  1. 1) first 30 seconds spoof on D2 ? Next 15 secs on khnh.
    2) salman looks unfit in action scenes…clearly he is not putting any effort
    3) bad vfx.
    4) jacqueline smaller version of katrina but looks amazing.
    4) Weird laugh by Nawazuddin…trying too hard.
    5) Same crappy dialogues which make no impact anymore.
    6) Lavish treatment like Blue had…actually image on trailer video reminds of Blue.

        • Not my worry, fanatics worries such things. But, it is nothing special and nothing new from what sallu has been doing …just grand. 200 cr no way.

        • true, fanatics might worry about it but you were quick to pint out twice that it won’t make 200 crore and was willing to bet, hence my simple question to you on how much you think it will make.

  2. Found the trailer enjoyable. Salman’s looking out of place in the masked man part but the trailer is otherwise fine.

  3. Like the trailer a lot, first 30 seconds reminds me of D3, except it looks much better than D3.

I don’t think this will go the Jai Ho way, this will be more like Ek Tha Tiger.

    • I too think ETT might be the most likely scenario here. I’d be surprised if the initial is as massive that (for that 5-7 day period) but it could be a better film and make up the difference.

      Like

      • If the initial is not massive then the movie would have to be very good to get past ETT total.

The action/thrills looks very good from the trailer. It’s not looking too cheesy. After seeing this trailer, i’m sure Aditya is thinking of Dhoom 4 with Sallu.

Curious to see what BangBang and HNY will come up with. Each one will have to outdo the previous movie.

  4. Original Kick(was first made in Telugu) was a nice time pass fun movie. If anything like that, this will be a blockbuster.

  5. Think this might be Salman’s best film since Dabanng. I found the trailer enjoyable. Nawaz looks a little out of place though. I believe that if they have a decent enough film here, it should easily cross 200 cr.

  6. I have been writing this film off for sometime now but even I will admit this is a wonderful trailor. And the best part is that it doesn’t remind me of the tamil original. Maybe I need to revise my opinion of this movie. 200 crores is on the cards here

  7. Krish, once again I repeat. Kick was originally made in Telugu not Tamil.

  9. Great! Liked the background music and most of the action scenes. It has the usual “WOL (Whistle out loud) Bhai moments (such as him walking in front of the train). This is what Salman needs to be doing if he wants to hit 200 crores, it has that grand ETT feel to it. The good thing is the non-action scenes don’t seem to be as bland as they were in ETT. If Salman nails the “buffoonery”/comedy/romantic scenes, then this can do more than CE imo. And if the songs are good, then I think it can have the highest opening day regardless of it being pre-Eid and what not.

looks pretty lame, my interest did peak slightly when Nawaz was introduced and Sallu and Nawaz were shown ‘confronting’ each other. lol. hopefully the music will be good, so at least there is some entertainment there. Sallu’s charm has worn off, at least with me. it was fresh in Dabangg, now its just boring.

  12. I quite enjoyed the trailer: Salman seems flabby in the costume, but otherwise looks very good. Jacqueline should be banned from movies, but I am pretty interested in checking this one out. There’s a great line in here, that perfectly sums up Salman’s career:

“Mere baare mein itna mat sochna; mein dil mein aata hoon, samajh mein nahin.”

    Ha, that’s a great one!

The look of the movie is certainly better than the trailer itself .
Also gives a bit of dhoom vibes and then I am afraid very soon a similar looking trailer along the same action packed premise of Bang Bang will be launched so it may be an overkill there in this genre…

To be a major grosser it all boils down to two things – music and somewhat seriousness of the plot line .

Hope there is not much fooling around and some serious twists and turns to the story.
ETT plot turned out to be a joke but it managed to pull in huge numbers due to sizzling Katrina and initial salman- yrf-kabir khan combo hype with Eid added to the mix….

Salman or for that matter any actor has to realize this is a creative field and if you are on the top you need to work with the best in the field to get maximum returns, Aamir in that area has been very smart and employs first rate technicians and that does take a bit of load off the actor’s back. Here we have a Sajid who is more of a friend than talent.

We are witnessing this scenario with akki starrer Holiday and even though movie seemed jaded but Murugadoss infused some traction to his lethargic acting /dialogue delivery with intelligent screenplay.

The last complete movie of Salman I thoroughly enjoyed albeit with a shorter role was No Entry. It was brainless situational comedy but all the loose ends were tied together nicely. Had enjoyed Ready too with some fun comedy and Asin’s presence. . But rest all other salman starrer has been bits and pieces here and there.

Actually correction – Wanted was also fantastic and just perfect!

What I mean here is the feeling when coming out of the theater. Others are all mixed and so so..

    • Wanted was watchable but having seen Pokkiri I found it poor in comparison. Can’t say I’ve liked any of Salman’s other films either during this phase. Even Dabanng was too incomplete as a film for all the iconic stuff associated with it. Too short and nothing in the film really matched up to the promise of the initial trailer. But Salman’s single best outing in a physical sense — ever. Certainly enjoyable otherwise but no substance to it in any sense. A different way of putting this is that there’s nothing in this period that can be compared with Ghajini let alone anything more than this. Also don’t think that even at the bargain basement level he has anything as entertaining as Rowdy Rathore. Haven’t seen Holiday yet but this looks to be good judging by all the reviews. And so in this sense I wouldn’t be surprised if I liked Kick more than all of his other stuff barring one or two films. Haven’t seen the original incidentally because I find Ravi Teja possibly the most intolerable star in contemporary India! But this version looks somewhat different. Could be wrong.

i thought the exact same thing…sounds inspired from another song or songs. Personally it’s a catchy tune which I enjoyed, good start, IMO. The music and the videos has to be crazy entertaining for it to be a huge grosser.

This song is a clever copy of Dekha na…haye re socha na from Bombay to Goa.. The whole song including the theme is a clever adaptation but the piece from 1:07 makes it absolutely clear.

    • Yes! Exactly! Aamirfan and I were wondering what song this sounded like and it is Dekha na haye re socha na. Thanks!

  22. It may sound/resemble any song but it ain’t going anywhere and doubt will shake things in music world. Will have to wait for the next track.

Apex’s fav and the very pouty Nargis Fakhri is expected to shoot with sallu for a itemized song for this movie and at least the visuals will rock for that one !!

    • don’t think Salman needs that kind of hit track for the films to work. Other than Dabanng none of his other big releases have had this anyway. Maybe to an extent Ready but this too was completely pedestrian stuff that worked situationally and became big.

This could be the highest bollywood grosser…watched Ravi Teja’s Kick and I feel bollywood lovers and Salman fans will go gaga over this. Although they have clearly spent more money to make this more lavish and stylish compared to the original.

    • Better than Jai Ho but worse than every other soundtrack of his since Dabangg! The Honey Singh song I surprisingly hate and Tu Hi To is bland. Hangover is pretty good and Jumme Ki Raat is a chartbuster for sure.

  27. Tu Hi Tu Har Jagah Salman’s Voice

Salman has sung this song much better than the much publicized Hangover song . After his Being Human paintings this is another facet to his artistic skills. The song is aided by few beautiful lyrics…

Tu hi tu har jagah, aaj kal kyun hai
Tu hi tu har jagah, aaj kal kyun hai
Raaste har dafaa, sirf tera pataa
    Mujhse pooche bhala kyun hai
Naa main apna raha, naa kisi aur ka
    Aisa mere Khuda kyun hai
