The two have fostered a close working relationship that began with Black Friday in 2004 and continued till the Netflix series Sacred Games. On Anurag’s birthday, here’s looking back at one of the best actor-director partnerships in the history of Hindi cinema.

Nawazuddin wrote that Anurag used to tease him by calling the actor his ‘item girl’. He wrote, “Sometime over the years, he began saying, ‘Tu toh meri item girl hai!’ (You’re my item girl!), and he continues to tease me thus, till today. ‘Badi zabardast shaadi hoti hamari!’ (We would have had a great marriage!) We keep clowning around, but seriously, if either one of us were a girl, we would have married each other. I am his muse, he says, and he is mine, I tell him.”

  12. Anurag Kashyap : The Biggest Flop Machine of Bollywood Film Industry!

    https://movieshuvy.com/anurag-kashyap-the-flop-machine-of-bollywood/

Anurag focuses more on politics than direction, and maybe that’s the reason, why he hasn’t delivered even a single hit in his 18 years long directorial career. Yes, you read that right. Anurag Kashyap has directed close to 20 films till date and all of them are mammoth flops and disasters at the ticket window. Audience appreciated his work in Gangs of Wasseypur but unfortunately, GOW series too was a big flop and it gave huge losses to the producers. The script of Gangs of Wasseypur (both parts) was written by Zeeshan Qadri but the entire credit was taken by Anurag Kashyap, thanks to dirty games of Bollywood.

Here is the list of Flops/Disasters delivered by Anurag Kashyap:-
    1. Paanch (2003) – Disaster
    2. Black Friday (2007) – Flop
    3. No Smoking (2007) – Disaster
    4. Return of Hanuman (2007) – Disaster
    5. Dev.D (2009) – Below Average/Flop
    6. Gulaal (2009) – Flop
    7. Mumbai Cutting (2010) – Flop
    8. That Girl in Yellow Boots (2011) – Disaster
    9. Gangs of Wasseypur 1 (2012) – Below Average/Flop
    10. Gangs of Wasseypur 2 (2012) – Flop
    11. Bombay Talkies (2013) – Flop
    12. Ugly (2014) – Flop

He whipped out a dabba of laddoos (they looked like gond ke laddoo) which he said were made of apricot tree gum – something that his Ayurvedic doctor recommends. He warns that this must be judiciously consumed. He reveals that one of his directors had too many of them and “shat blood” the next day. During an Instagram chat with Grylls he reportedly confessed to drinking cow urine everyday as well – again suggested by his Ayurvedic doctor.

      • The optics of drinking cow urine is bad. Akshay, a fitness role model among many things for millions, should say how he add it in his diet. Is it daily, mixed with laddoo, etc.

There are many animal products that we eat unknowingly in our meals (if you are non veg) and certainly in medicines.

However we do not remember the optics of where those animal product comes from while eating.

  17. So by looking at the hit counts of superstars, Akshay Kumar is the clear winner who has seen tremendous growth in the last five years, followed by Ayushmaan Khurrana and Ajay Devgn.

Salman Khan needs a solid blockbuster to get back in the game otherwise he might loose his grip at the box-office. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Aamir Khan needs to do more films in order to maintain a good success ratio. Shah Rukh Khan, who hasn’t delivered a single hit in the last five years, is hoping for a blockbuster comeback in 2021. Fingers crossed!

  18. In 1980, Heera Devi took a loan of Rs 20 from a contractor at a stone quarry in Haryana where she worked, to send to her two young sons back at their village in Madhya Pradesh. Devi would spend years toiling at the quarry trying to repay the loan and the interest the contractor demanded.

“No matter how much she worked and how little she was paid, the contractor would always say she was yet to repay the full amount. It was only when Swami Agnivesh started fighting for bonded labourers did she even understand she was being exploited. He made a union, held meetings, opened schools, taught the workers their rights, and then fought this legally,” says her son Mayaram, now 55.

Among those present at the funeral of Agnivesh, who died in Delhi on Friday, was a teary-eyed Totaram, as grateful to the Arya Samaj leader and the anti-bonded labour crusader for coming to his father’s help. Now 49 and a Delhi government employee, Totaram says his father, uncles and cousins were rescued from a stone quarry in the Aravallis in Haryana in 1984 by the Bandhua Mazdoor Morcha (BMM) founded by Agnivesh.

  19. Exclusive! Ranjeeta Kaur on Bollywood: Too much toxicity in the film industry now

Let me tell you that filmmakers of yesteryears were very sure of who they wanted in their film and who they didn’t want. Sanjeev Kumar and Vidya Sinha were friendly with some actress and they pushed her name to B R Chopra saab for my role in Pati, Patni aur Woh. But B R Chopra saab said ‘No’. Even for Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se which was originally Sarika’s role but she left for some reason, I remember a lot of people went to Tarachand Barjatyaji (producer) that he should cast someone else instead of me. But he was so firm that he told those people that they can dissociate from the film but he would go ahead with only me. Jealousy has been in the industry for many years. Even for Laila Majnu opposite Chintu, I was shortlisted in the final two along with one other actress. A lot of people were rooting for the other girl. Harnam Singh Rawail (director) did send my pictures to Chintu but with a message that he had already made his choice to cast me.

People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that govt tells such people not to use this kind of language. Just because there are some people, you can’t tarnish the image of the entire industry. • What is the connection between making less films and drug addiction?

Salman still does more films in a year. Only aamir takes years and he takes time for everything he does.
Ranbir, Ranveer are happy with their lives and films are only part of their lives. And so are Abhishek and Hritik.
What is the use of making half baked films by the dozen and making them work by some PR? They are forgotten as easily in a year or so. Only the money is accrued. and by doing less films, they are giving opportunities to others.

How did that person know that akshay does not take drugs and did not take drugs at any point of time? And all the others take drugs?

I long back stopped posting aamir news or even stopped supporting him everytime except for a rare instance. I dont care if he is called whatever because it is of no use. I have better things to do.
I find even Marcus doing the same and ignoring provocations. LS left forever. Even Jayshah stopped reacting.

Life is short. Dont fill it with anger and innuendo for others endlessly. Give it a break. We are all extremely sad at what happened to SSR. But pointing fingers at others without solid proof is wrong. Let the cbi do its work.

World is an unfair place. Many people die without getting justice. There are lakhs of understrials languishing in jails because they dont have money or lawyers. Is it not better if we try to get jusice for them by providing assistance?

        • Sanjana, i don’t think anything needs to be taken back from what you stated.

i have been preaching that for few years on this blog. It’s okay to be a die hard fan but no sense in bringing down other actors in process. i argued with many on this blog going back to naachgaana days. most spends more time hating other actors than talking good about the actor they like.

Life is too short, enjoy it with your family and friends and then spend some little time having fun on blogs like this. no sense in spending your life hating.

Quite frankly, i think your life has to be very miserable if you find joy in hating or if you find joy in someone elses failure.

I get it that it’s fun in like sports where you want your team to do well and opposing team to lose but something like films, i just dont’ see point. It’s fun when you’re teen/young, but after certain age, you should grow out of it.

So, it seems SRK’s comeback will be Pathan, an action film co starring John Abraham, directed by Siddarth Anand after War set to release on October 2021. Sid Anand has never had a bonafide flop, but Adi Chopra is also apparently announcing a superhero franchise with Ajay Devgn and Chunky Panday’s nephew, so his judgement is questionable.

(This could be a good choice but it has to be as good as War, if not better to satisfy expectations)

His next film is with Raju Hirani, the one thing that’s scaring the hell out of me with this film is that not only Raju Hirani and Abhijat Joshi, but even Kanika Dhillon, who last wrote that classic Ra.One for SRK is here too. Plus, seems like the script was written after pitching the concept to him, which is not a good sign (Zero and JHMS). Any opinions?

After this, he’s supposed to do a film with Atlee. This is the one I’m most curious about, historically, a south indian mass director’s films with struggling stars work very well (Salman-Wanted, Akshay-Rowdy Rathore), even Aamir’s first blockbuster was with Murgadoss. However an original film’s outcome is tough to ascretain.

There’s more to the Hrithik Roshan-Kangana Ranaut saga than just being a nasty episode in tinsel world’s often-murky history. It’s also a saga that’s impacting three of the most powerful dynasties in Bollywood — the Roshans, the Bachchans and the Kapoors.

Hrithik, divorced from wife Sussanne, is reportedly leading an active social life with Shweta Bachchan, the statuesque daughter of Amitabh Bachchan. The two friends are reportedly often seen together in parties, high-end restaurants and private screening of films, but are cautious not to be snapped in the same frame by the paparazzi.

Bollywood insiders say it was at some point in 2014 that Hrithik became close friends with Shweta and started socially distancing himself from his Krrish 3 co-star Kangana. The Bachchans and the Roshans insist that Hrithik and Shweta are “childhood friends”. Industry insiders claim there was scant contact between the two after Shweta went to school and university abroad and married industrialist Nikhil Nanda in Delhi, other than being together at the odd filmdom party. Hrithik and the Roshans were not invited to either Shweta or Abhishek’s weddings.

Shweta’s husband Nikhil is Raj Kapoor’s grandson and the son of Ritu and Rajan Nanda of Escorts. Shweta has been preferring to spend time with the Bachchans at red carpet events in Mumbai. It was Hrithik’s childhood friend and
Rang de Basanti actor Kunal Kapoor’s courtship with wife Naina, daughter of Ajitabh Bachchan and cousin of Shweta, that was reportedly instrumental in reuniting Hrithik and Shweta as good friends again.

Kunal hails from a business family in Amritsar where he spent his early childhood, moving to Mumbai later and hanging out with the Bandra/Juhu film industry kids where he met Hrithik. Naina and Shweta are also very close and with the Bachchan girl having moved to Mumbai, both women are part of a group that includes the socialite Kajal Anand, actress Malaika Arora Khan, actor Sikander Kher, fashion designer/director Vikram Phadnis and producer Karan Johar. Kunal and Naina and Shweta and Hrithik are reportedly often spotted at high-end restaurants in Mumbai.

  34. I watched Sadak 2. I did not hate it. I liked it. It has some twists and surprises. The music is soothing. Sanjay dutt made the film watchable. He is like a gentle giant. Well, some mocked it mercilessly. For that matter any masala film can be mocked if one is inclined to do so. Even an art film can be mocked. I just want to decide myself instead of depending on ratings and critics and boxoffice. Many a time a critically acclaimed film bored me to death.

  35. Get ready to welcome Amitabh Bachchan back on your television screens, as Kaun Banega Crorepati 12 will go on air on September 28. Indianexpress.com has learnt that the show will air Monday-Friday at 9 pm on Sony TV.

While the makers were planning a digital press launch for KBC 12, given the tight schedule, it looks dicey at the moment. The Bollywood megastar resumed the shoot of KBC earlier this month, after recovering from coronavirus.

Given the current pandemic situation, the makers introduced strict protocols for the shoot. To maintain a safe environment, there will be no live audience on the show this season. The contestants chosen for the fastest finger first, even had to self-quarantine at a hotel, before they could enter the set.
