This is of course a terrific film. Scott’s very good about succicntly suggesting the sense the film provokes in the viewer which is largely mysterious.
One can’t really find fault with Contempt’s visuals though. I actually love that first shot referenced here where Palance tears through the road separating Bardot from her husband, driving right between them in that great red convertible. Talk about foreshadowing!
