud have ended up..like Harry. One thing is certain..that SRK liked the character Harry better, and more in tune with himself. It is evident from his prformance also.

I saw Jagga Jasoos also in theatre and liked it. It was ruined by the second half which tried to tie everything together and to an international villian.

“Has the expectation and taste of the audience changed after the release of ‘Bahubali 2’ or is it the further increase in entertainment options from online streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Video that’s affecting film business? Could it be the ever increasing ticket prices or is the value of stars reducing?

The questions don’t end there. Has the audience completely lost interest in rom-coms or is Shah Rukh Khan losing his audience due to poor choice of films in the last 3 years?”

  41. Salman, SRK have huge flops post BB2. Let’s see Akshay’s luck. Netflix etc is not anything to shout about – Hollywood hasn’t suffered so don’t think Bollywood can use that. Doesn’t the South have another BB running right now? Netflix is home entertainment, for me at least it won’t serve a substitute for cinema.

Content has been struggling for ages. The questions Indicine asks are only scratching the surface. It’s not a SRK problem. Haven’t writers and singers complained about poor salaries for ages? Star actors earn way too much for a start. Pay them a flat base and rest on performance of film. Hit them where it hurts and I guarantee a change in fortunes. Get proper singers like Sonu Nigam being playback singers.

Salman is Bollywood’s biggest star but it means nothing if he’s doing Tubelight.

Even if you are making a film about ‘Swach Bharat’ you can still be pulled up for flinging forth some frothy filth. So Akshay Kumar has discovered. His much vaunted, BJP-approved Toilet Ek Prem Katha has been ordered as many as 8 verbal cuts before being certified with a ‘UA’ certificate.

Some of these cuts, say sources from the CBFC, find Akshay Kumar making crude statements. “In one sequence Akshay Kumar is heard telling his screen-wife, ‘Tumne mujhe 3 baar jagaya hai. Main koi saandh hoon kya (you’ve woken me up thrice…am I a bull?)….In another sequence a character says he goes to pee with a rassi (thread) around his ears. He means the sacred thread, the Brahminical janao. And we saw no reason for something with such sanctity attached to it being referred to so facetiously.”

In addition 4 expletives including ‘haraami’ have been ordered out.

For those who thought getting past the CBFC would be a cakewalk for Toilet – Ek Prem Katha just because it’s got the Prime Minister’s tweet approval and tax exemption in BJP-run states, this is a good lesson in democratic censorship.

But Akshay Kumar denied this saying that there were only 4 cuts.

  49. Box Office Predictions: Akshay Kumar & Bhumi Pednekar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha

    http://www.koimoi.com/box-office/box-office-predictions-akshay-kumar-bhumi-pednekars-toilet-ek-prem-katha/

Over the last few months, Akshay Kumar has been pretty consistent when it comes to ensuring a good and reliable first day at the Box Office. Traditionally, his films have opened in 13-15 crore range and that typically ensures that they are set to land in a safe zone. Given the kind of cost of production that his films carry (minus his remuneration of course, which is taken care of by the fact that he is a producer in almost all his films) that has a range of 20-25 crore, profits are not a concern.

Day 1 of Akshay’s last few releases:

Singh Is Bliing – 20.67 crore
    Housefull 3 – 15.20 crore
    Rowdy Rathore – 15.10 crore
    Brothers – 15.02 crore
    Rustom – 14.11 crore
    Jolly LLB 2 – 13.20 crore
Gabbar Is Back – 13.05 crore

Singh Is Bliing was an exception as it was the second in line from the franchise Singh Is King. Moreover, it came on Gandhi Jayanti as well. Nonetheless, what is working remarkably in the favor of Akshay Kumar is the fact that he has been consistently delivering hits to super hits, what with last four films of his [Jolly LLB 2, Rustom, Housefull 3, Airlift] stepping into the 100 Crore Club with ease.

The same is now expected from Toilet – Ek Prem Katha as well which is arriving this Friday. Though there is no clash per se (as was the case with Rustom v/s Mohenjo Daro or Airlift v/s Kya Kool Hain Hum 3), competition is there of course, what with Jab Harry Met Sejal still in the running. That would kind of even out the solo release advantage to some extent.

All of this means that an opening day of 13-14 crore would be a good enough start for the Shee Narayan Singh directed film. Add to this the fact that the big holiday of Independence Day falls on Tuesday and that would ensure a hefty Week One for the film.

    BySubhash K. Jha
    Aug 10, 2017 – 9:14 am IST

Tubelight’s Maharashtra distributor Shreyans Hirawat of NH Studioz can heave a sigh of life.

On Wednesday, 9th August, Salman Khan called the distributor to compensate for the losses suffered at the Box-Office over Tubelight. Salman, on the behest of his father Salim Khan, agreed in June to reimburse for the losses suffered for Tubelight. Finally the reimbursement is happening today.

Says a source close to the development, “Salman Khan had promised to return his distributor’s money by the end of July. However, he was busy shooting abroad for Tiger Zinda Hai. Now that he’s back in Mumbai, he has agreed to return Rs. 32.5 crores to the distributors. This is half of the total losses suffered by distributors over Tubelight.”

Interestingly, the same distributor, Shreyans Hirawat has suffered losses of around Rs. 50 crores on the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal.

The buzz is Shah Rukh will follow in Salman’s footsteps and compensate for the losses.

  54. Box Office Update: Jab Harry Met Sejal Set To Vanish In 1 Week Flat

    August 10, 2017

Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s Jab Harry Met Sejal is set to disappear from theaters in one week flat as there is just no hold in collections whatsoever. The numbers are declining with every passing day and that was evidenced on Wednesday as well when just 2.5 crores* more came in. With the overall total reading 58.40 crore*, the eventual fate of the film is already quite visible.

There have been flops and disasters before as well but a film featuring a top superstar been rejected in such a ruthless manner by the audience is a first ever. Yes, the film has issues and really big ones actually. However, it didn’t quite merit the kind of free fall that it is actually experiencing. In the case of Jab Harry Met Sejal, it is turning out to be a rejection which is one of its kind.
Box Office – Jab Harry Met Sejal set to vanish in one week flat
Box Office Update: Jab Harry Met Sejal Set To Vanish In 1 Week Flat

In fact, it seems like audiences were actually united in not giving the Imtiaz Ali directed film a dekko at all and weak content followed by all around the poor word of mouth was just the kind of ammunition needed to vent out all the disappointment. This is exactly has happened with the film where audiences have totally ignored all the star quotient associated with it and decided to turn its back entirely.

The film has crossed the lifetime of Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif’s Jagga Jasoos. Anurag Basu’s musical stands at 53.38 crores and Jab Harry Met Sejal has managed to surpass it in 5 days. Though Jagga Jasoos is a flop at the box office, Jab Harry Met Sejal seems to follow the same line. The trending of the film has been very poor following the negative word of mouth.

    Very disappointing!

    • Overseas distribution rights were sold for 50 cr, which will also not be recovered with losses around 10 cr there. It is actually good for the star if he comes up with a bad film and it fails (aka Tubelight). But JHMS is a worse case scenario when the movie is not that bad, but is rejected outright. Its then a heavy blow for the star, and hurts his equity the most.

  55. CBFC removes Arnab Goswami’s reference from Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Arnab surprised
    BySubhash K. Jha
    Aug 10, 2017 – 10:39 am IST

After Barkha Dutta, it’s Arnab Gowsami whose name has been axed from a Hindi film. Arnab’s name has been asked to be removed from the new Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet – Ek Prem Katha.

Earlier Sonakshi Sinha was not allowed to use Barkha Dutta’s name although she played a fan. This time the reason for removing superstar-news anchor’s name is even more inexplicable.

Says a source from film’s crew, “It was just a random reference to ‘Arnab’, not even his full name. But we were asked to remove it. The explanation given was, we can’t use names of real-life people without their consent. But didn’t Barkha Dutta say she had no objection to her name being used in Noor? They still cut her mention out,”

Incidentally Akshay Kumar and Arnab Gowami are friends. The other day Arnab invited Akshay into his news studio to talk about the Varnika stalking case and women’s empowerment. During the conversation Arnab actually allowed Akshay Kumar to speak while he listened with a smile.

This was exceptional attentiveness from an anchor notorious for interrupting interviewees.

When asked about his name being removed by the censor board, Arnab Goswami responded, “I don’t understand why the CBFC should have any objection to my name being used in a film. Even if it was used negatively, which you tell me it has not, it’s up to me to object or not object. I think Mr Pahlaj Nihalani has no business deciding on my behalf.”

  57. Another Euro Director Hits The Pits
    Thursday 10 August 2017 12.00 IST
    Box Office India Trade Network

The fate of Jab Harry Met Sejal has seen another one of those European directors hit the pits. Not that it was not coming, there was an article written here in March (The European Directors Not Quite Out Yet) which pretty much spelled it out and it has gone pretty much to plan, actually its worse than we had expected. Now the article would probably read (European Directors Very Close To An End) as Zoya Akhtar still has a chance with a cast film with Ranveer Singh who is doing pretty well and Alia Bhatt doing extremely well but a European director has the capability to change this equation fast as Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and even Shahrukh Khan have found out to their cost. Even Salman Khan is not spared when Kabir Khan goes to his roots in Tubelight.

It is shocking that we can see this from the outside that it is coming but the industry can’t. Ranbir Kapoor has made five films with these directors (2 with Imitiaz Ali, 2 with Anurag Basu and 1 with Anurag Kashyap) and the one that got away somehow was Barfi! but then flukes will happen. Ranbir Kapor was a genuine potential superstar, a talent which comes in generations but these euro directors have put him in a position that it will take years to recover. Then a Shahrukh Khan actually works with an Imtiaz Ali, its bad enough having a film with Gauri Shinde who would also fall in the bracket of a Euro director but not an A lister as the likes of Imtiaz Ali, Vishal Bharadwaj and company. But Dear Zindagi was a guest role so you get away with it but in a full fledged with one of these directors you can’t really get away with. Lets say that Jab Harry Met Sejal was loved by the five metro audience it may have reached 150 crore nett but is that good enough for a Shahrukh Khan film. Dilwale did 140 crore nett a few years back.

The first point is that there is demographics of the box office at work and these directors can only appeal to five cities and even in those five cities it is mainly the English speaking audience who might bear their films. Secondly the most important reason why we call them European directors is the story telling and narrative of their films. The technique of direction changes over the years but you can’t change the story telling style as the audience is used to this for years. They may be attempting to change Indian cinema but that will never happen as only the audience can do that. Instead of following the ways of a Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra or Raj Khosla is term of how a story is presented to the audience they are looking towards European cinema which they believe is the way forward only for the audience to give the middle figure nearly every time.

The A listers in this Euro director list are Vishal Bharadwaj, Anurag Basu, Imtiaz Ali, Dibaker Banerjee, Zoya Aktar and Anurag Kashyap. There are so many of these but these are A listers as they have managed to get mini stars and stars to work in their films while Imtiaz Ali even managed to get a superstar but to no avail. These stars have suffered huge career setbacks most of the time they worked with a euro director and now it may (will is correct word but you never discount that 1-2% chance of a Barfi! happening) be the turn of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt with Gully Boy if and when that film happens. The actors get away with if you are coming off commercial hits but if they expected hit fails and then you have a Euro director for your next then you need god on your side. This is why Padmavati is a must for Ranveer Singh as after Bekifre you can’t afford a tanker when your next is a Zoya Akhtar film.

Earlier there was the Hollywood bug with directors like Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Ram Gopal Verma and Sanjay Gupta who racked up the flops like there was no tomorrow but that was a bug where only these lot and a few others were infected. Today the European thing is rampant more like a disease as its not just the names above but many others also going the same way. It remains to be seen where it goes as its reached a level where even Shahrukh Khan has made a film with one of these directors which is never going to give superstar numbers. Either these directors will have to change ways or make very small films because if our bigger films are going niche then it will be shut up shop time will be close.

  58. “I still haven’t got my due as an actor from the industry” – Akshay Kumar
    ByBollywood Hungama News Network
    Aug 10, 2017 – 11:48 am IST

Considered to be one of the most lovable and bankable stars in Bollywood, Akshay Kumar still feels that his star-power has not got its due in Bollywood even when his films have a relevant social message and do well. He does have two decades of masala films and critically acclaimed narratives behind him.

Akshay feels he still has not got his due as an actor, “I still haven’t got my due as an actor from the industry. I just got the National Award and the Padma Shri 8 years ago. That is recognition from the government, not the industry.” Akshay whose latest film, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, revolves around the lack of toilets in households in India, also spoke about the importance of such a film and what is in store for the audience. “Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is a comedy. Stories of five-six real people have been merged to make this into a tale of one person. Of course, as the title suggests, there is a love story as well, but above everything else, it has entertainment value and driving home a message”, Akshay said.

On detaching himself from the box-office of his movies yet taking off to some place before his movie releases, Akshay stated, “Well, anyone would be nervous, but I’m lucky that I get to experience it three-four times a year. I feel less nervous than those who have only one film a year because then, the pressure is more. At the most, I’ll be sad till the weekend. Also, it’s not that I want to vanish when my film releases, as some sections of the media report. For example, I’ve taken a 15-day break from the schedule of Gold in London, to promote Toilet – Ek Prem Katha. Once this film releases, I’ll return and resume shooting as people are waiting for me there.”

Toilet – Ek Prem Katha stars Akshay Kumar opposite Bhumi Pednekar. Talking about his heroine, Akshay is all praise about his screen wife (Jaya) Bhumi Pednekar ‘I’d say Bhumi is a very brave actress to take on a role like this, knowing fully well about the open-defecation scenes. Though she was properly dressed and all precautions were taken, to do a scene where you are pretending to defecate in the open takes a lot of courage. More so with the crew around.”

“I loved the script and felt that if it can change my mind-set, it can change others’ as well,” he added, talking about how it changed his attitude about the problem. “In the beginning, I didn’t know the statistics of the number of people who attend to nature’s call in the open. I was also unaware that about 30 per cent of the rapes happen when women attend nature’s call in the open. You have pervert men waiting in the fields for these women with camera phones. So, open use of the toilet is spiralling into other social evils.”

    • “Well, anyone would be nervous, but I’m lucky that I get to experience it three-four times a year. I feel less nervous than those who have only one film a year because then, the pressure is more.”

Well said. The younger lot should take cue from him and start doing 4-5 films a year. Thats how today’s superstars used to slog in their initial days in nineties. Thats how they have created a stable fan base. Doing 1-2 films a year only increases the pressure. Aamir had started this 1 film a year business in the mid-nineties when it was considered a bad move and a career suicide. Not many believed he could survive his stardom with such a decision. Luckily his script sense helped him a lot. Then everyone started to follow at some point and it became a norm. Akshay has done well to stick to his 4 films a year formula and has also succeeded in raising the bar of his films recently. If the younger guyz like Varun, Ranveer or Ranbir want to be superstars, they need to work a lot more.

One can only imagine the stress when you have one film a year and so much of your career depending on one weekend business. With the current bad run at BO, these stars are looking and sounding v strained during their release. Ranbir seemed out of sorts in the interview he gave during first screening of JJ. SRK seemed sad during Paani Foundation event that he attended on Aamir’s behalf. Now Akshay is sounding sore about not getting his due in the industry.

      Like

      • Everyone cant work in 4 films because there are no scripts lying. And promotions take a toll on star’s health. It is not that done with the completion of films. You have to slog for months on promotions. Anushka even fell ill. Ranbir failed because he did not have control over the film or he has deep knowledge. Salman and Srk trusted their fanbase. Akshay will also burnout one day due to excessive work demands.

        Like

        • Akshay is a work horse and one has to appreciate his stamina. SRK and Salman dont need to slog as they are established superstars and can make a fortune with every film they produce and act in, even if it flops (both TL and JHMS have made big producer profits). For Aamir it is his style of working.

The point is that, if the younger lot does 1-2 films a year, their chances of delivering the genuine hits reduces a lot. But its a different matter if you have a Dutt in hand.

          Like

        • He meant in their initial years they have to make 3-4 films a year. Thats how much you can work..if you give a little rest to your other assignments including affairs and holidays, then you can build up a body of work and even if a few fail there are others to back up. there were none of these month long promotions also before, so ofcourse they had more time. Nowadays you have to do it. Anyways, someone like Ranbir shudnt just be doing one film a year..you are wasting away your youth. Aim for three, so you will atleast get two. In an interview I remember rishi kapoor saying he had like a dozen films at the same time..so he was never home..

Mubarakan is not in the mood to fall or crash. The 2nd week of Mubarakan is proving out to be a real surprise of 2017. After starting on an average note, this film has achieved milestones. Read on to know the box office progress of the film.

The film is shining with every passing day stepping over its competition and emerging as a winner. It released with Indu Sarkar, struggled against Dunkirk and Lipstick Under My Burkha and faced a great competition from Jab Harry Met Sejal. Mubarakan stood out amongst all odds and it has sustained very well at the box office in its 2nd week.

The film collected 35.66 crores in its 1st week. It was the week when Lipstick Under My Burkha was trending very well and Dunkirk was rising as a favorite. Still, Mubarakan made its mark. It had the pressure of Jab Harry Met Sejal releasing in its 2nd week but everything vanished as Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma starrer was bashed by everyone.

Mubarakan enjoyed a decent 2nd weekend of 6.08 crores. It was seeming the film will go downhill from now but 2nd Monday which was a partial holiday (Raksha Bandhan) was a big surprise. The film collected 2.85 crores on 2nd Monday and 1.45 crores on 2nd Tuesday.

The film witnessed just 17% of drop on its 2nd Wednesday displaying the steady as rock trend. It has collected 1.21 crores on its 2nd Wednesday which is very good considering a number of screens it has retained. The film now stands at the total of 47.25 crores. In all of the probability, more screens will be added to the film from this Friday.

    1st Week – 35.66 cr
    2nd Weekend – 6.08 cr
    2nd Monday – 2.85 cr
    2nd Tuesday – 1.45 cr
    2nd Wednesday – 1.21 cr
    Total – 47.25 cr

BB2 showed what people want. That is why I think Gomaal 2 returns will be the film to watch out for really big numbers. While Baadshaho has sleaze incorporated and that will be a big put off for family audience.

Thankful for the love you continue to show it. Ya toh aapka lagav gehra hai, ya film 3D thi..big hug.” For those who couldn’t understand the last sentence, it was a modified version of a famous Dil Chahta Hai dialogue, that is, “Ya toh yeh dosti gehri hai ya yeh photo 3D hai.” It was mouthed by Sameer (played by Saif Ali Khan) when he’s nervously showing the picture of him, Akash (Aamir Khan) and Sid (Akshaye Khanna) to Pooja (Sonali Kulkarni), a girl he likes. The dialogue was loved and became iconic. It was witty of Farhan Akhtar to tweet in reference to this dialogue and leave a mark.

For me, it’s Mujse Dosti Karoge. The movie when it released had everything going for it from starcast, director, music, production house, etc… the movie was actually well made for it’s genre and the music was good too (all of these were in demand at that time). I’m still shocked that movie had not set the boxoffice on fire.

Can’t think of a movie that became hit where I felt it wouldn’t work.

    • yeah z – it was good but the conflict was completely missing for the most of the part and it was diabetically sweet -also the DTPH and DDLJ hangover was largely looming – Kunal Kohli failed to offer anything new – 18 songs (many were hummable) needed some mettle like barjatya to weave in a film….kareena unfortunately has never been part of a BO superhit romance (barring 3i and maybe 1 or 2 more)….it needed some fresh treatment

    • It all depends on the mood of the audience. Sholay worked but the more sophisticated Shaan did not work.

    • ADHM not posting big numbers is also debatable. It had fantastic music, Ranbir, Ash and a beautiful lovestory, feel good scenes, backstory, promos, controversies everything going for it. Raag Desh came and went so silently. Even Bengal did not patronise it. If Tubelight came before BB, it would have been a big hit. BB and Sultan raised expectations and so Tubelight fell.

      • You feel Tubelight should have been hit, after watching it?

ADHM did fine I think for what it was. May be should have done about 10 to 15 crore more but that’s it. Controversies were not good ones, it’s one of those controversy which kept people away from seeing that movie. Ask Rocky.

    • Hrithik is not good at emotional scenes, he overacts – I feel that movie was a weak version of DTPH both musically and acting wise.

Tempting to put Kapadia’s Jab Jab Teri soorat Dekhon….jaane jaana song from the same movie where she made love in the haystacks with hairy Anil all over her. But this song of Kishore is an all time favorite and really liked Dimple with her thumb sucking part.

    • Again, the concept of this discussion is “After Watching the Movie”…

After you watched Jaanbaaz, did you think the movie would be hit?

I didn’t think it would be hit after watching it. It was slow, Firoz looked old and the charm of Qurbaani was missing. Even the songs (althou good) were not up to Qurbaani level.

      • I felt this for Baadshah. I came out liking the movie but later found out it had bombed. Those days we never bothered about box office earning and liked or disliked a movie to our own whims and fancy. JBJ was not too bad and don’t know why it bombed. Even KANK was entertaining except for that nonsensical ending.

JHMS and srk other last 3 films did more views in youtube then cinemas, maybe srk should look into this youtube business its lucrative and will have views in millions.. ” just saying ” maybe rahul or raj might work..just a thought this might reach srk or their fans can convey it rather then giving silly excuses of clash of rakesh roshan or sanjay leela baansali calculators and oops forgetting also srk special calculator which was not needed this time as its battery went dead before the release…lol

  67. Waiting for this for Kajol. She is an absolute fav on screen. Wish Rohit had explored her gangsta avtaar a wee bit more in Dilwale. Those were the best scenes in the movie.
