    So Bachchan Pandey in March and Prithviraj in June. Good luck to Akshay, hope he gets 2 more big hits with these.

        Lol … even Akshay’s wife wud not find this poster that appealing.

        HGOTY will never be Akshay’s this year. It wont be like 2021 where he has the only biggie releasing. The competition is immense this year:

        SRK – Pathan
        Aamir – LSC
        Salman – Tiger 3
        Ranbir – Shamshera, Brahmastra
        Prabhas – Adipurush
        Hrithik – Vikram Vedha
        Devgn – Maidaan
        Ranveer – Cirkus

        If any of Akshay’s film can beat all of the above films and become HGOTY in 2022, then Akshay wud have really arrived and i will be first to acknowledge it.

          Also i expect at least one film to do 300+ by end of 2022. Akshay hasn’t delivered in that range yet. So good luck to him on the HGOTY front.

          I think the data from Tanhaji in 2020 right up till Pushpa in 2021 needs to looked at in a combined fashion since the number of releases in both years have been barely minimal. Tanhaji, Baaghi 3, Street Dancer, Sooryavanshi, Antim and 83 have been the only tentpoles while the likes of Shubh Mangal 2, Malang, Bunty & Babli 2, SMJ 2 and Pushpa have been the mid range releases. Even FIs classifications for both the pandemic years might be combined eventually, in which case Tanhaji is easily the biggest hit among all. Sooryavanshi came nowhere close to Tanhaji despite a Diwali release, higher ticket prices, a 70% higher day 1 initial and no covid wave at the time.

        Since Akshay captires the more prestigious HTGOTY Highest total grosser of the year since past several years, he has been consistentpy successful. The leap is now certain where his new normal is around 200 cr.

        Sooryavanshi pre pandemic numbers are 280-300 cr. I am certain itnwould had done more…but lets leave it.

        So in 2022 starting with Bachchan Pandey and then Prithviraj, Raam Setu, Cindrella and Rakshabandhan – Akshay will have an unchallenging 2022. We can agree to put him aside now and not tag him with other stars as its unfair with the number of commercial and prestige films he is doing.

          Bachchan Pandey, Prithviraj, Raam Setu – wud be a damper if he still cant go past the 200 cr mark by a margin in 2022.

      Fire torch and light torch might not have same purpose.

      Fire is used to ward off bats etc.

    Was at a backyard party last Saturday with around 8 friends , all my age, all huge Bachchan fans.
    All were of the opinion that Bachchan sahab should now gracefully retire .
    I hope Uunchai is a great hit and Bachchan sahab retires from the Uunchai of success.
