Firstly Adipurush is a Bollywood film. Secondly, collections down south are highly inflated & usually fake. Even if taken at face value Telugu films are always top heavy but barely last beyond a week due to a hooligan fanbase. Barring a few odd exceptions here and there the Telugu industry is a jok.

It maybe most smart decision by Aamir Khan to sticking to this movie for his comeback. The whole pressure and debate about huge boxoffice success will be out. Here, it should be just as good movie as TZP and still it’ll do extremely well and everyone’s fine with that success and gets back his form. If it was pure commercial venture, the pressure to deliver 400-600 crs would be enormous and actually not justified. Once this movie is out of the way, Aamir can sign any films and get back to more commercial ventures.

I think the idea to comeback with a smaller movie is fine. For the moment Aamir needs a success just to get back in the groove. Unfortunately this seems like a film topic he’s touched in different guises before. Ideally a movie in Sarfarosh territory would be the better option.

I’m talking about the idea of smaller content-oriented films over commercial films. Others rejecting doesn’t prove anything, it’s not going to suit them, it’ll suit Aamir as he has done similar films and is in that zone. It’s a film which one can’t dislike it especially if it’s made with specially challenged kids. To say if it’ll be better than TZP or inferior to it, only time will tell but other stars not doing doesn’t mean anything. But hey, I know why you sound bitter after Jawan…I would like see you after Dunki..Lol.
Jay: Sarfarosh 2 or Ghajini 2 is best bet for success if that’s all is needed.

Folks who had endorsed the toxic vigilantism of Rang De Basanti have no right to be complaining against Jawan. Such poisonous Marxist screenplay (along with all the junk like Indian, Shivaji etc. that Shankar has been making over the years) can only see the light of day in a society still thriving on freebies, bandhs, reservation quotas and labor unions. Holding the entire system and society to ransom is completely different from unidirectional, perpetrator oriented vigilantism of A Wednesday and the Batman films.

I think the reason why SRK’s reinvention has been so successful this time around, is because he has brought over his female fanbase for his action films by giving more prominence to women and, making the motive of his hero to avenge the mother figure, like Dimple in Pathaan or Deepika here.

Dimple’s part was almost in the end, the point was SRK was missed on screen and everyone wanted to watch him in regular commercial venture and showed up. It’s the narrative he’s on break and one by one announcements in 2022 with 3 announcement videos that just made everyone sit up and notice and support him all the way. The female audience didn’t even care for Zero which had nothing for masses.

Master, you’re talking about the opening of Pathaan. It was also that the big scale action movies he always wanted to do were flavor of the season and that Pathaan was the first post pandemic Hindi blockbuster so pent up demand was there.
What I’m talking about is why Pathaan and particularly Jawan trended so well. I’m sure if we had accurate demographics, we’d see the women proportion much higher for these two than the genre usual.

Cannot ignore the governments Khelo India initiative that’s led to this massive turnaround in Indian sports. Top 50 in the 2020 Olympics and now among the top 5 at the Asiad. Achievements that go much much beyond the cricket field alone with Neeraj Chopra being India’s poster boy without bogus celebrity dating shenanigans or daft social media reels.

Entire ensemble have given memorable performances.
The background score is high on adrenaline. The song ‘Jeetega’ gives instant goosebumps. Editing is super sharp.
Last 30 minutes is OUTSTANDING and AkshayKumar gives a performance which will fetch him AWARDS.
This film is pure heart and mind.
MUST WATCH.

Akshay’s been over exposed for years. He should pause and introspect a lot.
He may end up releasing a film that is superb but because his box office pull has reduced it may get swallowed up by all the other disasters.
There is little merit in just ‘doing’ films. If he was doing as low salary, fair play but I doubt he is. The people paying him for single digit openings must be the dumbest around.

Sadly Mission Raniganj has opened pretty much the levels of Selfiee though in terms of story it did look a stronger film from the trailer but when its a film on a disaster especially fllooding and water it needs far betetr vfx. Also with business so bad in Punjab (political) its not the best thing to have the main lead as a sardaar until things get better in circuit. Yes Gadar 2 was a huge but that is Gadar and its an outright Hindi mass film while this is more of a content film.
Thank You For Coming also had a dull start and this film is said to be based on female orgasms and somehow got passed by the censors. Its not hard to imagine how bad this film will be and makers of this type of cinema (so called) should actually be paraded so the masses can garland this lot with eggs, tomatoes, chappals and other things which would not be right to mention here. Actually the section of the industry that believes in ormax tracking may actually get orgasms on this film and call it superb content. In reality its embarrassment in the name of cinema and best hidden away on some OTT platform. The media and critics may be a part of this orgasm lot as well so they will try and get people into cinemas and lets see how well they do.

Vivek is just in shock. He thought that he would get the same type of support he did during KF.
During KF, there was plenty of open ground level support of the film from even Chaiwala who would offer free Chai if you bring the KF ticket stub.
Plenty of individual and Org who offered free tickets.
And this was not like 1 person or 1 Org, there were many different Org sponsoring the movie.
Vivek probably expected same for VW too, at minimum he thought he would get that from the party he is clearly favoring.
I think he will have difficult time with Delhi Files too because who will be the enemy in that movie?

Actualy Sacnilk had reported 31K tickets yesterday morning and then they made it 23K ticket in night with a comments saying – There was multiple block booking which we removed and now it is 23K.
So much for no corporate booking.
Akshay should ask all the brands he endorse to buy tickets and give it for free and try it even then he wont be abke to get a better advance booking for the movie. Thats the actual truth

Khufia : I liked it a lot. The good thing was that it was not boring or give a feeling of stretched ( except maybe Tabu and her son’s scenes) .
Wamiqa after Jubilee , Charlie Chopra and now Khufia is emerging to be a Top class actor. Her solo dance performance in a Bikini ney dil jeet liya , by god kee kasam, kya curves hain.
the actor who played the mother is just too good, what a find. The BGM is very effective. I am so glad that unlike in Charlie Chopra VB did not recruit anyone from Naseer khandaan.
Overall, I was able to finish it in one setting with some single malt. Ending was satisfying, no artsy – woke type jhamela in this movie for a change.

Will add that the actor who played the role of mother will win several awards, I think Wamiqa should too. Tabu as cigarette smoking Raaaa agent is extremely effective. The movie has been funded by Government of Alberta. Recent events in Kanaddda have an uncanny resemblance to the event shown in the climax of the movie, i.e. if you swap Khalistani with Bangladeshi .

Folks posting positive reviews are forgetting that even Selfiee got positive reviews. That doesn’t mean much for such films. Selfiee was 2.55 crs Day 1 and this can actually come closer to it as estimates are actually lower than 2.75 crs.

But, it is sad that movies with National heros, getting good reviews from most are flopping.
By flop, I mean they can’t even get a good opening day, never mind opening weekend.
Vaccine War is already out of theaters and at this rate, Mission Raniganj will be out theaters soon. Good thing there’s really nothing releasing next weekend.
I think now we know why it didn’t come last week where it would have enjoyed couple holidays days. They knew the movie will not work and it would have looked even lot worse if it had lost out to movie like fukrey.

People miss the basic point that low promotions and giving that excuse. To even promote, you need lot of money and no producer will spend another 15-20 crs in promotions when they know this ship will sail. Another 20 crs down the gutter is not recommended. Second point is if they know it won’t work, then let it die quietly without many realizing when it came and went instead of over promoting and letting more people know that it flopped.

Folks who are saying lack of promotions..Selfiee had too much promotion and yet nothing happened. I don’t think promoting MR would have helped much. Maybe another crore to it. After last year’s disaster films, this year, folks have given up on him. Only 3 releases this year so far. Selfiee, Mission Raniganj and OMG2 and both films have opened under 3 crores…one full promoted and another no promotion but same opening.

Revisiting a mesmerizing, horrific HBO miniseries. A tale of valor and sacrifice as well as the despicable CRIME that we call “Socialism”, a concept preached by Leftist crooks of Independent India’s first political family and the nation’s so called Father’s (Daddy’s) that unfortunately has gripped the Indian society since Independence.
Every performance, every dialogue and every frame is a poetry in horror. Not only did this cause radiation poisoning but the Chernobyl PTSD (that even led a lot of folks to take their own life) is something seldom spoken of.

RRR did $14.4 million during his run and then with special shows and shows during Oscar run made the total cross $15.34. Jawan will still cross it in coming weeks. Don’t forget the ticket prices for RRR and Baahubali here compared to Pathaan or Jawan.
The most trended and long run movie is Karan Johar’s Rocky, Rani which did 10 million which is huge number. Jawan and Pathaan making it small but that needs huge audience to achieve that number and it’s extraordinary for RRKPK to do it.

But if movie is getting good reviews and movie is good and still audience don’t want to come, that’s more worrying sign. Akshay is still not understanding and going and giving such interviews to please his audience, he will alienate neutral movie watching audience. Khufiya – Another mediocre average product by Vishal Bharadwaj. A script full of potential and thrill gets entangled in a messy web of obnoxious VB shenanigans (addicted semi naked housewife, a lesbian intelligence officer, a top of the bill double agent so dumb, he’d put havildars of Delhi Police to shame).
Performances by a talented cast are the only thing going for this film alongside some good cinematography and a handful of procedural scenes involving genuine espionage.
The usual irrelevant and predictable Bharadwaj anti nationalistic pandering about how nationality and borders are the root cause of all wars (one more toast for the commies after Jawan) that we’ve become used to since that awful propaganda piece of writing from a Kashmiri militant that we call “Haider” does not make matters better.
Strictly a one time watch if you have nothing better on your list.
