  1. By 19th, situation may improve here in mumbai. As it is today is almost no show except for some hollywood films.
Suryavanshi holds the answer as of now.

  2. I did not like the first Babli aur Bunty. Even the item song was cringeworthy.

    • I didn’t think much of it either. They show them getting out of the situation without showing how, and it kind of keeps on going thru out the film.

Liked the tongue in cheek dialogues in the teaser, how rani says, “Producer, in my room” (Producer being her husband)

  4. Rani as Babli has retired from being a con-woman and has settled into family life with Bunty aka Rakesh, played by Saif Ali Khan – an exciting casting coup that has brought back the much-loved on-screen jodi (Hum Tum, Ta Ra Rum Pum) together. Given that she has a lot of time at hand in an idyllic small town, Rani has tried to turn into a fashion designer in Fursatgunj given her fondness for style and panache. Point to note: Babli’s sartorial choices are OTT and eccentric but that’s how she expresses herself and stays the center of attention. Bunty is supportive of his wife’s efforts but not necessarily in agreement with her loud fashion choices.

Rani says, “Vimmy is bored being just a housewife in a small town. She knows she is talented, she is the OG Babli, a smart woman who pulled off incredible cons. Though she is happy in her marriage, she craves more, she craves the thrill and being the center of attention. She was always into fashion and so, she decides to pursue that. Her fashion choices are loud, colourful, and happy because that’s what her personality is and I must say she relishes the fact that people in Fursatgunj look up to her. People in this village are not exposed to fashion at all and Babli becomes the Fashion Queen of Fursatgunj”.

  6. Am not sure why most of the folks here didn’t like BNB. It was a great, fun-filled, roller-coaster ride never to be taken seriously. Folks found loop-holes, seriously? it was a star-driven vehicle with the Big B at his best, Abhishek on a high, and the beauty-queen at her expression-less best. Shaad Ali, for me, has always been an interesting director but someone who cannot pull off coherent screen-plays. His ideas are interesting, but he falters in executions. However, SAATHIYA and BNB were 2 films where he was able to achieve that.

Still remember the entire theater going wild in NYC with wolf-whistles when AB senior just strikes a match with a gamla around his neck and says; KAY? arre kay nahi K? A 60-year old getting this response was unexpected for me.

    • Well you seem to forget Rani Mukerji who was as good, if not better than Abhishek. Even Aishwarya had the right ada and jhatka for the family song.

      • My bad. yes Rani was superb in there. Actually that’s what I meant to convey; that somehow, everything came together well in this movie. My fav scene still remains that ‘HAMARI MAANGE POORI KARO’? are kya maange hai tumhari? ANGREZON BHAARAT CHODHO in 2005 . Kind of a hint to the terrorist-farmers hijacking the average guy’s life on the Delhi border…

    • I think i had enjoyed Bunty aur Babli. I have now forgotten most of it except for the Kajrare song. It was a good timepass. Abhishek and Rani look good together. Not sure why Abhishek is not doing it again. Saif is not looking, behaving or talking like someone who is named Bunty.
Siddhant and Shravari is looking more real here.

  7. Liked Antim’s trailer. Its earthy, and looks to be a good cop vs thug epic. This can be a winner if Manjrelar’s keeps it grounded like in Vaastav.

    • Yes it’s a good trailer for me also. Was expecting all signature item of Salman masala movie trailer but this actually is quite smooth and seems like there is some decent plot in this movie.

  9. I liked B&B trailer more because it has no blood and gore. Family audience can watch it. And there is this young pair who can give tough competition to the older ones. And there is Pankaj Tripathi.

Antim trailer is a surprise. Ayush sharma shows promise as an actor.
Salman has some charm as usual but just no acting except showing muscles.

I did not feel like watching SMJ2 trailer after those comments.

  10. Tadap may be a surprise hit.

    Like

    • Tadap will be sure shot hit. This is remake of blocbuster movie and then Sajid Nadiadwala has put all his effort to make it standard product. The role is perfect for Ahaan’s personality so that will work big time. I don’t see it not working at all.

      • I hope the action is more fluid than what was in Tiger shroff initial films where it’s like video games with cut/paste scenes and i really hope not too many slow-mo scenes.

        Like

      • Tadap is a remake of RX100. The whole RX100 story is based on lust – lust of a girl for the hero. She uses him to satiate her sex needs, throws him etc. It is actually a very bold movie. If you see the Telugu trailer of RX100 the whole trailor is about the girl and will appear like a B grade movie bcos the trailer is deliberately cut that way to convey the subject
What i found very wierd is that here Tara here is shown like a very normal heroine and hardly even has much presence in the trailor. And the movie is shown more like a love story rather than a bold movie.

Siva is a good star’s director to make a fast paced average flicks which gets better with presence of a superstar.
Rajini is becoming better with age. Salman used VFX extensively on his face to look younger but with his ajeeb type ka bulky body which doesnt match with his face, it looks odd now.

    • He didn’t stop at several places for the clap. He made sure he is dead serious and not doing it just for applause. He meant it and thats where it scored for me big time. Sincere thought ful and thought provoking at the same time.

The words were carefully picked, the issues were relevant, the two images of India couldn’t have been shown with better clarity.

      • Totally agree, He could have easily stopped and got applause at many places and people did start clapping at many points but he didn’t stop and kept going which caused the audience to stop applausing right away.

Not sure if it’s something he wrote but it was pretty good. How relevant points were made in almost poetry fashion.

You dont like, dont react. Every day there will be someone who is popular saying something you dont like. Onpy way to remain sane is to let it go.

But seems its more of one upmanship. Usne bole to gyarah aur maine bola to baarah. 🤣

Vir Das made a point on:

          Petrol price, is it true?
Farmers getting run over, is it true?
We’re a nation of over billion people, is it true?
          gang rape, is it true?
          and so on.

That is different from kangana lousy comments such as 2014, what does it mean for thousands of people who had sacrificed their life?

  25. Okay trailer for Atrangi Re. Movie looks good but it’s an OTT release so not much boxoffice discussion. Dhanush and Sara looks fine and Akshay is Santa Claus.

Regarding Akshay, the only actor who does more movies than Akshay is Nicholas Cage who does 7-8 movies per year which is HUGE in Hollywood but he had to repay all his debts and come out of bankruptcy. Not sure what’s Akshay is trying to aim with his monthly releases! Lol.

    • Enjoyed the trailer. It kind of surprised me. Original script and hats off to Akshay Kumar for enjoying his work, succeeding in getting such roles and Dhanush for looking the most natural actor around. Hope Sara does well as i do see some weakness in her.
A christmas release on OTT. The way full page Advertisements were provided in Bombay Times to announce trailer release, seems Hotstar would go all guns blazing to have a record opening on OTT.
      A Superhit coming on OTT.

  27. Fantastic usage of SLO-MO by Rajmouli. The stunning image of the girl staring through the vehicle’s window is haunting!

However, this song, this Kannada song is far, far better than the hackneyed Hindi words used…no imagination at all.. for that who understand Kannada, listen to the lyrics and the weightage/wattage of the words used…

Waiting for the Marathi version…if there’s one

      • LOL Aman; great man. But didn’t you find that the words were more inspirational in the Kannada version? All the words in Hindi were done to death…no novelty at all. But that might just be me…

When you have an inspirational song and that’s sprinkled with freshness, it’s really something…

I was skeptical about this one; but can’t wait for the movie now…

        • I am a Telugu, and by virtue, the Telugu and Kannada versions sound ditto. Even the words seem same. Honestly, wasn’t too impressed with this.

Andhra’s theatre problems are making it impossible for this film to break even though. Really unprecedented situation in Indian films.

          Liked by 1 person

        • Obviously the Devanagari script is same. But I just felt the words used in Hindi; Desh, Prem, etc., etc., were just too…bland

I haven’t listened to the Telugu version; I don’t understand the language — and I have been in the US since 2001; screw me that I have learnt neither Java nor Telugu — but I did feel the Kannada version carried a more emphatic message…

Also, is there a Marathi version at all?

I wonder what Z thinks of this album, given that according to him, Anand Milind and Nadeem Shravana > AR Rahman.

  31. Atrangi re has Akshay in a cameo. It cant be sold as akshay’s film. Just like the case of Antim. So distributors might not have been too ready to pay a big price. While OTT would have given them a very good deal. Certainty over uncertainty.
After tanu manu, Anand L rai is not too hot inspite of changing the spelling of his name. Atrangi re looks suspiciously like tanu manu with Sara reprising the same role. A meek Dhanush like meek Madhavan, a over bubbly mad heroine like bubbly Kangana and the third angle Akshay like Jimmy Shergill.
