President Donald Trump admitted he knew weeks before the first confirmed US coronavirus death that the virus was dangerous, airborne, highly contagious and “more deadly than even your strenuous flus,” and that he repeatedly played it down publicly, according to legendary journalist Bob Woodward in his new book “Rage.”
“This is deadly stuff,” Trump told Woodward on February 7.
A day after the Brihanmumbai Corporation demolished a portion of Kangana Ranaut’s Pali Hill office in Mumbai, Bollywood’s fashion designer Manish Malhotra has come under the radar of the BMC. Manish Malhotra has been issued a notice by BMC for illegally turning his residential space into a commercial property. He has been given 7 days to respond.
“If either Anurag or I were a girl, we would have married each other,” actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui wrote about his relationship with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in his autobiography. The two have fostered a close working relationship that began with Black Friday in 2004 and continued till the Netflix series Sacred Games. On Anurag’s birthday, here’s looking back at one of the best actor-director partnerships in the history of Hindi cinema.
Nawazuddin wrote that Anurag used to tease him by calling the actor his ‘item girl’. He wrote, “Sometime over the years, he began saying, ‘Tu toh meri item girl hai!’ (You’re my item girl!), and he continues to tease me thus, till today. ‘Badi zabardast shaadi hoti hamari!’ (We would have had a great marriage!) We keep clowning around, but seriously, if either one of us were a girl, we would have married each other. I am his muse, he says, and he is mine, I tell him.”

English actor Diana Rigg has died at the age of 82. The cause of death was not revealed.
Rigg’s agent told BBC, “She died peacefully early this morning. She was at home with her family who have asked for privacy at this difficult time.”
Diana Rigg, known to the young generation for playing the role of Olenna Tyrell in HBO’s Game of Thrones, rose to fame by playing Emma Peel in the 1960s British espionage TV series The Avengers.
I found this funny.

Anurag focuses more on politics than direction, and maybe that’s the reason, why he hasn’t delivered even a single hit in his 18 years long directorial career. Yes, you read that right. Anurag Kashyap has directed close to 20 films till date and all of them are mammoth flops and disasters at the ticket window. Audience appreciated his work in Gangs of Wasseypur but unfortunately, GOW series too was a big flop and it gave huge losses to the producers. The script of Gangs of Wasseypur (both parts) was written by Zeeshan Qadri but the entire credit was taken by Anurag Kashyap, thanks to dirty games of Bollywood.
Here is the list of Flops/Disasters delivered by Anurag Kashyap:-
1. Paanch (2003) – Disaster
2. Black Friday (2007) – Flop
3. No Smoking (2007) – Disaster
4. Return of Hanuman (2007) – Disaster
5. Dev.D (2009) – Below Average/Flop
6. Gulaal (2009) – Flop
7. Mumbai Cutting (2010) – Flop
8. That Girl in Yellow Boots (2011) – Disaster
9. Gangs of Wasseypur 1 (2012) – Below Average/Flop
10. Gangs of Wasseypur 2 (2012) – Flop
11. Bombay Talkies (2013) – Flop
12. Ugly (2014) – Flop
13. Bombay Velvet (2015) – Disaster
14. Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016) – Flop
15. Madly (2016) – Flop
16. Mukkabaaz (2018) – Flop
17. Manmarziyaan (2018) – Flop
2. Before the elephant poo tea was had, Akshay revealed more about his super tolerant taste buds. He whipped out a dabba of laddoos (they looked like gond ke laddoo) which he said were made of apricot tree gum – something that his Ayurvedic doctor recommends. He warns that this must be judiciously consumed. He reveals that one of his directors had too many of them and “shat blood” the next day. During an Instagram chat with Grylls he reportedly confessed to drinking cow urine everyday as well – again suggested by his Ayurvedic doctor.
The optics of drinking cow urine is bad. Akshay, a fitness role model among many things for millions, should say how he add it in his diet. Is it daily, mixed with laddoo, etc.
There are many animal products that we eat unknowingly in our meals (if you are non veg) and certainly in medicines.
However we do not remember the optics of where those animal product comes from while eating.
Sena couldnt control the bait Kangana offered.
Also the mounting pressure on mumbai police and their expose by central agencies so far was building up the steam.
Now they have made this entire epispde as political. This make Justice for SSR also a political affair which can help Rhea most certainly. A living partner and knowing that SSR was having treatment, if she still agreed to buy drugs for SSR it smacks of an asolutely stupid, malicious and immoral girl friend.
But wait, abhi case has not been revealed even by 10%. CBI has handsome links now. Wait for the chargesheet.
The Social Dilemma on Netflix is an outstanding documentary. I didn’t think I would enjoy watching it but plenty to look forward to.
This might quite easily be one of the best things on OTT right now. A wake up call to social media users and those who get their ‘news’ on online platforms.
So by looking at the hit counts of superstars, Akshay Kumar is the clear winner who has seen tremendous growth in the last five years, followed by Ayushmaan Khurrana and Ajay Devgn.
Salman Khan needs a solid blockbuster to get back in the game otherwise he might loose his grip at the box-office. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Aamir Khan needs to do more films in order to maintain a good success ratio. Shah Rukh Khan, who hasn’t delivered a single hit in the last five years, is hoping for a blockbuster comeback in 2021. Fingers crossed!
In 1980, Heera Devi took a loan of Rs 20 from a contractor at a stone quarry in Haryana where she worked, to send to her two young sons back at their village in Madhya Pradesh. Devi would spend years toiling at the quarry trying to repay the loan and the interest the contractor demanded.
“No matter how much she worked and how little she was paid, the contractor would always say she was yet to repay the full amount. It was only when Swami Agnivesh started fighting for bonded labourers did she even understand she was being exploited. He made a union, held meetings, opened schools, taught the workers their rights, and then fought this legally,” says her son Mayaram, now 55.
Among those present at the funeral of Agnivesh, who died in Delhi on Friday, was a teary-eyed Totaram, as grateful to the Arya Samaj leader and the anti-bonded labour crusader for coming to his father’s help. Now 49 and a Delhi government employee, Totaram says his father, uncles and cousins were rescued from a stone quarry in the Aravallis in Haryana in 1984 by the Bandhua Mazdoor Morcha (BMM) founded by Agnivesh.
Exclusive! Ranjeeta Kaur on Bollywood: Too much toxicity in the film industry now
Let me tell you that filmmakers of yesteryears were very sure of who they wanted in their film and who they didn’t want. Sanjeev Kumar and Vidya Sinha were friendly with some actress and they pushed her name to B R Chopra saab for my role in Pati, Patni aur Woh. But B R Chopra saab said ‘No’. Even for Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se which was originally Sarika’s role but she left for some reason, I remember a lot of people went to Tarachand Barjatyaji (producer) that he should cast someone else instead of me. But he was so firm that he told those people that they can dissociate from the film but he would go ahead with only me. Jealousy has been in the industry for many years. Even for Laila Majnu opposite Chintu, I was shortlisted in the final two along with one other actress. A lot of people were rooting for the other girl. Harnam Singh Rawail (director) did send my pictures to Chintu but with a message that he had already made his choice to cast me.
Film industry image being tarnished: Jaya Bachchan
Jaya Bachchan (SP) speaks about the online harassment of actors and celebrities. She also said that the film industry is being tarnished because of a few selected incidents. “Film industry is a source of employment for scores of people. It has always come forward to help the government in its endeavors. Hence, I request you to support the industry.”
Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan moves suspension notice in the Rajya Sabha
People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that govt tells such people not to use this kind of language. Just because there are some people, you can’t tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame: MP Jaya Bachchan in Rajya Sabha
Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan has given Zero Hour notice in Rajya Sabha over ‘alleged conspiracy to defame film industry’.
“I expected Jaya-ji to support what I said. Not everyone in the industry consumes drugs but those who do are part of a plan to finish the world’s largest film industry. When Jaya-ji and I joined, the situation was not like this, but now, we need to protect the industry,” Ravi Kishan told news agency ANI.
In response, Kangana tweeted, “Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhieshek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also.”
From doing 3 movies per year, the drugs have made stars do only one.
If not for drugs we would have seen more movies from stars. Earlier i used to think they were lazy. Now i am concerned for them.
What is the connection between making less films and drug addiction?
Salman still does more films in a year. Only aamir takes years and he takes time for everything he does.
Ranbir, Ranveer are happy with their lives and films are only part of their lives. And so are Abhishek and Hritik.
What is the use of making half baked films by the dozen and making them work by some PR? They are forgotten as easily in a year or so. Only the money is accrued. and by doing less films, they are giving opportunities to others.
How did that person know that akshay does not take drugs and did not take drugs at any point of time? And all the others take drugs?
I long back stopped posting aamir news or even stopped supporting him everytime except for a rare instance. I dont care if he is called whatever because it is of no use. I have better things to do.
I find even Marcus doing the same and ignoring provocations. LS left forever. Even Jayshah stopped reacting.
Life is short. Dont fill it with anger and innuendo for others endlessly. Give it a break. We are all extremely sad at what happened to SSR. But pointing fingers at others without solid proof is wrong. Let the cbi do its work.
World is an unfair place. Many people die without getting justice. There are lakhs of understrials languishing in jails because they dont have money or lawyers. Is it not better if we try to get jusice for them by providing assistance?
Well said sanjana. There r better things to do in life than daily doses of sycophancy and blind star worship. Living through Covid at least has made me realise it.
Please remove my comment which is not in good taste. Sorry Navin, I was somewhat carried away by that except Akshay comment posted by you. Anyhow I request you to go slow on your criticisms of people based on media reports.
Naveen was fine upto last year when he talked highly of akshay without trying to bring down other actors, now it’s him praising akshay while trying to bring down other actors, and it gets annoying.
Also, i’m not angry at Naveen. As i age, i’ve learned that being angry with anyone doesn’t help much. Life is too short.
Sanjana, i don’t think anything needs to be taken back from what you stated.
i have been preaching that for few years on this blog. It’s okay to be a die hard fan but no sense in bringing down other actors in process. i argued with many on this blog going back to naachgaana days. most spends more time hating other actors than talking good about the actor they like.
Life is too short, enjoy it with your family and friends and then spend some little time having fun on blogs like this. no sense in spending your life hating.
Quite frankly, i think your life has to be very miserable if you find joy in hating or if you find joy in someone elses failure.
I get it that it’s fun in like sports where you want your team to do well and opposing team to lose but something like films, i just dont’ see point. It’s fun when you’re teen/young, but after certain age, you should grow out of it.
Yet she gave a pass to her party colleague, the crude and oafish Azam Khan, for abusing actor Jayaprada. Clearly some in the film industry, like the characters in Animal Farm, are more equal than others. https://t.co/88OAkBClmP
The same Bollywood for decades did movies where they have portrayed all politicians corrupt, governments corrupt, police personnel corrupt (maybe rightly at times🙊) but gets touchy when the generalisation reaches them. Aise kaise chalega.
Yet to witness any of these so called celebs speak up for the cause of movie exhibition (at a time when malls & restaurants have reopened) or the preservation of the 70mm celluloid over digital mediums of production & distribution (a cause even the likes of Tarantino & Nolan have taken up). Shows where their priorities lie.
The difference is that bolywood is getting bashed in real life instead of reel life. And most of the second generation has star or actor parents. And they are getting unfair chances.
SSR’s death opened Pandora’s box and with covid not going away, bollywood is hearing death knells and that is unsettling them. And Kangana is not letting the fire die easily.
These people react only when things go bad for them. It is personal. They are not fighting for others. The true people who will be remembered are those who fight for others, not for themselves.
Jaya has jumped and taken the udta teer . In general she is an opportunist .
AB- Jaya
Akhshay- Twinkle
Aamir – Kiran
Ranvir- Konkana
Ghar ka bhedi Lanka dhaaye !! LOL
P.S- Joke hai, fake feminists please hold your fire !!!
Read an interesting article from back in 2018 about the collapse of Amazon Kindle compared to paperback which in my opinion is hard proof of us still being “analog humans” despite living in a bogus digital world where bedrooms are becoming offices, food’s being bought online and 100 episode snooze fests are being binged on puny 6 inch screens than the experience of a 70mm film projection.
“Can’t Take It When They Ridicule Our Industry”: Hema Malini On Drugs Row
Hema Malini, 71, spoke to NDTV on a day Jaya Bachchan spoke emphatically in parliament against what she called attempts to vilify the film industry with allegations of drug abuse related to the Sushant Singh Rajput death investigation.
So, it seems SRK’s comeback will be Pathan, an action film co starring John Abraham, directed by Siddarth Anand after War set to release on October 2021. Sid Anand has never had a bonafide flop, but Adi Chopra is also apparently announcing a superhero franchise with Ajay Devgn and Chunky Panday’s nephew, so his judgement is questionable.
(This could be a good choice but it has to be as good as War, if not better to satisfy expectations)
His next film is with Raju Hirani, the one thing that’s scaring the hell out of me with this film is that not only Raju Hirani and Abhijat Joshi, but even Kanika Dhillon, who last wrote that classic Ra.One for SRK is here too. Plus, seems like the script was written after pitching the concept to him, which is not a good sign (Zero and JHMS). Any opinions?
After this, he’s supposed to do a film with Atlee. This is the one I’m most curious about, historically, a south indian mass director’s films with struggling stars work very well (Salman-Wanted, Akshay-Rowdy Rathore), even Aamir’s first blockbuster was with Murgadoss. However an original film’s outcome is tough to ascretain.
munna, why have you not promoted this teaser to main page as yet? when a lot of junk stuff are getting on the front SS page, this stars a massive bollywood star of today.
When you are on a blog for a considerable time, you sort of develop bonds with the fellow bloggers whether you agree with them or not. One eagerly looks forward to intereact with them and hear their views. A sort of club like feeling. This is the beauty of this space.
Jayaprada slams Jaya Bachchan. Slams is the word used by news portals.
Urmila Matondkar calls out Kangna or bashes her.
Kangana calls Urmila a soft porn star who cant act.
Manoj Bajpai jumps in, calls mumbai magical city which gave him name, fame. This will surely make Raut happy.
Nikhil Dwivedi and Kangana have arguments.
Kunal Kamra and Kangana have spats.
Swara Bhaskar and Kamya Punjabi are also participating.
Babul Suprio is supporting bollywood.
Kjo has left for Goa with his mother and his two kids where Dipika is shooting for some film.
Tomorrow there will be more players. Picture abhi baaki hai!
Covid is relegated to the back seat and bollywood is shining like a million stars with stars and actors enthusiastically participating in this sport of blamegame.
The one commonality between all of them (irrespective of whether they think left or right, ‘coz none of them can think rationally straight) is that they’re all opportunistic fiends desperately seeking 2 days of fame as they have nothing else left in their arsenal.
Thanks to people like Ranvir for saying this , warna the pseudo libtards have gone all out against Kangana .
Matlab heights of hypocrisy , usska ghar dhaa diya , not a word,, but shesays I felt raped – areey kaisey?
Urmila calls her a BJP mole , Kangana retorts – arrey kaisey ?
Kitna charsee ho kar girogey yaar Khapshyap gang !!!
There is massive support for Kangan outside bollywood.
Few are making it political and to some extent Kangana too has.
This stance makes a certain section to oppose Kangana even if her house is demolished illegally, immorally and unethically.
Barring those, most are overwhelmingly in support. The discontent is so high that no one is spared. Bollywood needs a good spokesperson and very quick here. Someone who accepts that certain quarters are cancerous and let’s fight together to remove. That person will gain trust from public.
Unfortunately except for Ravi Kishan, noone who is elected from Bollywood is ready to accept or fight this change.
Rightly said.. some day you may say you don’t like how people are getting manipulated and voting; lets regulate that…there should be guidelines and advisory for extreme cases but regulation when information is coming from so many places is redundant and counter to a progressive society.. also it is a slippery slope…and that is why we see people getting arrested for sharing cartoons.

Barring those, most are overwhelmingly in support of Kangana though may not agree with all she says. But they know she is more genuine than Rhea or Bhatt or Kapoors or Kumars. The discontent is so high that no one is spared. Bollywood needs a good spokesperson and very quick here. Someone who accepts that certain quarters are cancerous and let’s fight together to remove. Desperate Kangu needs a party ticket to find an alternate to her failing filmography, just like Bhojpuri star Kishan bhaiya did last May. Swara “soft porn” Bhaskar’s been seeking one from Crook Kejriwal for the last 3 years too!
The soft spoken nature of Bhojpuri stars is similar to what we see in other regional language stars from Tamil, Telugu , Kannada etc.
No dikhaawa, only humility and reply with respect.
Amazing and superb interactions between Tiwary and Kishan. Their talent and contribution to their industry is second to none. As per their interview they revived a dying cinema. Surely more work is needed but nonetheless important.
I had told this even before Kangana’s interview with Navika: It is ridiculous to claim that Kangana is trying to get a BJP ticket. It is like putting in hours required to clear a UPSC exam when in fact you are attending a 5th grade class-test! She has her house/office demolished; now she has to keep running to the courts for God knows how many years; made a permanent enemy of Bollywood hoi-polloi; and now, she is not facing some weak opposition, she is facing a government in power, the Sonia Sena!! The government is breaking laws and has come down to facism of the highest order.
If she really wants a BJP ticket, all that she needs to do is ask for it. Dumber people have gotten tickets – in any party in India.
If she didn’t want her house demolished or run helter skelter, she’d have spoken for the right cause at the right time instead of shooting her mouth off at every given opportunity & targetting people like Taapsee or Ranbir who’ve got nothing to do with her (just like she had nothing to do with SSR till his death). She’s a true face of blatant opportunism working on the principle of “any publicity is good publicity”. Obviously she didn’t anticipate Sena goons to demolish her home & office, a ploy that fell flat on its face.
Gold digger , mafia bimbo , sasti copy , soft porn star , b grade actress , small time druggie etc yes this is your feminist icon Kangana who taught bollywood feminism , the film industry which gave her money , fame , awards everything which she calls now a mafia and a gutter . From Karan johar to Ranbir to Taapsee to Ranveer to Alia to Sonam kapoor to senior actresses Urmila , Dia Mirza , asking Jaya Ji what if your daughter was drugged and molested and what if Abhishek was found hanging .. make no mistake she is not just a vile opportunist but a gutter mouthed, casteist, fascist and a misogynistic hypocrite .
There’s more to the Hrithik Roshan-Kangana Ranaut saga than just being a nasty episode in tinsel world’s often-murky history. It’s also a saga that’s impacting three of the most powerful dynasties in Bollywood — the Roshans, the Bachchans and the Kapoors.
Hrithik, divorced from wife Sussanne, is reportedly leading an active social life with Shweta Bachchan, the statuesque daughter of Amitabh Bachchan. The two friends are reportedly often seen together in parties, high-end restaurants and private screening of films, but are cautious not to be snapped in the same frame by the paparazzi.
Bollywood insiders say it was at some point in 2014 that Hrithik became close friends with Shweta and started socially distancing himself from his Krrish 3 co-star Kangana. The Bachchans and the Roshans insist that Hrithik and Shweta are “childhood friends”. Industry insiders claim there was scant contact between the two after Shweta went to school and university abroad and married industrialist Nikhil Nanda in Delhi, other than being together at the odd filmdom party. Hrithik and the Roshans were not invited to either Shweta or Abhishek’s weddings.
Shweta’s husband Nikhil is Raj Kapoor’s grandson and the son of Ritu and Rajan Nanda of Escorts. Shweta has been preferring to spend time with the Bachchans at red carpet events in Mumbai. It was Hrithik’s childhood friend and
Rang de Basanti actor Kunal Kapoor’s courtship with wife Naina, daughter of Ajitabh Bachchan and cousin of Shweta, that was reportedly instrumental in reuniting Hrithik and Shweta as good friends again.
Kunal hails from a business family in Amritsar where he spent his early childhood, moving to Mumbai later and hanging out with the Bandra/Juhu film industry kids where he met Hrithik. Naina and Shweta are also very close and with the Bachchan girl having moved to Mumbai, both women are part of a group that includes the socialite Kajal Anand, actress Malaika Arora Khan, actor Sikander Kher, fashion designer/director Vikram Phadnis and producer Karan Johar. Kunal and Naina and Shweta and Hrithik are reportedly often spotted at high-end restaurants in Mumbai.
I watched Sadak 2. I did not hate it. I liked it. It has some twists and surprises. The music is soothing. Sanjay dutt made the film watchable. He is like a gentle giant. Well, some mocked it mercilessly. For that matter any masala film can be mocked if one is inclined to do so. Even an art film can be mocked. I just want to decide myself instead of depending on ratings and critics and boxoffice. Many a time a critically acclaimed film bored me to death.
Get ready to welcome Amitabh Bachchan back on your television screens, as Kaun Banega Crorepati 12 will go on air on September 28. Indianexpress.com has learnt that the show will air Monday-Friday at 9 pm on Sony TV.
While the makers were planning a digital press launch for KBC 12, given the tight schedule, it looks dicey at the moment. The Bollywood megastar resumed the shoot of KBC earlier this month, after recovering from coronavirus.
Given the current pandemic situation, the makers introduced strict protocols for the shoot. To maintain a safe environment, there will be no live audience on the show this season. The contestants chosen for the fastest finger first, even had to self-quarantine at a hotel, before they could enter the set.

Anurag Kashyap : The Biggest Flop Machine of Bollywood Film Industry!
https://movieshuvy.com/anurag-kashyap-the-flop-machine-of-bollywood/

This an old piece by Rasheed Kidwai re. Hritik and Shweta Bachchan in The Telegraph :
FRIENDS RELOADED
Far from prying eyes, Hrithik rediscovers a ‘childhood buddy’

That is how it should be; watch it for your own. A critic is simply another audience with either the same or different perspective.

Movie viewing is a personal experience; I have found some movies which people liked, intolerable and some which I have liked is hated by many 🙂
