I would watch Robot quickly by fast forwarding to get some idea. Sequel is a standalone movie but watching 1st part is always helpful about to understand 3 roles of Rajnikanth!
The villain of the movie, a giant that is half-human and half-bird, has wings made out of cellphones, and at one point in the trailer, growls: “Every person who owns a cellphone is a murderer.”
For one, after the failure of Yash Raj Films’ action adventure Thugs of Hindostan, euphoria around the idea of the big-screen spectacle has taken a beating. “Thugs was the biggest offering of the year with Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan coming together, and the fact that it was a Diwali release from YRF, one of the biggest banners. This clearly proves audiences are in no mood to spend money on a bad film, no matter whom it comes from,” said a trade expert on condition of anonymity.
While YRF has recovered its investment for Thugs of Hindostan from ancillary rights, theatre owners have incurred losses as theatrical business did not match expectations, said the trade expert. YRF got exhibitors to pay a minimum guarantee of nearly ₹15-16 crore (per theatre) before release and the earnings of the film have resulted in a 60-70% loss for them.
“The buzz around 2.0 is not as high as Enthiran (the first instalment released in 2010),” said Rakesh Gowthaman, managing director of Vettri Theatres in Chennai.
“That film was high on star value with Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai coming together. Plus, Rajni was in the best phase of his career then whereas his recent films haven’t really fared well and his entry into politics hasn’t been accepted wholeheartedly either,” added the trade expert quoted above.
Clearly, 2.0’s content will have to speak for itself. The film’s trailer hasn’t really generated the buzz it should have, and, contrary to reports, the movie hasn’t made massive profits with the sale of ancillary rights before its release. While the satellite TV rights have gone to the Zee Network for ₹110 crore, about ₹80 crore has come from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for distribution rights of the Hindi version.
Producers Lyca Productions are still in the process of selling distribution rights for other languages, but trade experts say that all put together, pre-release revenue will not exceed ₹250 crore. That leaves more than half the investment still to be recovered. The movie will not only have to cross at least ₹100 crore on day one but sustain thereafter to break-even.
Badhaai Ho actors are from tv world or got more fame from tv saas bahu serials. Neena Gupta acted in Starplus serial Saans with Kanwaljeet which was very well received. And Surekha Sikri was the jaan of Baalikavadhu. She is fondly remembered as dadisa even now. You can watch some episodes of Saans on hotstar and Balikavadhu from Voot site where colors serials are shown. To sample how good and how versatile they are. And both serials are not from Ekta Kapoor.
When did I claim I am an expert on tv? I just enjoy watching some tv stuff. Balikavadhu boasts of having Vikrant Massey play an important part. The lead hero Siddharth Shukla played a side role in some dulhania film starring alia and varun.
Before sasbahu/tv, she was in “jaane bhi do yaaro” (I think) and many arty-farty films of from “parallel” cinema days. And who can forget this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nd5NLbUu44
It depends. If your wife is interested in Indian saas bahu, she would have made you sit and watch like I do with my spouse.
And dont start pitying my spouse!
Pakistaani serials are quite good. The two I watched, ended in about 10 or so episodes, start to finish. Interesting insight into their culture, which is quite similar and quite different at the same time (cousin brother love affair and marriage still shocks me) to ours. India also did great serials back in the day, called golden era of television. But yhea, I cannot watch more then few seconds of current stuff. Trash TV. Has anyone watched Mirzapur on amazon? I though Julia Roberts homecoming was quite interesting and well done. We should have a separate thread on serials/netflix/amazon shows. I would love to discuss Haunting of hill house. It was fab.
I know of a relative, husband-wife team, watch sas-bahu serial together and get into fights over issues raised in the serial and have heated debates. It is fun to see them fight. I suppose it is a way to bond.
Swati, there are some good turkish serials also. Two of them were presented in hindi version. I really loved one of them in which Sanjay Kapoor acted as Anant Mathur in the serial named Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara that aired on Star Plus. Produced by Vikram Bhatt.
Aşk-ı Memnu (English: Forbidden Love) is a Turkish romantic drama television series originally broadcast on Kanal D between 2008 and 2010. It is an adaptation of Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil’s 1899 novel Aşk-ı Memnu set in contemporary Istanbul instead of the novel’s late 19th-century setting. wiki.
Seinfeld is evergreen. Try watching Haunting of hill house though. It is not the horror that will make you like it. I also do not like horror genre. But this is delicious in its various flavors. Thanks for the turkish drama reccos. I will try to get hold of it.
I watched The Haunting of Hill House now. Delightful for sure. Not scary but very internally demonic. I do think it peaked to early but overall this was a fascinating watch.
I have many UK friends who religiously watch some Indian TV soaps and discuss them too. Most of the girls on IF are NRIs. Some of them can compete with Satyam and Q in writing skills! I can give names but I need their permission.
Agree most of the soaps are meh.
Munna, in last thread u asked: “ps – How does chukki align with Akshay? because he works too much on small projects?” – nothing wrong with small projects but he goes in the same fashion – round-n-round and with monotony only a chakki wud do….isn’t it obvious?
but lets not spoil the akki-fans’ mood now…..although i m not a fan, but wud still put him above srk at present….:-)
More than Vinod Khanna, I just like the fact that Feroz Khan apart from directing his fav film went to play a sidey character in such a big movie. No insecure actor would have done that role when he himself can do any movie as leading man. This was right after Jaanbaaz too. Feroz Khan as creative director doesn’t get huge applauds but he didn’t do a harakiri by trying to play himself Dayavan in his own home production movie. Respect for that!
Won’t do as much as I had thought in the Hindi version. Even in Bangalore there are hardly any shows in Hindi, max screens are playing Tamil / Telegu versions. Not sure if that is the release strategy for Rajni movies.
And the buzz is not that high either, surprisingly.
I know we have few rehman fans here but i’m not sure why anyone takes rehman. He is probably one of the most overrated music director ever in hindi cinema. YES, he gave some great music early on and some great songs, but i can’t think of anything worthwhile in last 10 years (probably more). I mean what is his last hit soundtrack in hindi films?
Bombay is probably overrated. Roja was much better.
Dil Se is probably Rahman’s best to date. Rangeela and Taal hold very little value today, at least IMO. There’s probably one song from these two albums (Nahin Saamne) that I’d still want to listen.
Zubeidaa (Dheeme Dheeme, Mehdi Hai Rachne Waali), Takshak (Khamosh Raat, Rang De) and even 1947/Earth (Rut Aa Gayi Re, Dheemi Dheemi) are much better albums, IMO.
Saathiya is a rehash of Alai Payuthey with some terrible lyrics. I think that’s something unforgivable (shoehorning lyrics). Lagaan is probably the best out of the lot. Organic and rusty beats. I like Yun Hi Chala Chal from Swades quite a lot.
I quite liked JTYJN and Ghajini when the movies came out but don’t hold them in great esteem now. I do like Kaise Tum Mujhe Mil Gayi even today but that’s probably got more to do with the song picturization — not the song itself.
Pukar and Yuvraaj aren’t that great, IMO. There’s one album (Highway) that I’ve heard good things about, but have never given a listen. I need to watch the movie as well.
Key Sera Sera is a great one. I can’t remember the name of the one picturised on Namrita Shrirodker, that was nice. Tu Mere Dost and Tu Muskara from Yuvraaj are nice. I even don’t mind some of JTHJ album though nothing really worthy. He has reduced volume and quality relative to past is less but barely anything is!
More than anything what is the last major film that delivered a truly good all round soundtrack? The only one that comes to my mind is Dabanng in 2010. Some cracking songs there.
I will point to Amit Trivedi’s body of work — Lootera and more recently, Manmarziyan. 2 Songs from Bhavesh Joshi are superb as well. I quite liked Andhadhun’s music as well. 3 of these albums have come in this year alone! Aaj Se Teri from Padman is a chartbuster too — again from this year.
He has done some great work overall — Dev D, Kai Po Che, Queen, Fitoor, Udta Punjab, Udaan, Aamir, Aisha, No One Killed Jessica, Ishaqzaade, Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Ghanchakkar & Bombay Velvet!
Phew, that’s some list right there. In between he has some songs that are very good (Love You Zindagi from Dear Zindagi) but the overall album isn’t all that great. And if I count his MTV Coke Studio work as well, this list becomes really big.
I don’t know if you’ve seen Barfi — I think that’s Ranbir’s best film fill till date. Tamasha is pretty good too. Quite liked it, overall.
Mohit Chauhan’s voice does seem to suit Ranbir and I quite dig the ARR-Mohit Chauhan combo (Masakali, almost the entire Rockstar album, Khoon Chala from RDB and Matargashti from Tamasha).
Barfi is up there, with Rocket Singh and Tamasha. I quite liked APKGK and YJHD too. I haven’t seen Rockstar yet. Ranbir is pretty easy on the eye as an actor but has made poor choices. He seems to just fit the rom-com or coming of age world only. I found him awful in Rajneeti. He’s good again in Sanju.
ARR has not scored for a commercial biggie in Hindi for a while. His recent releases in Hindi (last 2 years) are mostly 1947 Partition, Tamaasha types and naturally would be tied to the fate of the BO and not chartbusters. I also stay away from the dubbed numbers as the translation is horrendous (the difference of 2.0 in Tamil vs Hindi or Saathiya for example). His straight Hindi films are brilliant and no one comes close IMO and I dare say in majority of music lovers case. He is busier now in Tamil scoring for massy commercial films with the likes of Rajni, Vijay and Ajith to reclaim lost footing in his home ground so to speak. He is also into production now (ARRived series on Youtube, 99 songs where he wrote the story and LeMusk which he is producing). He has become a full time businessman with non stop concerts and milking his brand (very similar to SRK). Coming back to his music, please speak for yourself when you say he is over rated. I am a South Indian and generally do not care for Hindi films and music at all. RDB is probably the only guy I will listen to and in the current crop Amit Trivedi is decent. Again speaking for myself, I have not seen a more complete versatile genius across languages, genres and a pan India phenomenon like ARR. I am a fan since 1992 when Roja first came and pulled the rug from under every musician across India including the almighty Illayaraja who is another genius. Yesterday, I was playing Tum Tak from Ranjhanaa on loop along with the Tamil song Bhoomi Bhoomi from Ratnam’s latest. Of course, he has hit a creative plateau from the 90s/early 2000s version, but I will still take ARR over any contemporary guy anyday. I think the ones that consider him overrated are in the minority anyway.
Incidentally Trivedi was inspired to become a musician after listening to Rahman’s Thiruda Thiruda, there is a youtube video where he analyzes that soundtrack which in 1994 was so ahead of its time. I do understand that kind/style of music is not for everyone. Thiruda Thiruda also happens to be my favorite ARR album, followed closely by Dil Se (the Tamil version Uyire is superior imho)
Krish mentioned a distribution mess up on Hindi side.
Delhi Iconic theatre Liberty Cinema is showcasing #BhaiajiSuperhit tomorrow. That itself says how strange promotion and release strategy have been for #2Point0 distribution team in Hindi Market .
Hope movie lives up to the hype as huge opening looks to be out of equation now. https://t.co/T2n6sg3qaH
‘Neena just not acted but actually wrote and directed Saans. I beat you even in serials, haha!’
This superiority and ‘I’m the best’ attitude is the reason for the decline of Shahrukh as his fan(atics) do behave in the same manner despite Shahrukh’s box-office pull being at the continued downwards slope yet hailing him as ‘KING, BADSHAH AND BEST EVER’ despite the ‘obvious results!! Delusion can bring about the downfall to the bestest on their knees and it’s only the dawn of ‘realisation’ that they are past it which can help them cope with the ‘reality’ than ‘their continuous fixation with the past’!! Noone is infallible or invincible including Ram and Krishna; so rather than attaching too much importance to oneself, one should keep working towards one’s goal regardless of its success or failure as both would come sooner or later & are inevitable in life. Those who are stuck in past would pave way for the new ones as ‘now’ is the reality. And all this is true for ‘each & everyone’ irrespective of their exalted status as this is how life goes. So let’s be rational than fanatic which can diminish a lot of negativity in us.
Are you for real? For a funny retort you are taking the discussion to another level. If you don’t understand the retort you can ignore and move on. Don’t need to teach me or anyone about life as everyone is enough experienced in their lives here!
I wouldn’t indulge in name calling as you are used to! Only you are an ‘expert’ on everything from beating them in their game and flaunting as if a new revolution is on its way, all other are ‘Novices’ except you!! Giving others ‘gyan/education’ is your habit in the form of so called ‘retort’ & when confronted, your responses are ‘I know it all’! Thy name is ‘confrontation’ with a n air of conceitedness and vanity! As long as one is favourable and receptive to your views, everything is fine but going contrary to your views is kind of blasphemy which then makes you come down to personal attacks and offensive. My apologies, if I hurt your ego as that was never my intention but your interpretation of my comment made you do that as it was an innocuous comment but ‘you being you’ could infer what nobody else could hence the ‘sting’.
Lol I almost feel dumb sharing a KRK video, but I think a lot of what he is saying has merit and it’s what I’ve been hearing – If the filmmakers form the south aren’t careful, these damn bollywood producers will destroy their films as well..
Yeah basically Karan and AA FILMS (Anil Thadani) are releasing 2.0 together. But AA Films told exhibitors that they need to give KGF (upcoming Kannada film) 40% of the screens when it releases (it is clashing with Zero) AND to pay 10 lacs per theater as a minimum guarantee AND keep the ticket prices the same as Thugs AND reserve screens for some film called Cheat India, which is clashing with Manikarnika.
The exhibitors did not agree to anything, so then AA Films started dropping one condition after the other but the exhibitors still did not agree, which hampered the Advance Booking. Not really clear what the situation is right now and how many screens its getting
He says some half BS about Akshay-KJO and Thugs, and 2.0’s story being a flop because it is about Akshay Kumar playing a villain trying to save birds etc, but not its worth translating
Murky stuff. I hope 2.0 gets a proper release, the effort is so obvious that it deserves proper showcasing. Otherwise whats the point of cinema, might as well watch Netflix!
It’s business looks like business comes before friendship in the industry even though I’m surprised Karan would try to do this with srk, it’s interesting wonder anyone knows the real reason Karan is after zero like this
I guess the game started when it was revealed that producers of Zero is trying to negotiate on the second week screens with exhibitors to ensure Simbaa’s release gets impacted.
Once this got revealed, KJo used his 2.0 and has got away with it. Simbaa will see a huge release now.
So what KRK is saying is rubbish.
For the first time probably we would see an All india review together. Its not easy to touch the sensibilities of people of such a vast country, ethnicity, language, clothings, style, surroundings and sensibility. This is absolutely fabulous as we now also have social media to track the responses.
This guy thinks it can be huge hit 😁
KRK
@kamaalrkhan
Many people are trying to do negativity of #Zero but still it will become the biggest hit of 2018 and nobody can do anything to stop.
@iamsrk
Zero has all the potential to be a BIG Hit, and probably the biggest of the year…. no doubt.
SRK is looking chilled out after a long time. His playing a dwarf is taken brilliantly by his character as shown in the trailer. The character is happy, chirpy, ambitious and outrageously romantic.
Anushka is a very good actress. This could be her biggest film.
The movie needs something surprising to meet the expectations. The spaceship and reference to moon is intriguing and would do the trick if shown in the narrative.
Early reports about 2.0 point to a visually stunning tight film from the extremely competent director Shankar.
More than Rajni, Akshay will win, with his villain act. He has talked about how sweaty and horrible he felt whiledonning the complicated villain costume. Hard working guy. Deserves a huge hit.
Did someone really say in the last thread that Aamir’s recent interview will make ToH a flop in China? This is what happens when morons talk about an interview without even watching it. But then, these are the same people who trolled ToH before watching the film.
Read that another comment that Netflix wont bring any technical know-how to MB but Ambani would have! This blog is the best stand-up comedy show online …
China Box Office Preview: 102 Not Out is looking to make $3M on 3-day opening, while Crazy Rich Asians should debut with $2M. But A Cool Fish would keep ruling the session with $15-20M on the weekend. #CrazyRichAsians#102NotOut#ACoolFish
‘2.0 is visual magic with a good universal message’
“#2Point0 -My rating 4.25/5. Enjoy. Final half hour attagasam. Visual magic with a good universal message. #SuperstarRajinikanth remains King. Evergreen! @rajinikanth @shankarshanmugh. Hatsoff @akshaykumar for all the makeup efforts and a powerful role. @iamAmyJackson is a breeze,” journalist and trade analyst Kaushik LM said via Twitter.
‘Thoroughly enjoyed 2.0’
Journalist and trade analyst Surendhar MK posted on Twitter, “#2point0: A BREATHTAKING AUDIO-VISUAL POWERHOUSE. Thoroughly enjoyed the film. Easily lives up to the reputation of being the most ambitious Indian motion picture ever. 25-min-long climax stadium sequence was jaw-dropping fun 🔥 🔥 @shankarshanmugh saar VERA LEVEL 🙏🙏”
2.0: Quick take
Indianexpress.com’s Priyanka says, “Looks like an Akshay Kumar show. Rajinikanth said at an event recently that 2.0 is “Akshay’s film” and Thalaiva might be right if the first half of this mammoth film is anything to go by. 2.0 starts with the Crow Man in an intriguing and powerful sequence. What follows is the Crow Man snatching away every cellphone in the city. As he creates mayhem, the need for Chitti, the robot, is felt not only by the people in the film but also by the audience, which consists of mostly Rajinikanth fans. The face-off between Chitti and Crow Man is undoubtedly the most exciting sequence in the first half. The film looks superlative as far as the VFX is concerned but the story is yet to pick up pace. Rajinikanth in his scientist avatar doesn’t bring much excitement and Amy Jackson seems to have taken her role of a robot literally, passing every scene with a straight face.”
Chennai is in celebration mode as the feedback is very good..north is wait and watch. The movie has typical Shankar does of 18 plus comedy and romance though
Feedback at 8:30 am? IF genuine, then its from very early morning shows which only Rajni fanatics will attend. Movie may be ok, but hold your horses for now … trolling go both ways.
I think genuine reviews have started coming in..check BW..they thrashed kaala..2 shows are donr in Chennai.. looking good so far..its the feedback in hindi belt that’s unknown
And yet, despite the entry of Chitti (Rajinikanth), the film seems to be missing a je ne sais quoi. We get an extravagant clash between Chitti and the giant bird, but that’s all. Unlike its predecessor, the film doesn’t find a way to inject humour and inventiveness into the proceedings. Barring a reference to the famous dialogue from Nayakan, the lines are hardly memorable, and the characters pretty functional. Even the sub-plot involving Dhirendra Bhora (Sudhanshu Pandey), the son of the first film’s villain, Dr Bhora, is underdeveloped.
It is only with the entry of 2.0, which happens a little late than it should have, that the film gets some much-needed energy. As he did in the first film, Rajinikanth digs into this role with his inimitable style and performs with relish. There is even a punch line that he utters after Nila tells him that he is no longer the No 1, that sends fans into a tizzy. Akshay Kumar is also a solid presence as the antagonist whose heart is in the right place. And the climactic battle between 2.0 and Pakshiraja ensures that we get the bangs we deserved for our bucks. Even though some of the surprises in this segment have been let out in the trailer, Shankar manages to pack in a cute, little surprise that’s 3.0 aka Kutti. If only had he found a way to get these two characters into his plot earlier, 2.0 would have soared.
This seems to be hitting the middle ground. IF this does not work as good ‘masala’ for the masses, the BO results will turn out to be average. In short, it may fail to make the masala fans ’emotional’ …
**********************
“The plot of 2.0 feels familiar; in fact too familiar. There is no mystery in the supernatural occurrences that we see on screen, and for the entire first half, we are forced to wait for the mandatory flashback involving Pakshirajan (Akshay Kumar), the ornithologist who is the old man who we saw at the start of the film. Even the flashback doesn’t hit us hard emotionally the way similar episodes in the director’s Indian and Gentleman made us feel. There is a distinct sense of just going through the motions in the first half. But, by now, plot is not what we go to Shankar’s films for these days. It is the grand canvas in which this director mounts his oft-told stories that makes us look forward to his films. And in 2.0, we get spectacle that is satisfying. In the first half, we get some striking visuals – mobile phones crawling on the road, a forest of glowing phones, a monstrous bird that crackles with energy. There are also visual nods to Hollywood films like Aliens, Terminator 2 and even Ghostbusters.”
The VFX is beyond excellent and you can only enjoy it in 3D. The first half moves incredibly fast but be prepared to get super confused. There are scenes where the phones force a man to swallow them and then burst inside his body. That’s murder number 1! Sorry for the spoilers (NOT). Chitti’s entry is not as dramatic and Massy as I’d hoped. What saves this incredibly disappointing and confusing first half is the bit before the interval. You’ll know when you watch it. Hopefully, the film will get interesting now! Stay tuned with us for the complete review of 2.0 here.”
How many receptions are these two having or are they just doing parades for designers to showcase the new clothes everyday? Which hindu bride wears all white in India? Shaadi in bollywood is reality tv with blow by blow descriptions of very “private” people. Nickyanka are next.
the theatres are surprisingly unoccupied in the evening shows on first day near me in Delhi. talking about delhi multiplexes. tamil version is slightly better but no great shakes.
North will probably be lagging. whatever the case is, this isn’t going to be a Bahubali in the hindi version for sure.
.#2Point0 is a BIG Spectacle reports @iFaridoon after watching a 7 am show in #Mumbai. VFX are spectacular but it's the core message of cell phone radiation that strikes the human chord.Rajini style n charisma is superb,Akshay stands tall n shines.Last 30 minutes is a HURRICANE! pic.twitter.com/TGp67VaZlh
Will wait to see how masala fans in general respond to this – first 2-3 days collection trends will make it clear. If masala fans dont go bonkers about it (specially Rajni fans), then I might check it out in theaters on Sunday just for visuals and vfx.

Maybe the movie is really good ..have you considered that scenario ?
Think the movie is going to be fine..I just dont know how much is good enough considering the budget
You are completely clueless about how things work, despite your self-proclaimed ‘contacts’. You dont become ‘smart’ by conning some willingly ‘naive’ members here.
And again this is nothing abt movie being bad or good. And you are the same idiot who shouted Race 3 figures are not over-reported UNTIL you cared to look into the data yourself. LOL
You show your class or lack of it when you abuse..its unfortunate that even after so many instances of abuse you go scot free…I dont need to justify my race 3 argument to you..I still stand by my argument that the extrapolation was not more than 10 cr..honestly i think this site is better off without abusers like you but that’s not my prerogative
And its a sacrilege that moronic comments are not filtered out in this blog. If done, then most ‘abused’ brains in this blog wont be contributing much … errr sorry, lets say wont be trolling much in this blog.
When long-winding terms and phrases are thrown at us, it feels authentic because you don’t know. While the film has its share of explanations, too many, they are dumbed down, to reach the masses I presume. Thus, it becomes more fantasy than fiction. But the on-screen opulence makes up for it. 2.0’s VFX has applaudable detail in the close-up shots — one can almost see the dimension of the phones that mash into bigger forms and objects.
Rip off the visual grandeur and the film is lost. The frames demand to be seen on a humongous screen, and if possible in 3D. You get to see a sci-fi version of Rajinikanth’s introduction card in 3D (It was cooler than Sivaji). I was sold right there. With our industries battling a bloody war with piracy, I think Shankar has won this round.
From these reviews it seems 2.0 and got two essential tick marks – (1) masala ‘hero’giri and (2) good visuals and effects (from indian standards, of course).
No reason why it cant be big in TN or the hindi version to do 125 cr in hindi belts like any other Akshay film (masala or not).
Here are the distribution numbers for 2.0..movie needs 800 cr gross for recovery…tough but not impossible..the TN number is 100 and not 120 and that makes.me feel slightly better..
Needs a worldwide 375 cr share for a hit..hindi will breakeven at 155 cr as share is 77cr…hindi looks like will be easiest to achieve here…the number for telugu and Tamil are harder to achieve…overseas will need around 160 cr for recovery..overall world wide gross of 800 cr needed
300 cr ‘share’ needed in India for recovery … Great that it makes you feel good!
I am happy that producers are not losing money on this no matter what. At least those who made the film with 3-4 years of blood and sweat have got their due.
The story of 2.0 revolves around mobiles and its networks which is killing birds which in turn has become a threat to humanity. Writer and Director Shankar have to be applauded for making such a relevant story into a movie with the Superstar. He succeeded in conceiving an interesting plot but failed in engaging the audience with the screenplay. The first half of the movie takes to set the plot up and second half bores for a lot of time. When everyone thinks that the movie is finished, the story begins again and this time it gives us ticket worthy entertainment. The VFX of Chitti character seems like an animated character in the long shots of introduction scenes. To sum up, a need of the hour story made with two superstars of Indian cinema by a visionary director is what brings people to theatres and they give us a film to watch happily this weekend.
3 star reviews on average for this kind of film is quite ok. It implies the film is likely to satisfy core fans of the star and genre.
As I have said before, neither Race 3 nor ToH BO collections were more than 130 cr nett range. I doubt if 2.0 will go much beyond this range by the end of its run, which will be 10-15 days.
So, is the most expensive Indian film ever mounted worth all the money that has been sunk into it? It looks and sounds great for most parts. It whizzes by thanks to the breathless action and the dazzling VFX. 2.0, however, would have been a greater film had the screenplay dared to go beyond the known tricks of the genre.
Not happening…BB2 is a distant dream. TOH had a shot but blew it. Akshay would be happy with breakeven from Hindi as that will still be his biggest film ever! And growingly it’s apparent he is a focal point here, the better posters were his and he seems to have a decent amount of the role here to claim his share of kudos.
Raj Kapoor’s ancestral haveli in Peshawar to be made into a museum: Pak minister
Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the government planned to turn the ancestral Kapoor haveli into a museum following a request from Raj Kapoor’ s son Rishi Kapoor.
Watching 2.0 back-to-back – first, the 6 am Tamil show with die-hard Rajini fans at Mumbai’s Aurora cinema and then in Hindi – was an unforgettable experience. The film has loads and loads of entertainment, and an excellent social message too, and doesn’t bore even for a nanosecond! There’s no forced timepass or humour or even obstructing songs in this 150 minute long fare and the focus is solely on the story. Rajinikanth as expected is outstanding to say the least. In the second half, he’s an absolute riot and not just fans, even non-fans are bound to cheer for him. Akshay Kumar has limited screen time but his menacing looks and terrific performance is something to watch out for. He has some crucial sequences in the second half where he steals the show. Amy Jackson is the surprise package of the film and is highly entertaining. VFX is never before seen in an Indian film and it’s bound to leave viewers spellbound. Finally, director Shankar deserves all the praise. He knows the pulse of the audiences and gives them a film which is entertaining, massy and also touching. Bollywood has so much to learn from these excellent South directors. S S Rajamouli proved it with Baahubali and now Shankar just confirms it! All in all, 2.0 is the pride of India and missing it is a crime!
2.0 full movie leaked online by Tamilrockers, Rajinikanth fans discourage piracy
Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 was on Thursday leaked online by Tamilrockers. Fans are urging authorities to take action against the piracy website.
Earlier this month, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s Thugs of Hindostan was also leaked by Tamilrockers. Vijay starrer Sarkar was also the website’s victim. Hollywood movies like Venom and various shows, including Anurag Kashyap’s Sacred Games, have also found their way on the site.
Tamilrockers has been a source of worry for production houses and distributors in south India. They have consistently leaked and uploaded movies and TV shows a few hours after their release, and often in high definition (HD) resolution.
Dont be so sure. Enthiran found more takers in its TV runs than in theaters (at least for the hindi speaking audience). Theater watching is a dwindling business in India.
TV is fine IMO. Quality on TV I can live with, I’m not so precious there. But watching a poor copy of a vfx film on laptop? Even munna doesn’t do this 😀
I had watched Robo on a good quality youtube version. I wont spend one cent on any Rajni film even if you shoot me point blank. Only reason I saw Enthiran was coz it was a Shankar film. Didnt mind spending a few bucks to watch Ai in theaters, but its another story that Ai was quite a terrible film!
While I was growing up I had a liking for Rajni, Satru, Raj Babbar – I have no idea why. I don’t know whether it was a ‘father’ or ‘uncle’ likeness but now can’t stand any of them. I don’t see the fuss on Rajni at all.
He is already watching it back to back today skipping his work … trying hard to find his idol under all those make-up and a few scenes in a Rajni vehicle.
LOL … sounds funny although i didnt get the nuances of ur references.
I am anxiously waiting for the resident trolls to show their ugly smelly behinds, so that Munna/Satyam can bask in the glory of one BO thread a day with 400-500 comments each!
The ideal tv bahu in saas bahu is a devta type. She loves all her haters and also prays for them and for their success. There are too many devtas on tv soaps and I just took one example.
till now, the overall feedback smells above average. movie is a visual treat, but there are a few undoings in screenplay in second half.
Rohit Vats has given it a 2.0
Trade expecting 100 cr gross in all versions in india on day one, which is 75-80 cr nett and roughly 65% of BB2’s day one figure. From reviews and audience reaction (mainly fans so far), it seems like a weekend film only.
****************
Giving an estimated figure of day one box office collection, Johar added, “The Hindi version of the film is expected to earn something between Rs 20-25 crore on the day of its release. If we consider all languages (Tamil and Telugu), the Rajinikanth starrer will touch Rs 100 crore (gross) mark on day one.”
What is the lure here? From any perspective? I don’t get it. Is it cheese? What is it? Can a Rajni fan please explain? I get Salman, SRK, Aamir, Ranbir, Sanjay whoever. I am truly baffled by Rajni love.
His fans are eating man soru for the success of his film. Eating food directly from the floor without plates or banana leaves. It is a tradition in tamil nadu. Many women ate man soru for late Jayalalitha’s recovery.
Welcome to my crazy state…this craziness started after baasha..till then rajini was a star not too different from Vijay or ajith now..baasha took him to non mortal levels
2.0 (Hindi) has taken a good start with morning occupancy of 35-40%. It is being driven by single screens and mid level multiplexes. The high end multiplexes are not collecting as they should be in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkatta. Hyderabad and Bangalore are hardly screening the Hindi version.
The higher ends have not opened too well probably because of the dubbed factor and the Rajnikant type of gimmicks have few takers at the high end multiplexes. Mumbai city will still be good as the single screens are good and collections in Thane are good. Delhi NCR belt will be depending on improvement through the day and this area has a large concentrate of high ends. UP has opened well though.
The late advance may have affected collections at the big multiplexes but it is very minimal affect as the current audience makes the big difference.
If we take it as a dubbed film the South then these numbers are very good as these films hardly have a market outside the Bahubali films. But 2.0 is not the regular dubbed film where the Hindi markets do not matter as this film needs the Hindi markets to do good business due to the film going over budget.
2.0 is only the fourth South dubbed film to open well in Hindi markets after Humse Hai Muqabla (1995), Hindustani (1996) and Bahubali – The Conclusion (2017). The last named is one of biggest openers ever be it dubbed or outright films. The director of 2.0 had also directed Humse Hai Muqabla and Hindustani so has 3 of the 4 biggest south dubbed openers in Hindi markets.
The bigger multiplexes could have been better but its still a solid start and if 2.0 can hold collections at these levels over the the extended weekend it is going to come out with a strong weekend.
Did boi really expect high end multiplex business for 2.0 in the year when AIW made 227 cr, JW made 100 cr and MI6 made 85 cr? They can under-report the latter 2, but that does not change the reality.
Mr Marcua- “I dont know but i pretend” – your knowledge is zero.
You are wounded…get some treatment.
Your are a disgraced Aamir fan and your nonsense is as stupid as you dislike yourself to be.
2.0 movie review: Not worth all the sound and fury
2.0 movie review and rating: 2.0 is dull as ditchwater in the first half, perking up a little in the second, with a half-way watchable Akshay Kumar, and a Rajinikanth coming into his own right towards the end, for a bit.
The real film kicks in post-interval, with the appearance of Akshay’s Pakshiraja, a good man turned bad, out of fear and justifiable anger. The Bird Man will do anything to save his feathery friends, even if it means killing and smashing his way through buildings and cell towers and people who like their hand-sets. Akshay brings some much-required energy to the movie, as well as some moving moments, before he and his glittery gold eyes get encased in metal. By then it’s just a question of how much Shankar will crank it up in the climax. He does, but somehow, none of it sticks after an initial shock-and-awe flash.
I am totally against this groupism which saves a person of the stature of Marcus just because he is a soulless Aamir fan now woulded after the debacle of ToH.
He is disturbed but then the gang comes to protect him.
The reality is that you have already made some 4-5 personal comments against me (typical for a troll), but not one about the film after watching it. Says a lot abt the film …
Marcus – WHat makes you to comment with so much anger and abuses to fellow members? Your comments are at the peak of sadistic mental disorder? Are you aware? Did u get your self checked? I have been asking you becuase you are vomiting everytime. and you cannot hide behind Aamir fans, who are many times better than you.
I will not give my review of 2.0 now as i see Marcus hovering and attacking. I am in a blissful mood after watching 2.0 and i know he is in a corrupt mindframe. So i will post when he goes to sleep
Don’t engage with trolls Naveen. Just go ahead and please give your review. I have 4 shows running locally which will be housefull on weekend. So need to know if I should go watch during the week?
Sad that akshay fan is reduced to ranting and hurling personal abuses after watching the film, instead of feeling good about it. And is still stuck in the mind-frame of trolling ToH.
Marcus is a total disgrace and he is maligning and hiding behind the comments of other Aamir fan groups. I know noone tells him anything and he has become soulless and hurls abuses to everyone.
But he needs to be decontaminated.
Marcus has been abusing anyone even before the release of ToH. His toxic mindset is unnecessarily tolerated. He is beyond repair. He is not even witty. He lacks regards and is immoral in his comments and politics. I am only protesting his behavior.
Yes, he did not abuse me but someone else…but i do not think its right.
The most damage happens when someone holds a miiror to u and u cant accept ur lowly self when u look in the mirror … the damage is more for those who take pride in being fanatics like u.
Does calling Spade a spade, also called fighting?
Are you guys not realising the damage Marcus brings.
He doesn’t have to be abusive.
I am sure he will not agree to many things that you or others say.
But if you see him abusing someone, even though you do not agree to that someone’s views…you should stop Marcus from abusing.
If you are Aamir supporter, you get brownie points and you can abuse anyone and get away it. That’s the norm of this blog. Or else folks like Marcus will be kicked out if every blog out there.
You are abusing the blog. No one gets kicked out. Only comments are deleted or moderated. If we can tolerate you, you should tolerate Marcus too.
We have to live with everyone and that takes some effort. Kicking out is not a solution.
You are just blindly supporting abusive behavior as he’s Aamir supporter. You can kick me out too, I don’t care but I know how abusive do I really get compared to others. I’ve been part of many blogs where they ban for just 1 abuse and I’m regular member for years and I know Marcus won’t survive. Simple as that.
It is different here. Alex survived for years. And still he will be welcomed if he comes back. Alex was banned from BR blog after a few months. If we start kicking out, the blog will become dull. Abuses can be taken care of by moderators.
Sanjana I can explain you as much as I can but only if you care to understand. Go back and check history even before Marcus joined, I’ve always liked out folks being abusive or messing up the blog. There was a abusive srk fan supporter and Z pointed out and then I complained to Satyam that he shouldn’t be part of this blog as he’s crazy abusive fan. He got removed. I’ve always pointed make it a diverse blog with different stars and don’t gang up on minority members like Alex or so. Eventually you just ended having Aamir fans and blog seems good but defeats the purpose of Bollywood movie blog.
I’ve pointed out multiple times that it needs better moderation and Satyam got busy from few years and he can’t devote enough time. Munna alone can’t be 24/7. Earlier it would be fun discussing long comments with Satyam & co and great discussion All we have now are fans and then club others as fans too. Just slotting is happening and fighting over it. Marcus has not seen me during any Aamir movie except TOH and talks as if he knows everything about me. Either ways, the main reason for me reduce frequency is that good comments are way too less and no moderation. Without that it becomes futile to participate in any good discussion.
I think many senior member knows I’m well wisher if this blog over myself and never encouraged to turn it into another fan blog.
I know this is your wish…but it will not come true. 2.0 will do far more than the best case scenario that u want.
This would be the tightest slap on “I dont know but i pretend to be mr smarty pants’ like you.
Congrats Naveen. Too bad z im unable to watch it as they botched up Hindi prints overseas. Hopefully by weekend Il have some good shows. Want to watch in 3D.
Looks like some Aamer fans have gone crazy with double jhataka and shock. Some definitely need psychiatrist help and on the verge of nervous breakdown. They just need to take long break and do some meditation to come out of this difficult time. Hopefully that’ll help.
Naveen, we need Marcus. Have not you seen how Toh was trolled on 3 to 4 threads without break? It is he who stood like a rock and answered them.
You can approach Munna or Satyam if you feel offended.
Marcus – no need to call Krish an idiot. You can surely say what you think without using that word. That has caused this unnecessary fight.
Naveen is only challenging that from what I see. The rest after is just handbags!
Everyone calm down. Take a leaf out of Aamir’s book. Bitch on your own film after 3 weeks of release. If it impacts your life all these fights than you need a break.
Now hug it out like Karan Arjun before munna and co delete your fight, just like Aamir fans hitting delete button on TOH. Deep down such pettiness before Xmas, tut tut.
Aare, the biggest akshay fanatic watches 2.0, comes back and hurls abuses …. this is a moment to cherish not delete!!! Btw, i got a handful of dog biscuits as the pack has now emerged from the ss gutters.
Marcus chill out. Naveen saw your comment to Krish and responded. After that you both went Jackie Chan on each other. It should have ended there.
I don’t think you’re right here, just my opinion. Krish said whatever, agree or disagree it’s just numbers. End there. No real need to call Krish an idiot.
There are X number of people I don’t like here but bottom line if I met them today I will have a laugh and coffee with them. The rest is just handbags.
On the rest I maintain my stance that abuse stars but not each other. If one infers abuse of star as a slight on oneself then apologies in advance. It’s not. I don’t like srk or salman NOT because I don’t like Livewire or Master. If I had to choose good fortune on people I will pick people here whom I don’t like over my favourite star. That’s just my opinion. I prefer Naveen to Aamir because I know Naveen on a blog for 10 years.
I actually have no issues with rajni or srk or salman! They do what they do for a living. But its the fans of their bogus films who are problematic. More so because of the anger they harbor for a guy like aamir. You urself witnessed it during toh release.
TOH discussion is over. End of. The trolls that arrived have left. Guys like Z, Master, Naveen and Krish whom arguments are with are like here for years now. I’m not denying they don’t have likes or dislikes but they have contributed to SS and NG. It’s not fair to bucket them with 5-6 one hit wonders.
I also miss livewire, his abuses I am waiting for.
Marcus, go and read definition of trolls. I’ve been doing blog while you were in diapers. You join later and commenting all older members as trolls is the biggest irony on this blog!
Views on the film? Dies he ever had any except ‘i love masala’ and ‘i m happy licking akki’s ass’ type comments? All aamir fans at least had something to say abt the film after watching toh. But rajni fans are just worshipping their god in twitter and akshay fans are hurling abuses with some petty excuses like how dare you call some random blogger dumb!
If I have to weigh in on the current battles, I’d have to side with Naveen and Master.
There is just no excuse for calling someone an idiot or worse. The same point can be made without denigrating another person. In other words, attack the argument — not the person who made it.
I personally have no issues with Marcus, and I hope he doesn’t have any with me. Even if he does, after reading this post, I’d be ok with it.
I’d rather we all discuss films passionately, fiercely but stay within limits of decency than have a free for all mudslinging contest. That’s a complete put-off for most people.
The other option is to ignore provocative statements. But that’s too difficult to do on a discussion forum, especially when you consider the fact that only the most passionate fans/cine-lovers frequent it in the first place.
Cool, Krrish is as great a genius as he fancies himself. In masala style, he is baap of our scientist rajni. In fact, he shud be playing the lead of super 30.
I guess this comment will make you as happy as u are when u watch zero trailer? Hope it does …
As I said, if comments get filtered on basis of ‘moronic content’, then the trolling wud actually stop from every corner (including my replies to trolls).
I used mannerless brute for Master which I regret. And Idiot is also not complimentary. Once even Jay used to use very strong words and now he mellowed down. We all do this in the heat of the moment. And without this also we can attack.
I also used very harsh words for Rocky which I deeply regret. I like him a lot and also his banter. I handled alex also after a while.
LOL of course I have. Munna has moderated a tussle before with livewire and I. So we are all abusers at some point. Only Satyam, munna, Qalander, Sandhya, Abzee, Tony and Salim haven’t tread the path we have.
They haven’t been on the dark side. They haven’t lived yet! To be honest the most sophisticated abuser was Goodfella. When he abused it was like Rangan abusing a film. Pure magic.
I give yesterday’s fight 5 on 5.
Today’s was like Don 2 or Dabangg 2 – a very bad sequel!
2.0 is not a 5/5 movie. Thats something which cannot be given to any movie. It’s not ICSE Maths exam.
2.0 has its flaws.
The VFX are not consistent through out the length of the movie. You can see few cracks but they are very good in important scenes. And there are many such scenes much more than any other hollywood movie of the same duration and VFX holds really well in those.
2.0 is also not a drama based movie. There are dialogs but just enough to communicate. It is not the typical long dialog emotional entertainer. Such movies does very well if the emotions connect.
2.0 does not belong to any star. There are few starry moments for the fans but just too few.
2.0 does not have any superhit songs. In fact there are no songs at all in first half and in second half songs are used in background.
2.0 doesn’t has a long story to tell. Like any superhero movie it just sits on a plot of good vs evil. Only thing is that it becomes a bit fuzzy on who is evil and who is good.
So if 2.0 is not emotionally stirring, lacks drama, not a star based cinema…is it doomed?
It would have for sure if any other director had commanded the ship.
But Shankar is no ordinary director and he is the real hero of 2.0.
2.0 is a visually stirring movie aided by strong direction, music and technical craftsmanship like cinematography, sound design, background music, camerawork, etc.
It takes about 5 minutes to get comfortable with the narrative style of Shankar. He is not the Rajamouli or Hirani who can ease you from first frame. He doesn’t bring his vision to you. He wants us to come to his vision. And he comes straight to the point. I needed to let myself go to appreciate the movie.
2.0 is an AI movie and goes a lot into technicalities. It shows AI Labs, museum, robotics, physics, etc. It also tries to tell how we as human has got so much involved with technology that we do not care for other species at all. We are like living in a virtual world.
We would have seen forwards on whatsapp about the family using laptops and phones and hardly talking to each other. 2.0 shakes you up more than any whatsapp forwards would. It tries to awaken the human conscience without getting preachy.
Akshay is in an unforgettable role. 2.0 justifies his villainous act to the extent that one starts r for rooting. His virtues ultimately brings him down in what could easily be one of the greatest villain in indian story after Raavan. His screen presence is awesome and evokes fear.
Rajnikant is in total control of the movie. I now understand why Aamir rejected his role saying he cannot visualise anyone other than Rajni pulling the role(s). If not for Rajni…Akshay would have walked away as hero. But it is Rajni’s charisma and acting which makes him keep the balance intact and overall tilt in his favour in an otherwise a strong role that Akshay has.
Amy Jackson surprisingly has lengthier role and is in more frames than Akshay Kumar. She looks pretty and her role is apt for her where she doesn’t have to emote.
Background score is an ace. In fact in few crucial scenes i enjoyed background score more than the actors.
Shankar’s direction is extra ordinary. He is a Tamilian and even in a movie of this scale he doesn’t hide the roots via his depiction. Movie is shot in the streets of Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. This brings a different connectivity and i was able to enter his world.
This is a Tamil double delight Masala Dosa followed by curd rice and a punjabi lassi.
Good thoughts Naveen but doesn’t seem encouraging. If you make too much Hollywood style movie you loose your Indian audience and that’ll show up at the boxoffice performance.
Actually 2.0 is not even a trace of hollywood style film making. And this is what might make someone who is a big sucker of hollywood movies, acually not like 2.0
The film is true blue desi in a highly technical role.
You would not miss much if you skip. The movie is not a great one to be regarded as unmissable. It is one time watch.
My 4 star is a lot because of 3D visuals.
Anyway I am watching season 3 This Is Us at moment.
Sanjana- I recommend this show to you. It’s unmissable. In all it’s glory it will make you laugh at those indian serials you watch.
It’s what every bollywood film promises to be emotionally but generally fails. This is the best emotionally pent up show I’ve ever watched. It takes an awful lot for me to well up, but this show – 1st 2 seasons had me going every episode.
nice write-up naveen.
Do u think it is better than Robot?
Did u watch it in 3D?
You are right about Shankar – he is a deft director and i am sure unlike VKA, he wud have handled the screenplay in a much better way.
Robot was the last Rajni film I saw in a theater and honestly i slept through most of the time… just could not connect with the film. Shankar’s “Mudhalvan” (Nayak in Hindi) remains my favorite film.
LOL! This review explains Naveen’s foul mood (as I expected). He could neither connect ’emotionally’ nor understand even such dumbed down wishy-washy sci-fi angles. [ He still has 4 stars for the film … haha ].
I think this might be worth my time. I was quite encouraged when Jay thrashed ToH … 😛
As an audience, the movie meets your expectation.
I am still bewildered by OTT reaction to the movie as if this is an all time classic. It is not. I don’t think any of Shankar’s film will be called classic, but they are massy for sure. 2.0 is a good one time watch. Was this movie ever meant to be more?
Is it India’s best VFX movie – yes. By a distance.
OTT reaction is mainly by Rajni fans (who are not used to seeing even substandard vfx in the films they watch). Akshay fans will perhaps feel slighted here. Anyways, I am checking this out despite Rajni’s presence. You have just sold one high end plex ticket with your words (boi can breathe esy now!). Prob is hindi shows are too less in number near me. Lets see …
Btw, how is it compared to that outrageous krrish 3?
I am posting this comment once again for Master.
I don’t feel bad for such comments but I feel more bad when you can’t differentiate between real bollywood fans with fav with just fanatics of just 1 fan. Just having more members of your fav should not be the goal here. Most of them like to have group of their own kind. I can get 10 srk fans to join this blog in a day but I’m not that kind and never misuse this blog for something that silly.
I find it very chaotic without moderation(maybe coz I’ve been moderator for multiple blogs) but if people behaves as grownups, blog will survive.
The thing is I am first and foremost an aamir fan than film buff. So I support aamirians silently or otherwise. You can also bring srk fans but they are not lasting. They come for a while, lose interest and go away. No one is misusing and that is in your imagination. If you dont like the blog, you can stay away but you cannot impose your own views about moderation and kicking out new members etc. will not be accepted.
What is there to accept? Anyone will know that I am an aamir fan and films come second to me if they read my comments. I love filmy gossip too more than films.
Awww, you have turned into devta-type now, after watching too many sas-bahu serials. We need some villains too, you know. It is fun reading “mannerless brute”. And you repeating the names you called him over and over and over again by cutting and pasting same comment. Earlier I didn’t even know what names you called him. wink-wink. Did you see movie which An-Jo recommended called Patakha? You are like Dipper/Sunil Grover character. It was a fun watch except for the dumb political message that Vishal tends to distribute freely in his movies that is inappropriate for innocent audience to consume, to say t he least.
And Naveen is nice too. Even when he fights, he is never abusive or crass. I don’t hold anything against a person for being a fan or fanatic for any particular movie star. Though how can someone be fanatic of a movie star other than Amitabh and Rajnikant is beyond me. Aside from work and career stuff that is personal choice issue, good movies, bad movies, Aamir I like for his water foundation work. Salman for his beinghuman foundation. SRK hasn’t done any philanthrophy of note or made difference to society that comes to my mind. Mostly I feel sorry for him for losing his parents so early in life. All three should semi-retire and do good work for society and take age appropriate roles and promote and mentor fresher talents of the country. On side note: has anyone watched Mirzapur? I found it far superior to over-rated sacred games that was mindlessly promoted by vested parties on net. Mirzapur is predictable but fun masala. I would say polished GoW.
Hey…I am a big big Amitabh fan, who isn/t anyway?
But, Off late i only like his few films when he comes in a good role. I still consider ’73-’88 years as the real Amitabh.
I won’t read it but you have to keep to your word. Just set up a blog where we can fight openly with no moderation. I can say bye bye to Master for like the billionth time before he cones back next day!
That deal was only if ToH makes 100m in China. Then we will launch a new blog titled ‘Firangi In Inglishtaan’. All those who enjoyed ToH would be welcome to join (that excludes you Jay!) …
Can we have some sort of rules on abusing, using bad languages, etc…
It common sense and we’re all adults (I assume) so it should be self monitored but not sure why one user is getting away with being so abusive, using bad languages, etc…
Because of personal reasons I’ve not had much of a chance to look at the comments for several days. I will look into it later. If I find people have been abusive despite several chances appropriate action will be taken.
Satyam, hope all’s well with you. Its not about debates(which have always been part of any blog) but the abusive words. I have called out over 5 times and if you ever need, I can point it out.
“Actually munna is taking care and today also he would have done so at a certain time. Yesterday he did.”
Again, its not about literal moderation. It can’t be like one person abuses 100 times and munna keeps deleting 100 messages. That’s not the point. Its about restricting someone from using that kind of language on here by giving warnings.
I generally agree with Master. It’s not possible to micromanage everyone. Some basic guidelines and punishments can be reiterated and as we all know what that would be we know the repurcussions. Permanent bans are unfair. Give everyone a chance even people like Alex may have matured. How someone behaves today is not a reflection of them tomorrow. If I read my comments from NG I would be embarrassed and apologising to many people. Some context and judgement should be applied. I doubt people are intentionally trying to ruin others but just getting worked up – happens to me a lot here. I feel like kicking some chairs or banging my head against a wall.
“otherwise it is dictatorship (delete comments or ban/block commentators).”
NO; Disagree. Having rules and punishments is not dictatorship. That’s civil society. Having no rules and then ban anyone as you wish and leave anyone you like is dictatorship.
There are always unspoken rules.
1. No abuses and coarse language.
2. No personal comments.
Most of the comments start with something about star, then star fans, then fanatics… There are no clear boundaries that this is wrong. Once you point someone, people don’t take it nicely. There will always be rebuttal or finger pointing.
Z, things are not really that bad….:-) if u observe closely, it is mainly Naveen-Marcus kabaddi match going on and both of them like it 🙂 ha ha…..both are mature enough to ignore each other but are not doing that – which means that it is a wilful indulgence! lol….yes crass and foul words can be stopped but not this cat-n-mouse game! let all have some fun 🙂
If you can’t stop someone at least don’t encourage with such comments. You and Sanjana are doing that, giving folks to continue their abusive behavior.
Again, no one is saying to advise someone. But if you say.. this is just fight like brothers and just normal or Idea saying this is all fun and good timepass. You keep repeating we can’t loose members even if they are abusive. That’s encouragement IMO. When things are not Civil, its never good for this blog or anywhere.
I know the blog word.. every blog has its own rules but doesn’t mean this is free world. I requested last time around to ban people for 1 day or 2 days minimum just as a warning when people are hyper. That’s good for anyone including me.
These slanging matches with Naveen were going on even before Marcus entered. Perhaps you did not notice it.
Nothing wrong if I call them as brothers fighting instead of enemies quarelling. Some humour is needed to defuse the tension. You are too serious and when you crack jokes you expect us to take it easy. Just scroll up and see the exchange between you and myselfaamir.
I like both Naveen and Marcus and also you.
Master, u seem to be in a rather harsh mood since TOH released – every comment of ur carries some kind of hidden anger….what’s wrong dude? we don’t ask Marcus or anyone to use abusive language nor we encourage…..however, a healthy discussion, difference of opinion, arguments are the very pillars of this diversified forum…if u take out that, what will remain here? 🙂
The timing of this movie and delayed release has actually benefited 2.0 immensely. When they signed the movie Akshay wasn’t the social actor giving out messages but after Toilet, Padman last year, this is perfect followup where he’s telling everyone to take of environment and birds.
Can’t help but get the feel that most of these positive reviews describing the tacky Vfx as path breaking & spectacular are nothing more than propaganda with a desperate attempt on part of Tamil cinema critics to showcase Tamil cinema as the supreme film making industry in this landmass.
That was till BKB last year. 12 months later he’s singing a different tune. He’s a troll and is unabashed about it. Doesn’t expect anyone to take him seriously, unlike Mr Sen who considers himself an intellectual.
There was some hope in some quarters that after TOH debacle, aamir fans will go away into the sunset and disappear forever.
No hibernation or no farewell happened. Let us welcome December, new releases. And wish for the health and happiness of blog administrators who have given us this space to intereact.
Let us not give them extra headaches.
“There was some hope in some quarters that after TOH debacle, aamir fans will go away into the sunset and disappear forever.”
Again such comments for no reason. I don’t think anyone of the regular members like Z, Krrish, Naveen or myself ever said something or wished for people to go away from this blog even if they are Aamir fans or not. You put such statements without any backup always. Only thing which has been discussed from TOH and now is abusive comments which needs to be stopped. One can debate whole day 24/7 and no one would mind that.
Fire breaks out on sets of film ‘Zero’ in Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan escapes unhurt
Fire broke out on the sets of Shah Rukh Khan starrer film Zero in Film City, Mumbai on Thursday, reported news agency Press Trust of India. Around four fire tenders have been rushed to the spot to put out the fire.
A fire broke out on the sets of Shah Rukh Khan starrer move Zero in Film City, Mumbai on Thursday, reported news agency Press Trust of India quoting police. Around four fire tenders have been rushed to the spot to put out the fire.
Shah Rukh Khan was on the set when the incident took place in the evening, the report said. The actor was unhurt and rushed out of the spot, the police told PTI.
The fire was confined to electric wiring, electric installation, lights, shooting materials, ropes and curtains, Vinay Rathod, Deputy Commissioner of Police told the news agency.
The smoke was seen rising out of Film City in Goregaon. No one was hurt in the fire. The cause of the fire is yet not clear, he added.
The troll Raja Sen, the most disgraceful self proclaimed film critic out there has given this a 3.5/5. I am 110% certain, has this been a Hindi film he’d have puked vomit with a vendetta review of not more than a 2/5.
The one that disgraced him the most was when he rated a 2* to 3 Idiots and issued a lengthy paragraph a week later explaining the reason for his rating. Of course he had a few gems earlier too, a 2* for Sarkar being one of them. Even Chris Nolan wasn’t spared when he spewed rubbish against Inception on twitter and then gave a 4* to an inferior considered Interstellar four years later to compensate. Just like he gave a 4* to an inferior PK after dissing 3 Idiots.
I also remember Raja sen giving 1 star to 3 idiots…did rediff change it later to 2 star, which again is highly underserving for a 4.5/5 super amazing film?
Its not. There’s a difference. Ratings don’t justify the review. Rangan never gave stars but now Film Companion forces him to give stars for his reviews. For 3 Idiots, he repeated multiple times that Hirani has higher standard to be judged after making best movie of this decade (he’s taking about Munnabhai’s).
Either ways now even this will be taken as am supported of Raja Sen when I hardly read his reviews.
Master, I think ratings are given for public consumption. There are many who doesn’t want to read reviews as it contains spoilers. They just look for rating and expect honesty.
Actually giving a rating is not easy. It is most difficult thing to do.
One can have different yardsticks in judging a movie but not when giving a rating.
The most vindictive critic. Just like KRK. Both are same. One is qualified and the other is not. And there used to be Khalid Mohammad writing for TOI group.
I have also been saying that Raja sen is highly biased and a highly compromised critic. He has now moved to Hindustan time…goodness gracious me!
How such people get jobs, i don’t know. At least be consistent to some extent.
I lost my respect when he gave poor ratings to 3 Idiots. That was the day i knew he is onto something. Since then i have been following him. He gave good rating to Sultaan and few other deserving films…but for me damage was done with 3 idiots.
Very handsome looking man and has aged very well. Takes no steroid, leads a clean lifestyle, speaks from heart. And slowly learned acting as well. I feel he has constantly reinvented himself.
‘Sadly, All Things Must End’ – Even Rocky. Sylvester Stallone Hangs Up His Gloves
Sylvester Stallone that it’s up to Michael Jordan, the hero of Creed series, now to “carry the mantle”
After more than four decades and eight movies, actor Sylvester Stallone says he is finally hanging up his Rocky gloves. In a video he shared on Instagram Wednesday, the 72-year-old actor said he was ready to walk away from playing the iconic character, referring to his latest appearance in the recently released Creed II as his “last rodeo.” “I thought Rocky was over in 2006 and I was very happy with that,” he said in the video. “And then all of a sudden this young man presented himself and the whole story changed,” he added, pointing to his Creed co-star Michael B Jordan.
“It went on to a new generation, new problems, new adventures.”
The Creed films are a continuation of the Rocky story, following the retired champ as he faces up to middle age and trains a new protege.
One of the most inspirational series of all time…still gets goosebump. Rocky 1 and Rocky 4 are my all time favorite movie. Everytime i watch them it gives me a spine tingling effect that go man and do something with your life.
This is exactly why masala works for masses. It gives our non-performing non-contributing huge population some hope that Someday they will do Something with their clueless lives. Its like a survival dope for deeply frustrated masses of perpetually ‘developing’ economies. I was pretty surprised to learn at some point that the stallone/arnold type hollywood stars who are worshipped in india are actually looked down upon as b-grade stars in hollywood who makes trash films for the white trash.
2.0 day one in hindi is 22-23 cr nett and 29-30 cr gross as per early tracking. Producers are likely to throw 100 cr gross figure in india for PR marketing. It has beaten Sarkar by a small margin in chennai city thanks to higher ticket prices for 3D. In hindi belt day one is lower than trade expectations.
As witnessed by Naveen’s abusive behavior and brain damage yesterday, non-rajni fanatics are getting traumatized after watching 2.0. Crime rate is expected to increase this weekend. Senior citizens hv requested excess patrolling by habildars in their mohallas. Modi has requested all insecures to migrate to TN and participate in Rajni festival, their next CM.
Few here come to your defense because you are Digvijay singh of Congress. A bull who knows how to blow air via nostrils.
In these tough situation few might need you. But not me.
Shit…22-23 cr on day 1 is quite an upgradation on the earlier prediction of movie not doing well.
How things change…the smell of success can make even a sadist person appreciate life of others.
The world operates on this principle. My enemy’s enemy is my friend. So beware of such friends. They just use and throw away when the time comes. Most unreliable ones. In short term it may work. Just like in politics.

Despite the Superb early mornings, #2Point0 fails to break Vijay's Opening Record in TN. Opens with around 20 Cr Gross which is lower than even Kabali. Not looking Good!. pic.twitter.com/XQA4r5oNar
But, for ‘2.0’, the fans have to wait as the distributor chose not to reveal the hourly premiere tracking. So, the gross total figure from Wednesday premieres and day 1 will be out on Friday in the evening as per India’s time. But, with the information available from the hourly tracking numbers of Thursday, one would be left wondering, what’s happening with ‘2.0’ in the US? The movie has posted around $284 K by 9 p.m. EST on Thursday. If we compare it with ‘Baahubali 2’, the pre-booking collections of ‘Baahubali 2’ crossed 1.7 Million already by this time. For a final collection, we need to wait till Friday evening when the figures from Wednesday premieres and day one (Thursday) combined figures will be out. However, it is very clear that 2.0 is going nowhere near ‘Baahubali 2’ that has posted mammoth numbers by collecting $4.5 million from the premieres and day one and $20 million in its lifetime run in the US sector. The figures from the US are quite disturbing and comparatively, the India’s costliest movie is going really slow than expected. Let’s wait and see if it grows by the day or will maintain the same slow pace.
seems after many years srk will have a legitimate hit n will easily cross other khans n ak 2.0 collections.. however sad to see fans of all the above are trying to malign each other n how.. there is no proper discussion of movies…
All discussions on movies went out the window during ToH release, and that too with tacit approval from satyam/munna. So what do u expect now or during zero release?
Kill them all and we can build again from scratch … but munna/satyam have personal lives to take care of too. So what goes around will come back, no escape. We are just mere mortals.
Yeah it is sad trolling has taken to another level now, regarding zero it does look like he got a big one since chennai express I think zero will take a huge opening weekend if it’s good I think a lot of people will get surprised
You joined the party to just troll ToH, didnt you? Feeling sad for you since Zero is coming soon enuf … going by that trailer, social media as a whole is going to unstoppable.
Nah I don’t think I was harsh on toh, I’ve been use to it for a few years now since I’m a srk fan lol so if anything I’m use to bring trolled, but I’m sure regardless how good zero does other fans will still troll it, the difference is I don’t take it seriously it’s year 2019 almost every actor has been getting trolled
I’ve been around since naachgaana days but never joined till now I would be the guy that would read comments for entertainment, I was like 15years old back then Iol I I remember the battles between tango or last tango and satyam I really got a kick out it and finally joined after years of following this blog after naachgaana was shut down
Good you reminded NG. Joginder was regular member there and still writing basic articles in sites. He’s grown in his field and got invited to Ranveer – Deepika wedding reception as well! Congrats to him!
Does it matter if this guy came from Jupiter or Mars? Or NG in your case? He writes moronic articles all the time which are at heights of stereotypes and competencies from bollywood gossip writers. It takes something to praise him …
sanjana whats you take on how much kedarnath can go upto. my prediction is if its good then around 60-80 crs.. if not then it will wrap up around 40 crs..
Our bald-headed budgerigar and his blistering blundering birdbrain has delivered a visual turkey that hooligans are celebrating, while millions and billions of blue blistering barnacles are waiting for the latest zero offering from the macrocephalic baboon called Ku Klux Khan!
Movie Review: ‘2.0’ Fails on the Science, But Stuns on Imagery
A robot is an apt metaphor for an Indian superstar. It operates on programmed instructions; it can do no wrong. It cannot be persuaded or defeated. And more importantly, it doesn’t have to emote. The robot Chitti, imagined by filmmaker S. Shankar, can do all this and more – everything, in fact. It also looks like Rajnikanth.
At some point, Shankar must have thought, “Enough! What can be more Rajnikanth than Rajnikanth himself?” How about two Rajnikanths? Especially when the second is an automaton capable of adjectives-fail-me stunts – say, mutating into numerous rifle-holding robots curled to form a football, shooting relentlessly, transforming into miniature versions flying on pigeons, or becoming a cage that traps a monster. Chitti, in the words of millennials, is “next level”.
All of this makes perfect sense. This conceit allows Shankar to enjoy and elevate the Rajnikanth myth, without compromising the story’s plausibility. Whenever something nutty happens in these movies – the recently released 2.0 or its “spiritual” predecessor, Enthiran – you can pacify the movie nerd in you by saying, “Oh, it’s because of the robot.” Well played, Shankar.
2.0 has another superstar, Akshay Kumar, playing an ornithologist who becomes, well, birdbrained. His name says it all: Pakshirajan. (How are we doing on the subtlety meter, Mr Shankar?) 2.0 rests on a simple – one rehashed across filmmaking cultures and ages. A city in danger, a vicious creature on the loose, a hero who rises and rescues.
But in a Rajnikanth-starrer science fiction actioner, that too in 3D, the story is the last thing that people care for. Shankar tries, though. He first builds intrigue. The film opens with an unsettling image – as scores of birds fill the early morning sky, a man hangs himself from a cellphone tower. From the next day, people’s phones start flying from their hands. Nobody knows why. The antagonist, Dr Pakshirajan, isn’t introduced in the first half. But you also get the sense that Shankar is trying too hard. There are several scenes repeating the same information, often employing the same mechanics, that treat you like an inattentive teenager.
Then there’s the science. For a film centred on the harmful effects of cellphone radiations, 2.0 isn’t interested in technology – in its complexities and complications, in its infuriating and unfortunate contradictions. The adverse effects of cellphones is a hotly debated, and contentious, topic. Studies haven’t been able to pin down whether cellphone radiation is dangerous. But 2.0 can’t care less, nor has the patience to read between the lines, for it is busy giving loud moral spiels on the perils of technology.
But that isn’t even the most annoying part. What is really frustrating about 2.0 is that it constantly tries to create an impression that it knows enough and, by that extension, cares. It does so by using keywords – the film is filled with references to “photon synthesiser”, “electromagnetic radiation”, “micro photon” – which feel hollow because, beyond word-dropping, there’s scarce evidence of any scientific engagement in this movie. Take, for example, a scene where Pakshirajan cites a crucial report to a telecom bigwig, trying to make him realise the weight of the problem. That report, he says, is written by a “famous Russian scientist, Frank Baranowski”. No such man exists. This is just one of the several instances where this film wilfully misleads its audience. This is dishonest and disingenuous filmmaking, which is all the more harmful because it wears the garb of science to sound morally conscious.
And yet, 2.0 also features stunning images – so captivating that they almost exist outside the film. Most Indian movies, even the much publicised ‘mass-ey’ fares, lack a distinct visual language, exemplifying an utter lack of imagination. But 2.0 consistently soars. The premise of the film – the dangers of cellphones – doesn’t automatically lend to riveting cinematography, but Shankar knows how to make images sing, turning them into events that leave you enchanted.
At the start of the film, for instance, we find out that cellphones are being used by a mysterious force. But we soon see how. Thousands of them lie scattered on an isolated highway, the night only illuminated by the light from their screens. Then they come to life, as they realign themselves, like the curl of a sea storm, and literally start flowing towards the city. There, they cover the walls, floors and ceilings of perpetrators (the ministers and the owners of telecom companies). In another scene, they light up an entire forest – they cover and adorn the trees; some on the ground slowly move forward, rustling leaves in the process. Some sequences later, the cellphones stick together to form a ginormous bird – just the scale of original thought, and its intended spectacle, is fascinating. And so is the finest bit of the film: its climax, a big action set-piece, which turns weirder by the second (where 2.0 becomes whatever he wants: a shooting football, a cage, a magnetic device). Shankar and cinematographer Nirav Shah often shoot scenes close from the ground or from a top angle, effectively conveying the sense of dread.
In most of these scenes, not a single dialogue is said. Shankar seems to be at home here, away from the winding by-lanes of science. Which is why 2.0 is such a dichotomous experience, as it feels like watching two separate movies: one disappoints you, the other floors you. The film’s sloppiness isn’t mitigated by its leads either. Kumar is thoroughly unconvincing as the ornithologist-turned-activist, upping his earnest ante to eye-rolling levels, and ludicrous as the city-destroying monster. Rajinikanth, too, cast in a staple role, adds nothing new.
But all disappointments related to multi-starrers can be both allayed and answered by a simple question, “What did you expect?” What did you expect indeed – a statement of resignation that says as much about our films as it does about us.
2.0 (Hindi) Does Good Business On Day One
Friday 30 November 2018 11.00 IST
Box Office India Trade Network
2.0 (Hindi) has had a good opening day with collections of around 20 crore nett. This is despite the big multiplexes not performing upto the mark but the film has done very well at other multiplexes and single screens.
The Akshay Kumar factor has worked for the film as North India has shown good collections with Delhi / UP at 4.75-5 crore nett East Punjab at 1.90 crore nett. East India has fared very well with Bihar collecting around 1.25 crore nett. The mass pockets in India have shown very strong collections with some places not too far off the figures of Thugs Of Hindostan. The ratios where dubbed films tend to struggle are very good be it Delhi / UP, East Punjab, Rajasthan or Bihar. Gujarat is a little below the mark and could have been better.
This has all come without South where the collections are only from Marathawada. So in real terms the collections are 22-23 crore nett if it this was releasd like a normal Hindi film..
The 3D version has done very well..2D has seen less occupancies..they should reprogram and get more 3D screenings today..I agree with Marcus that it is a bit lower than expectations. We need to wait and watch as the wom seems good here and working day might have held collections back…
BOI is stressing so much about releasing it as dubbed movie and losing out on southern India. I’ve been stressing this fact during Baahubali 2 as well. Whole of south India was watching B2 in their local language and yet Hindi collections just went and did 515 crores. Combing South languages Nett takes the all India collections over 1100 crores. If it was released as just Hindi movie without missing out so much business from Southern languages – imagine the business would have been easily over 600 or 650 or even 700 crores(from real 1100 crores) which after GST would be over 750 to 800 crores. Insane numbers to even comprehend.
Another figure making rounds is 35 cr gross in TN on Day One. Whats the truth? We may need super 30 lead to explain the difference between 20 cr and 35 cr?
*******************
As a result, 2.0 has turned out to be the biggest opener of all-time in Kollywood. The early estimates say that the movie has minted around Rs 35 crore, thereby breaking the opening-day record of Sarkar, which raked in Rs 31.5 crore three weeks ago.
Notably, 2.0 may have failed to beat the Baahubali 2 first-day record across the globe, but it has outperformed the business of SS Rajamouli’s flick, which had raked in around Rs 11 crore.
In Chennai alone, 2.0 has raked in Rs 2.64 crore, beating the record of Sarkar, which had collected Rs 2.41 crore.
35 cr seems right here…sarkar record looks to have been broken..the Chennai number also indicates that 35 cr is possible…guess overall day 1 worldwide gross will be above 110 cr..
First day share is 12 cr..it need 72cr share in telugu..it looks like flopping in andhra to me…but it’s hard to say as it is a working day and we need to wait till weekend finishes
One thing to remember is that this is a Tamil movie and not a telugu movie so forget bahubali it wont do those ntr kind of numbers also in AP…that will always keep the grosses down…the way I see it TN, karnataka and kerala are outstanding, AP has opened well but not as good as the price it needs to recoup..the disappointment is hindi circuit..for whatever the reason the high end multiplex didnt turn up..my own guess is it is due to the working day and it will turn around from tomorrow…today it is running 15 percent less than yesterday as of now..they need to reschedule the programming to have more 3D shows..2D is practically empty…
2.0 was eying the second biggest opening and preferably a 100+ Cr gross All india. It is for sure the second biggest opening of all time after BB2. 100 Cr gross or not needs to be awaited.
Creed 2 movie review: Sylvester Stallone, Michael B Jordan deserve Oscars love; one of the best films of 2018
Creed 2 movie review: Powered by soulful performances by Sylvester Stallone and Michael B Jordan, the Rocky franchise has produced one of the best films of the year. Rating 4.5/5.

#Baahubali2 All India Day-1 Opening Collection- ₹ 121 cr nett#2point0 All India Day-1 ₹ 61 cr nett , which makes 2.0 Second Highest Opener in India of all Time.
Another movie can’t break BB2 nett first day. What an event film was BB2. It was like Sholay of this century. At the beginning of this year some were predicting TOH and 2.0 have a great chance to eclipse BB2. TOH bit the dust miserably shattering the myth of perfectionist Aamir Khan . Now 2.0 can’t even reach close to 510 Crore net of Hindi and 1100 Crore All India Nett. I can’t visualise any movie in next 5 years to break BB2 records in India. As all Khans are declining, none in the present crop of youngsters have the potential to leapfrog BB2 in near future. Aamir had s chance in TOH but he squandered it with a lame script sense and licking his badly bruised wounds. May be another gem from Rajamouli will eclipse BB2.
Neither ToH nor 2.0 could ’emotionally’ connect with masala audience. Hence the under-performance. Same was the case with Tubelight. 2.0 will trend better than the other two, coz Rajni fans are not feeling alienated. Whereas, Aamir’s non-straight character alienated a major chunk of his audience, just like Salman’s audience felt with Tubelight. Of course, the difference in acting by the stars in ToH and TL is as wide as between heaven and hell, but thats another story.
When Aamir ‘apologized’ about not getting ToH right, I can bet that he was referring to his Firangi character (which he had assumed wud work v well). He refused to elaborate more about that on a public platform (he stressed on that twice when reporters persisted). But he talked about China release as if that may not matter much with a more mature … sorry i meant non-masala audience.
Non-holiday release… Non-festival period… Yet, #2Point0 takes a SUPER START… Keeping in mind the fact that it’s a dubbed film + advance bookings opened very late, the biz is STRONG… Thu ₹ 20.25 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version.

And Surekha Sikri was the jaan of Baalikavadhu. She is fondly remembered as dadisa even now. You can watch some episodes of Saans on hotstar and Balikavadhu from Voot site where colors serials are shown. To sample how good and how versatile they are. It was fab.

Aşk-ı Memnu (English: Forbidden Love) is a Turkish romantic drama television series originally broadcast on Kanal D between 2008 and 2010. It is an adaptation of Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil’s 1899 novel Aşk-ı Memnu set in contemporary Istanbul instead of the novel’s late 19th-century setting. wiki.

Lagaan! Yuvraaj has a great song too. Saathiya, Pukar, JTYJN and Ghajini – here and there each album has a couple of very good songs.

Verdict

Tamilrockers has been a source of worry for production houses and distributors in south India. They have consistently leaked and uploaded movies and TV shows a few hours after their release, and often in high definition (HD) resolution.

My 2.0 3D Hindi Review
2.0 scores despite its flaws!!
Rating 4/5 ****

You are right about Shankar – he is a deft director and i am sure unlike VKA, he wud have handled the screenplay in a much better way.
Robot was the last Rajni film I saw in a theater and honestly i slept through most of the time… just could not connect with the film. Shankar’s “Mudhalvan” (Nayak in Hindi) remains my favorite film.

I am still bewildered by OTT reaction to the movie as if this is an all time classic. It is not. I don’t think any of Shankar’s film will be called classic, but they are massy for sure. 2.0 is a good one time watch. Was this movie ever meant to be more?

I don’t feel bad for such comments but I feel more bad when you can’t differentiate between real bollywood fans with fav with just fanatics of just 1 fan. Just having more members of your fav should not be the goal here. Most of them like to have group of their own kind. I can get 10 srk fans to join this blog in a day but I’m not that kind and never misuse this blog for something that silly.
I find it very chaotic without moderation(maybe coz I’ve been moderator for multiple blogs) but if people behaves as grownups, blog will survive.

You keep repeating we can’t loose members even if they are abusive. That’s encouragement IMO. When things are not Civil, its never good for this blog or anywhere.

That tells you all about Mr. Sen (and also the nature of film criticism in Bollywood).

TOH – 1
Dangal – 4.5
PK – 4
Dhoom 3 – 1.5
Talaash – 2.5
Pointing out TOH ratings is pointless as majority of critics have given it low.

2.0 – Going Very Slow in the US!

This is a hoot of an review from Wire …
***************

Here is the top 5 biggest openers in TN
Movie Collection
2.0 Rs 35 crore
Sarkar Rs 31.5 crore
Mersal Rs 24.8 crore
Kabali Rs 21.5 crore
Vedalam Rs 15.5 crore
