  1. (4) Introduction of age-based categories of certification by sub-dividing the existing ‘UA’ (12+) category into three more age-based categories — UA 7+, UA 13+, and UA 16+. The age-based markers will be only recommendatory in nature.

  3. Looks like Ranveer is out of Aditya Dhar’s film. He is going for a paternal leave instead.

Hope that Vicky Kaushal gets the opportunity instead!

    • Don 3’s shoot has been postponed as well it will roll next year. Not much happening in Ranveer’s career. When you compare with what Ranbir has in his hands…

At this stage, even Vicky Kaushal or Kartik Aaryan (he is to sign Dhar’s film) or Shahid are ahead of him. He will bounce back. But, he will need a Bhansali to do that, but the latter has moved on from him.

      • Kartik may be good for romcoms but i dont think he fits into Dhar’s style.

      • I dont think i care much about Ranveer’s career or the rat race in Bollywood. But Dhar coming back to direct his second directorial is keenly anticipated from my side.

Dhar may have found it difficult to sell his dream sci-fi epic and raise 600 cr needed for that (always difficult for an one-film old director, even after Uri’s blockbuster success). But thats OK. He has enough credentials (specially after Article 370 becoming the first hit of 2024) to raise 50-60 cr for a medium budget film in Dhurandhar. He can do wonders with such a budget.

Getting a star onboard would mean unnecessary interference and expenditure. If Ranveer has issues with a already completed script, then Dhar should simply move on.

He has already cast an almost unknown face in Uri and made him a star. He has good relation with Vicky and and if Vicky is not available (can happen due to scheduling or other commitments), he can as well cast a fresh face in his next. The key is to make a gripping film.

I found VZ score too sugary for my taste when it released..but slowly I have started to like them…Madan Mohan was genius if you listen to original recordings..

  9. This is not Dhar’s script (although they have used the same title – what a shame!).

Dhar’s script has been put in the back-burner. I guess Dhar is too busy with his life and prep for next film to mind this.

But media is writing stories that its the same film, what a mess!

  10. Madgaon Express is getting such high praise, too bad it doesn’t have even one saleable star. Most of then call its so different than usual bollywood comedies and so fresh. I hope it does well. Kunal Khemu might have cracked something here.

  12. Trailor of BMCM is derivative but much better than anything they have shown so far. Production values are very good. Looks like it is indeed a 300cr budget movie.

Lets see if there is any traction now in interests

I am unable to post trailor link for some reason.

    • Dialogues are problem..Those dialogues sounded good with Salman in early 2010s..now even with him they sound stale.

      • Akshay Kumar Dialogue delivery is so bad it makes Tiger Shroff dalogue delivery look better.

Prithviraj even with a Kerala Hindi accent looks good even with no face shown

Overall it is atleast a trailor which could get some traction on a holiday. My guess is it will opn around 20 to 22crs for now as it is a huge holiday

    Fighter:

A decent film that mostly stays away from tried-and-tested tropes of desi crowd pleasing entertainment. Pretty good acting from everyone. It’s uniformly good, but doesn’t really hit the highs one may expect in a film of this genre.

possibly the most understated Siddharth Anand film

At the onset, Brahmayugam sets the expectations—a horror, or a psychological horror, set in the 17th century. Two travellers who have just escaped the brutal clutches of slavery, wish to cross the tumultuous river to a life of freedom and betterment. One unfortunately falls prey to a yakshi, while the other, still unable to cross the river, ends up at the dilapidated ruins of a manor and at the mercy of its lord, played by Mamootty.

The film plays like a red herring, subverting expectations at every step. The manor and its surroundings form the central part of the narrative—a jigsaw puzzle, a wormhole from there seems to be no escape.

The cinematography is at once stunning and suffocating and unwelcoming, and much like its characters, cold and formidable. There’s never a moment of respite. As a viewer, you watch everything from the protagonist’s perspective, which makes the terror genuine and several moments spine chilling, in spite of no jump scares. But the film at its heart and under the facade of folklore horror is essentially a strong statement against the the evils of casteism and absolute power, which corrupts and demolishes.

The folklore and the story at the heart is at once reminiscent of Tumbbad and Manichitrathazhu and this might hold its own against the greatness of those epics. Mamoothy is great as the terrifying landlord whose grin and gait hint towards a quite a few skeletons in his closet, but the other two actors hold their own against the legend with their natural acting.
