Abhinav Kashyap’s next with Shahrukh?
LINK
The speculation whether Shah Rukh will or will not do Dabangg director Abhinav Kashyap’s next has finally come to an end. A reliable source has confirmed that, “Shah Rukh Khan has signed Abhinav’s next. The film will be a thriller and Abhinav will make the big announcement in two days time.”
Abhinav shot to fame after his debut film as a director ‘Dabangg’ became a blockbuster. Things however didn’t work out between him and the Khan brothers Salman, Arbaaz.
Their differences lead to the fall out after which Arbaaz announced he will direct Dabangg sequel instead of Abhinav.
Though Shah Rukh Khan has nothing to do with the fallout within the Dabangg team, it surely adds to the drama, considering SRK’s long standing rivalry with Salman Khan.
After Farah Khan moved out of the SRK camp and made Salman do an item song for her film Tees Maar Khan, it seems to be SRK’s turn to snub his rivals by stepping in their territory.

Let’s see how far this abhinav kashyap goes. (I’m not being bitter by the way 🙂

Just because Salman is not there, you can’t be skeptical..either accept that Dabangg was a third rate movie working only due to Salman’s charm and charisma + the item number or give in to the fact that Dabangg was a great attempt at resurrecting masala cinema in its own manner by a debutante. I either case your skepticism wont hold much strength!!

Woah chill man what did I say to merit that kind of response. Good luck to abhinav and SRK in whatever project they work in.
In regards to DABANGG, yes I found the direction (whoever did it) pretty poor.

@ G One – yes the item number helped but plz don’t use that as a factor in the success of the film.
Look at the disastrous outcome of TMK. it had an item no from the biggest heroine in B Town but look what happened?
I heard RA-1 has an item no 😉

I think the ‘chhed’ dialogue is being reworked for this film.
From the people in the know the new version for this film is:
SRK – Oui maa, mere to na itne saare chhed hai ki samajh nahin aata, kaun sa susu ke liye hai, kaun sa potty ke liye aur kaunsa Karan ke liye!

Hmmmm! I’m astonished (or shouldn’t be) that there aren’t many indignant comments here reserved for obscene remarks, which one reads weekly in the KWK thread.
This comment above is, sort of, made *at home* by a member, and thus all the more glaring.
BTW satyam, why couldn’t you delete the comment along with the responses? The other day I had to throw away a pot of flowers because it got infested with worms.
Or, on second thoughts let his panty hang in public – all dirty and exposed. LOL!!

LOL, I am actually laughing at the kind of humor that’s allowed on this forum. It’s actually pretty sad…and I hope there is a moderator somewhere that’s reading this unless he too finds it funny. And I don’t understand how you can continue poking fun at SRK when Amitabh has embarrassed himself (forgotten Boom, RGV ki Aag and countless cameos that Navin Nischol would have refused) in every conceivable way in the last decade.

On Bachchan, speaking for myself, I harass him regularly about this sort of stuff on his blog! I have always defended Boom though. I found him great in it though the film was of course a very sad misfire.

Are you being serious Alex?
The guy has won countless awards (rightfully or wrongly I don’t know) and his price has shot through the roof. The film itself doesn’t deserve the recognition it has got. The character Chulbul Pandey and the songs were the biggest attractions (for me anyway).
Salman Khan has made Chulbul Pandey ICONIC.

Dabaang: My kiddos loved it! My 5 year old daughter loved the belt-moving song. They don’t understand hindi (older on was reading subtitles). I have to say this…I seldom, seldom watch any movie second time, however great it is. If I do, it is because my kids loved it and I too found it not totally boring to watch again. I think Dhoom was one such movie. And Dabangg I watch 1.5 times! It is definately not an art movie. It it total masala potboiler. But it works. I did find the heroine’s father (Erota dialogue) EXTREMELY irritating. But Salman did carry the movie on his shoulders. He has flowered. There are so many actors (Abhishek B, Hrithik) who has little talent and are decorating the hindi cinema because “mere pass baap hai” (and today Bigb talked about plight of junior artists who couldn’t make it…no wonder…directors/producers are busy with *star* kids). The star kids have very little confidence (hear Hrithik’s whispy voice and terrible diction; Abhishek’s bent spin so forth) or talent….just lot of good presentation/stylying. Salman looked confidant. I really liked him in Dabaangg even though in real life he is bit of weirdo.

salman is not a weirdo dear.he is the one guy who spends more in charity than the entire bollywood together.this is no hyperbole…he is badnaam in bollywood for this.there r cheats who have swindled him.earlier whenever someone used to come to him…talk about his medical problem…. begged for money for operation…..between his pegs…he used to just sign a cheque and give the money.then professional swindlers started faking illness…he must have spent millions.now he has a being human ngo which is more professional and ensures the money spent goes for a genuine cause.
he is also very intelligent.how do u think at this age…he is still giving hits mega after bumper hits?bigger hits than aamir can dream of..barring 3 idiots.shahrukh is a sinking ship.just that he is naturally shy b4 media and sick of media tamasha..thats y some of his interviews look weird.he is simply bored of media circus.
if there is one guy who is weird in bollywood its vivek oberoi….for me the video of the press conference he gave accusing salman is the most funny video ever…in retrospect.
and yes he is a great painter…has great artistic sensibility.u can see his paintings online.how many other actors have that aesthetic quality?

Henry I agree with you on Bigb. Being what he is, he can give patronage to good writers, upcoming talented directors, make low budget meaning ful cinema (even commercial). How many houses does on need? How bit is 37 crore of tax? Why need to have so much material wealth. In that sense I respect (junior) artists like Naseer, Bajpai and countless others who do one-two-few movies but they do it only because they believe in it and would rather starve then to do meaningless movies. Exception being Paresh Rawal who says he does some/few movies for his soul and lot of others for his “pet” meaning stomach.

AB supports regional cinema and his production company makes movies in other languages than Hindi. Vihir was their most recent Marathi production which got rave reviews.
The problem is that AB does not make a big deal about the work he does quietly.

On a side note: The good will hunting duo (ben and matt) once had a contest for script and winner was chosen to direct his script/movie. Their arguement was that many a times lot of people approached the duo, asking about how to break into Hollywood? Apart from sundance, there are few avenues. So they had this contest.
People like Bacchan, can initiate a sundance like institute…you know. They don’t need to be visionaries but maybe even copy the west, in this way (instead of copying west in all other wrong things).
All ex-presidents in USA, have a library. As soon as they finish their 2nd term, all of them get involved in making their library. George W. is making his. So noble! Why shouldn’t all our politicians/actors/industrialist do something like this!! India will be full of libraries! After all don’t you want to leave a lasting legacy?!?! What better way than naming a state-of-art-library after your own name! Awesome idea. Lot of bharatnatyam dancers started their own academy to promote arts. Which hindi movie actor did anything for arts? I can think only of Prithvi theater started by Shashi Kapoor. But we need a performing arts academy….or several of them in all corners of India. Some of that 37 crore can go towards that! Why no give patronage to a puppetry center? Lot of real artists like the kathputli-walas are dying-dying art in India. They are street performers and there are no takers. A center for puppetry….so many ideas. In olden days, when rich people had money (kings/emperors) they gave patronage to art (like Jehangir and the miniature painting), build beautiful buildings….modern day India, the rich don’t do anything lasting.

@ dimps – I never watch a film twice in theatres but I did for DABANGG. I loved the mannerisms of Salman’s character and being a big fan that helps. Whenever me and my mates are out will do that belt dance and some of his antics in the film. The film after few viewings is not all that. I just hope the sequel has a more tighter story line.
My mother and sisters complimented the jodi. I think Salman does suit the ‘non glamourous’ heroines more.

I agree with your views on Abhishek and Hrithik….Even though wanting in the acting department,Hrithik at least has good screen presence,Abhishek even lacks that also…The same case applies to Salman also, poor actor, the same expressions, can’t even dance properly unlike Hrithik…Inspite of many years in the industry Salman hasn’t improved a bit unlike Akshay and Ajay who improved as time passed by..

Re. Dabang – I haven’t seen it and will probably watch it on youtube some day…wanted/dabang is not my sort of cinema.
Re. Salman & talent – He was always a limited actor but not many can match his fanbase which is why he is where he is.
Re. Akshay….he was brilliant in action and then jumped another level with his comedy but he’s reached his peak. He doesn’t possess the talent to show the variety that others of his generation ( SRK/Aamir/Saif/Ajay) possess.
He was an action star who (thanks to Priyan who spotted a comedic streak in him) was saved from drowning into oblivion. Now he’s exhausted the comedy genre (ppl are bored of him now)…hence why his fiilms are flopping left right centre.
Abhishek is a strange case, in that he does have talent – imo he was AMAZING in Yuva & Guru but before that and since then imo he has done fuck all to excite the masses and classes.
Hrithik needs to stop doing wishy washy films…he’s in danger of fizzling out

Dimps, Indian actors aren’t in the business of doing such generous acts. Underwear aur hair oil ki ads itni hoti hai time nahin milta lol.
In fairness to Amitabh though, I don’t think he is greedy. He just lacks script sense, but so does everyone else in Bollywood that is not named Aamir Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan: No Film With Abhinav Kashyap
March 31st, 2011 by Koimoi.com Team
So it is final. Shah Rukh Khan will not be starring in Abhinav Kashyap’s next film. Or so it seems for now. Commenting on one of the most speculated upon rumours of this year, Shah Rukh Khan said, “I am taking a 3-month break, just having completed the shooting of Don 2 and Ra.One. I will look at any other projects only after that.”
Since Abhinav Kashyap left the Salman Khan camp with bitter-sweet memories, he has started writing a new film, that will be co-produced by Viacom 18. However, since Abhinav met Shah Rukh Khan, rumours that the two will be working together for Abhinav’s next were aplenty.
But after Shah Rukh Khan denied any such move, the matter has come to rest for now. But it’s not that SRK is not doing any other films at all. “Of course, I have Yash Chorpa’s project, a film with Vishal (Bhardwaj) and one with Rohit Shetty,” the actor said in an interaction with the media.

Ranbir may be doing Abhinav Kashyap’s next which is apparently titled “Besharm” (hoping it’s got nothing to do with that horrible Bachchan film). the heroine may be an Indo-Aussie girl Pallavi Shards- the plot reportedly has Ranbir playing a streetsmart ruffian who steals the heroine’s car- http://www.google.com/m/url?client=ms-aff-ucweb&ei=cTzvT6Af4uzaBcUb&hl=en&output=xhtml&q=http://india.nydailynews.com/entertainmentarticle/fc0c802801642fa347195c09e6c8a543/besharm-girl-found-for-ranbir&site=news&usg=AF
