  1. What a trailer! Riteish is the surprise packet. Tiger is going to maximise his gain from War.
The scale is looking biger than War which is no mean achievement. Actually to give equal.footage to Hrithik, Tiger was made.to go.slow.
No such drawbacks here and Tiger is looking phenomenal and Baaghi 3 is looking like a Rambo level in trailer.

    • A War like release date (Luckiest release) would have taken Baaghi3 to 350 cr. Now a 250 cr+ is certain.

    • Equal footage to Hrithik in War? Lol, you sound more ridiculous with each post. Tiger himself has confessed on more than 2 occasions that his inspiration, guru and model has been HR himself. War was a one man dominated show. The entry scene itself was enough proof. Baaghi 3 is retrograde trash that makes TZH seem refined and Spielberg like. Live with it!

    • There is an irony with history.

The history remembers those who are still relevant.

Like the less relevant fathers are now becoming more relevant because of their kids popularity. The older trash of few stars are still get talked about in better light now because those stars are still around, etc.

If Tiger keeps doing movies like this, he would even get away with media calling War his own success. This would be unfair to Hrithik but that’s how it is.

      • “If Tiger keeps doing movies like this, he would even get away with media calling War his own success.” – as much as you desperately want that to happen, it ain’t anywhere close. Tiger was a supporting actor in War while the lead had the media branding him as a national crush, most handsome man & what not. If War 2 is ever made, Tiger would not even be part of it. Tiger’s only achievement in War is he didn’t make a complete fool of himself like AB did in Dhoom 2, thanks to his agility & stunts (although in the dance number he surely seemed a junior artist) Someone needs to use brains before their fingers & that’s definitely not me!

  4. In the 80s, you had Van Damme, Stallone, Segal, etc. That’s the market that Tiger is going for now – not a bad idea, but these are very disposable films at best. However, good action scripts are hard to find even in Hollywood, so you can’t blame the guy.

    • Tiger’s ridiculously athletic and more could be done with his physical skills. These films are so bad. Just make something like Taken or Bond with him. This physical action is really wasted, Bollywood has no clue how to make such a movie interesting.

      • There aren’t enough makers to even use HR’s stardom, popularity & body language effectively beyond silly films like Dhoom 2 & Bang Bang and slightly better War (even this went haywire), effectively using someone like Tiger whose pretty much cardboard beyond his action & dance skills is a far shot.

        • Van Damme, Stallone, Segal, etc. all wooden actors. Comparing that generation to some awesome action thrillers like MI series, Taken, Bourne series, Bond or any number of Denzel Washington films since noughties- the quality is up. Bollywood’s bar is too low but you’re right you need the right directors not likes of who we have. I would not mind copying a good film like Taken scene for scene instead the shit Bollywood regularly dishes out by trying to be original.

These movies make Don series (the Farhan ones) seem like masterpieces.

          • I have seen many of the Segal,Van Damme movies and they have decent story line and good screenplay. I don’t find that even in very good rated Hindi movies (all genres). I can deal with wooden acting in action movies but you need something which is tolerable for screenplay.

          • Its neither jealousy (I have nothing to lose even if Tiger becomes India’s Jackie Chan) nor corrosive fanaticism like your’s. Its plain fact check. Its not my problem if the audience hoots & roots only for 1 performer out of the 2 in an actioner like War. Not my problem if the director & producer considered Tiger to be a disposable asset for the War franchise and certainly not my problem if the film became the highest grosser despite the absence of 1 market & stiff challenge in the A1 centers from an Oscar nominated Hollywood blockbuster. Its plain fact check. I’ll be more than happy for Tiger to delivers hits but the Baaghi films are nothing more than retrograde single screen appeasing mindless masala junk that someone of Tiger’s skills can do without unless he’s finding nothing else to work on.

  5. I think we are giving Hollywood too much credit…the first Taken was fun, but still a very standard script. The sequels are absolutely horrible. Fast and Furious movies (except Fast 5 which is awesome) are no better than this Baaghi stuff.

As for Bond, Casino Royale is the only ‘great’ Bond film made in recent times….Spectre was just terrible, and Skyfall, although beautifully shot, often made no sense, and had huge plot holes (even for a Bond film) that critics just ignored.

I do like the Denzel ‘Equalizer’ movies a lot, but again the scripts are nothing great.

Similarly, the Jackie Chan/BruceLee/ Jet Li era is also unrepeatable in Chinese movie.

Much has to do with SFX now becoming bigger than the stars.

  6. The reason why this trailer is getting overwhelming response is because we do not have anyone who can do action like Tiger, and there is surely a fanbase/market for this.

Vidyut, who can do similar action, never got the support he deserved which just goes on to show that despite talent unless you are Shroff/Roshan you will not get that big entry. Yes that big entry is important and Vidyut is losing his best years because of lack of that BIG entry.

Hrithik is basically now only relying on this genre if we see his last 3-4 choices and probably the next ones. He is less athletic than Tiger/Vidyut and cannot do similar stunts but he more than makes it up with his ‘better’ acting and dance. But he does so few films his talent is on show piece most of the time.

Apart from these three, Salman has tried this genre in Tiger Zinda Hai and has been most successful. But again his physicality doesn’t allow him to do those stunts.

    Going to the past:

I know many would not get impressed but action stunts are still the biggest draw in India. I remember Dharmendra/Amitabh having a separate fan base just because they used to do stunts themselves. Their action sequences usually were the best when it came. Public notices these things.

In 90’s Akshay/Sunil/Ajay did some pretty amazing stunts and one still remembers those. But they never got the directors/story tellers. Hence one doesn’t remember those movies but certainly the action clips still goes round in social media for action starved audience.

Same is happening now. We need action directors/ story tellers and a bit more budget to not get the feel of “seen this before in a hollywood film”.

My full marks to Tiger for doing something which others cannot.

    • Also in hard core actioners, one requires the star to not show emotions. The no expression/ wooden face makes the audience in theatre believe that they mean real business. The emotional bit has to run in undercurrent which is why a strong story teller/director is needed in this genre.

The wooden expression is actually the reason why Arnold or Syl got so successful. But they got amazing directors/story in their movie which when combined with their no nonsense look, the entire unbelievable action became just more believable. They came across as believable when they will get up after getting knocked down with zero expression.

Vidyut’s looks are a bit old imo. Tiger looks way more boyish and connects with the younger crowd. He is also an excellent dancer which also works to his favour.

Does he have a long career? Probably not – people will get tired of this stuff after a while unless he starts selecting better scripts.

      • Sure after all talent does matter. But a 3-4 years onboarding which includes doing several roles / petty films is needed for new comer before they get a film which is usually the film a Shroff/Roshan stars with.

Of course if you are talented then you take off either ways. No one could have stopped Tiger or Hrithik even if they had started ordinary. But yes instant stardom is unlikely.

On Anil’s son..i think Anil should have worked upon his son’s launch. Ditto for Amitabh. If the fathers don’t work on their kid’s launch they don’t prosper. One failure and their is little chance.

Fathers who really worked for their kid’s sons-

        Rajendra Kumar
        Raj Kapoor
        Jackie Shroff

So he called all his friends and well wishers including Barjatyas. Luckily Barjatyas were then looking for a new star cast to launch the career of their youngest son Sooraj Barjatya. Salman bagged the role as Salim’s Saab call got him to audition.
Salman Also landed in several movies thanks to his father.

At several stage in his life, Salim Khan has come as advisor and guide proving himself to be a major reason for Salman’s success.

Whatever next? It seems any superstar except Akshay Kumar has some timbuktu reasons for his/her success yet you fell in love with Akshay Kumar for honourable reasons! Please confirm whether you are sober when writing such nonsense. It could be true that Salman got his break due to his superstar writer dad, very likely, likewise Hrithik/Aamir due to father/uncle or whatever but they are where they are now after some 20 or 30+ years…the ship has sailed, the cows are home…history lesson most of us know.
            On 16th Jan 2020

No 1 Akshay Kumar – Had a historic 2019 after a fabulous 2016-2018. All eyes on his next.

No 2 Salman Khan – His films are still getting bumper openings. He just need to get that one superhit.

No 3 Hrithik Roshan – Had a career changing year in 2019. From No where in 2018 to Top 3 by end of 2019. Needs to do a quickie and get a release in 2020.

No 4 Ajay Devgn – Superhit success of Tanhaji + fantastic run since last few years

No 5 Ranveer Singh – He has slipped two positions since last 6 months due to zero release and competition doing better.

No 6 – Ayushmann Khurana – The hit machine. He is all set to enter top 5 in 2020 if all goes as good as 2018-19 for him. He is now a star.

No 7 Tiger Shroff – His lineup in 2019 includes Baaghi 3 which can be his War of 2020.

No 8 Aamir Khan – The Santa will return this Christmas. Enough of 300 Cr targets.

No 9 Ranbir Kapoor – No one now remembers when Sanju released. He is in hibernation. Potentially a huge star like Aamir Khan.

            No 10

John Abraham – He is steady. Needs some miracle to enter Top 5 Varun Dhawan – Kalank tanked. Can he rise with next week’s release?

  8. As 4 people are wrongly framing me to advocate only Akshay then i should put the record straight.

They are mostly right. I do but rarely at the cost of other stars. Not an approach followed by any of the four. These four try to upgrade their star at the cost of others/their films. I usually do not do. Sometimes i do to give a tit for tat. I like doing tit for tat. Makes the forum interesting otherwise it will just be theoretical site.

I have been advocating Hrithik and Aamir Khan more than anyone else in this forum. On Aamir, Yes collectively Jayshah + Marcus + Tonymontata + Aamirfans + 6,7 wise chosen members, they appear jointly doing it. But individually i still like Aamir more than each.

On Hrithik, I think Shivaay does more. I am sometimes a bit harsh on him. Because while i think Aamir is 5-6 more movies, and one cannot do much on Hrithik i want him to do 30 more movies. And looking at the impossibility, my frustration ends up in replying to Shivaay in the same language. He is KRKish for me. Difficult to ignore. However i know if we meet, we will become good friends.

    • Many a times I wonder if you are actually an Akshay hater disguised as a fan. So you can derive pleasure from the Akshay bashing by others. Either ways, you are asking for it.

    • Artists do not choose or act on your whims & fancies mate. You gotta make the most of whatever you get & watch. Better to cherish what comes your way, be it Dangal, War, Kesari or Tanhaji than hope & get pissed off when expectations aren’t met & indulge in unwarranted bias & fanaticism.

        • I repeat, i do not make endless rants or spammy comments for 1 artist, even if there’s a partial bias towards HR, Ajay or Aamir in a lot of my comments. And nor do i believe in temporary, weekly ratings as imo stardom is a long term process that takes years to establish & decades to sustain & can only be estimated by all time records, initials & inflation adjusted all time collections as a true yardstick.

  9. Tiger doesn’t seem to have improved at all in acting department since his debut. He is so bland even in dialogue deliveries. Let’s see till when he can survive with such acting and jumping abilities.
