Biopic on hockey legend Dhyan Chand

As hockey fervour grips the nation, Bollywood production company K Sera Sera has announced a biopic on an Indian hockey legend and is already in talks with internationally acclaimed directors like Shekhar Kapoor and Manoj N Shyamalan to helm the project.

The film, titled I Am There will be on the life of a legendary hockey player and will also chronicle the iconic moments in the history of Indian hockey.

Though the producers have refused to divulge the name of the player, they have hinted a biopic on Dhyan Chand, the Hockey-Wizard known for his clever stick-work.

“If we talk about Indian hockey, there is one player who has made an indispensable contribution to the game and he will be our hero,” Sanjay Gupta, CEO, K Sera Sera told PTI.

“While we are in talks with some of the best in the industry like Shekhar Kapoor and Manoj N Shyamalan to direct the film, we have already roped in Gulzar Sahab and Pt Hridayanath Mangeshkar for lyrics and music,” Gupta added.

The production company, which has given hits like ‘Golmal’, ‘Sarkar’, ‘Sarkar Raj’ and ‘Partner’, plans to launch a countrywide talent hunt to finalise the cast of the film in March after finalising the director.
