Mumbai Gets Its Own Walk of Fame
“If staring at Bollywood stars’ houses, waiting patiently for them to go grocery shopping, or living vicariously through gossip columns is not enough for you, there’s India’s brand-new, star-studded walk of fame.
Inspired by the Hollywood original, UTV Stars, a new Bollywood channel, is introducing its own “Walk of the Stars.” Slated to open on Wednesday, the walk spans a 2-kilometer, or 1.2-mile, stretch along the Bandra Bandstand Promenade in Mumbai.
The sea-facing promenade will feature the handprints and signatures of Bollywood stars embossed on brass plates on tiles along the path. Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore, Meena Kumari, Shammi Kapoor, Shabana Azmi and Sridevi are among the stars featured.”

Pray why not OG? Does BW have exclusive rights on making trash? Lets not look at supply-demand side of economics…but as a consumer you have prerogative to not buy tickets (to movies or trashy award shows or sidewalks with stars) 😉

So actually you are agreeing with me. 😉

Very different situations, because I might *want to* walk that way. It looks like a pretty and pleasant enough esplanade.
It might be they way to where I want to go etc etc while I go to cinema hall *only* to watch a film which can be avoided.

Even in Hollywood, someone like Sonam wouldn’t get a mention on the Walk of Fame just yet. She’s only had a couple of mild successes, she still has a long way to go.

We don’t pay attention to award functions (other than a form of entertainment) then why should we pay attention of who got a star on some walkway. Apparently there are more walk ways like this planned. If you have enough money they will put one for you too. Of if you are famous film star you will get paid for your finger prints. Who cares. It would be a nice place to hangout and eat icecream with g.f.

Pathetic. Bollywood needs to stop pretending to be Hollywood- its very embarrassing and now becoming borderline delusional.

Appearently Aamir Khan has refused to be inducted into this concept when asked by UTV to be apart of it. I say, good for him.

‘it was the best of times,it was the worst of times.it was the age of wisdom,it was the age of foolishness(a tale of 2 cities)’- i do not see too much of a problem with this ‘walk of fame’.yes it does reek of unoriginality and inaneness but so r a lot of other things. the brighter side of the thing is that atleast bcos of this our old bwood stalwarts, who have been forgotten in this age, will again come back into picture.most of people of today, who r oblivious to the actors of past, will get to know them

In Indian Culture it is considered wrong to step on the names or Vidhya… don’t know how the stars will react to this .
