Vikram and Ileana in Bhoopathy Pandian’s Vedi

Kollywood’s latest talk happens to be Vikram’s next project in the pipeline with director Bhoopathy Pandian. The film has been titled Vedi and is expected to be a Deepavali release.

But Vedi is not a project that Bhoopathy Pandian made exclusively for Vikram. He had initially narrated the story to Vishal and the actor’s production house also registered the title Vedi. However, Vishal opted out of the project at a later stage and the title remained with their production house.

When Vikram called up Vishal to request for the title, the latter immediately obliged, and sent him a no objection letter. That’s the camaraderie that the two actors share.

The latest buzz about ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram is that he is all set to do a film by hit-making director Bhoopathy Pandian. Pandian, who has directed hits like Devathayai Kanden, Thiruvilayadal Aarambam and Malaikottai, has reportedly been signed to do the film by producer Mohan Natarajan. It would most likely be an action flick and it’s reportedly Ileana who’d play the heroine. Devi Sriprasad will compose the music and Vaithi will be in charge of cinematography. The shoot for the film will start in March.

Meanwhile, producer Vinay Sinha and superstar Vikram completed the first 26-day shooting schedule of their first Tamil feature film
tentatively titled Production No 5 at various locations in Chennai and Bangalore. Being made under the banner of Reel Life Entertainment (I) Pvt Ltd., it is directed by M. Sasi Kumar and stars Sumanth Reddy, Abhinaya, Aparna Bajpai, Niranjan and Samuthrikarani. The second and last schedule began from March 4 at Chennai, Madhurai and other locales.
