The trailer looks beautiful and evocative. If he stops doing J2 type of mindless films, he can become another Ranbir Kapoor.

on the opposite, he MUST do J2 type BO money-spinners while mixing with such niche films – only that will propel him to top 5 league. Aamir has been doing that since last 15 years now

Agreed. Ranbir is in the doldrums for this precise reason. Choosing non entertaining niche trash like Rockstar, Tamasha & BV which have run of the mill content with zero entertainment but are passed off as thought provoking cinema by the pseudo intelligentsia. October however is a Shoojit Sircar film whose given us genuine urban entertainers like VD & Piku unlike the rubbish dished out by Anurag Kashyap & Imtiaz in the name of “good cinema”. Hence October has some expectation.

Agreed here. He needs to continue doing deals like J2, mixing it up with niche films. His strength lies in varying the genres.
