Good to see a non bourne project from the duo which still looks exciting…it’s raining Matt Damon!

Metacritic’s not scoring this too highly but it’s getting good reviews from the right folks (Hoberman, Scott)…I’m seeing it as soon as possible.

I just saw this. A thrilling film, and it really deserves a far wider viewership than has been the case so far – after two epic fantasies in Avatar and Alice in Wonderland, one hopes American audiences have time for something a bit more grounded. Politics aside, (where such a leap is possible) this is just a supremely well-directed action/war film that has its heart in the right place. The political anger here dovetails nicely with Greengrass’ lean, frantically paced aesthetic in a way that recalls Bloody Sunday and of course, the two Bourne movies he wonderfully directed. This isn’t a meditation on the causes and effects of the Iraq war but a brilliantly realized work of docu-fiction that carries an energy that you can practically feel.
