and uncertain future lies ahead… KINGDOM of HEAVEN! (ROONEY on bollywoods future)

(i know we discuss this daily and mostly we all know wat we think.. still couldnt resist to add one more post on same !! as indeed i feel more interesting time lies ahead)

TITLE- KINGDOM OF HEAVEN!

LASTLY and not least very important times lies ahead bigger and significant than ever where, kingdom (bwood) will never remain the same, the power equations have changed, and it requires a final conclusion..

ACE

Ace has taken over and how and his batallion is such even his weakest army is conquering, HE SITS ABOVE HIS KINGDOM in peace, fearless and planning and preparing as always at a snails pace, but his plans have never failed. with a single stroke last christmas he established his supremacy, and established an empire to which even dream of required leaps of faith but hes not known for keeping the front and famous for being tortoise in his moves while rabbit lies sleeping! but will the rabbit wake up this time ? as the ACE is indulging in small acquisitions, and small fishes.. and he has in word of his critics lacked the ruthlessness at top which critics demanded from him and like always he seems to be in his own world WAKE UPPPPPPPP ??? ACE! sleeping at the DHOBI GHAAT.

KING

king has long lost the kingdom, neither is he finding favour among his people and thus is surviving in greenlands far away from his kingdom… can king take his own kingdom back? it was his kingdom as they allege but will he get the love back ? remains to be answered, when fate and destiny conspire the mightiest have bowed down but king has always been known for his bravery.. will it be

THE GLADIATOR who travelled far, only to conquer ROME again?
OR
EMPIRE STRIKES BACK ??

It is his war to be lost, all he has to do is turn up for his beloved people, but the wars are always won by architects of battle and both directors look unconvincing as of now, and as usual the KING will fight for battle on his own name. and that has alway been the plan but indeed with a surprise as KIng charters the unchartered water.. with the most ambitious and intriguing project of our times.. AND With our own tango bhai making a presence felt .. the king has gone atleast one game changer in his pack of jokers (pun intended)

OUTSIDER

can the outsider who was always the outsider who just came close lately and indeed took control but lost kingdom and greenland make it happen… this christmas holds the key for him.. WILL IT BE ALWAYS THE OUTLANDER! or

will it be the FORBIDDEN KINGDOM FOREVER…

PRINCE

will there be the prince who outjumPs them all πŸ™‚ he has always been considered disciple of ACE, but with his failure earlier summer, and his commander and architect being one with doomed past.. what lies beneath them a plan to conquer or establishment of steady stones and base.. for all and that.. as one shouldnt forget and always keep in mind at one stage he was indeed the ruler and how … but the way time changes and how it changes.. says it all when we say it has to begin again… indeed it would have been better it prince had not flew that kite πŸ˜‰

I SUPPOSE THE BATMAN BEGINS… OR IS IT THE INCEPTION

THE HEIR

HE has shown the flair of uprooting the king singlehandedly this summer with an unknown architect, and he alone gives KING his biggest fear and his only competitor, as ACE sleeps, outsider with history of fumbles.. will it be HEIR WHO RUMBLES? even before KING prepares one final attack .. HEIR has two big war in his hands, and with them accomplished he could end the KING forever even before it begans?

AN ENTIRE GENERATION AWAITS

the most epic saga of our time

who will conquer

will the ace be default as all fails

will empire finally strike back or stay in greenland

will outsider finally conquer the holy grail

will prince lay his foundations

will the heir outwit them all

HOW THE HISTORY WILL LOOK AT THIS AND SAY who would have made the difference.

GUYS wat are ur views do share m looking forwards to it. I hope we all be neutral and predict irrespective of whom are our preferiti !

i will give my view / prediction on winner in comments section.

(hey guys just couldnt resist the hyping and marketing like hollywood movie and its written more with fantasies and passion and to provide mythical view on seriously boring subject to write imo, thus i have preferred the hyperbole and puns and metaphors πŸ™‚ )

  1. very interesting…!..lemme give my views on it
the ace is always as good as his movies( nd dey r dam good)..so if he gets lazy he wudnt be thtat popular for long..i cant never expect the ace to win this in the long run.

the Outsider in my view was a serious contender because of sheer volum eof hits tht he can generate…but with the lows he has seen..it wud require some luck for him to take the kingdom..

the heir is out of context here..! cmon…he needs to provide blockbusters on his own frst..he has a long way to go..maybe 5-7 yrs down the line..when the oders are retiring

the prince has the talent, the looks as well as the following…but some how..he messes it upp every now and den..it wud be a close fite between prince and heir in the longer run…

as for the KING…he has been written off in 1994..2000…2004…2006…and now again…(pardon me if m wrong wid the yrs)…the point is he has been the single person who has been compared with all oder Aces, princes, heirs etc..
and every now and then he comes back stronger both in terms of BO and acting or be it international recognition..though he is incomparable in greenland…shudnt we consider that too…isnt the whole world an audience in todays times…??..his misses (as per some) ..end up making more money then accept the ace’s christmas massacres..!! he has a very solid fanbase and at any point he cant be too far from the throne..
    THE KING SHALL RISE AGAIN.period

  2. The ace will rule for quite a while while the heir consolidates.King will slowly slip into oblivion. The Outsider will hang around for a while in diminihed capacity. Eventually the Heir will take over. Prince’s future is uncertain.

But, more importantly all of the above pale into insignificance in face of the sheer briliiance and incandescence of the Uber Ruler.

  3. Nice picture…btw catching dhobi ghat next Friday at Toronto Film Festival. It’s a premier so Aamir should be there most likely. The ticket price is a bit steep – 40 dollars but I think it’s worth it for a premier.

Really looking forward to it πŸ™‚

  6. I may be particularly dense, but I don’t get who “The Heir” is supposed to be. I mean I thought I knew, but the description of “uprooting the King this summer” doesn’t fit.

And it seems to me you have left a major player out of calculation. πŸ™‚

    • well i left him out intentionally(i have a para for him but that was not posted), as i wanted u to come and write about it next week, till then m not writing about MACHO! yeh hamara stly hain πŸ™‚

everything abt him after sm writes! πŸ™‚ (sort of reminder πŸ˜‰ )

ps- on uprooting king this summer unlike other people i genuinely believe the heir can do it this and this summer though recognisation maybe given later, its like Lagaan Moment of Ace, this is the moment when heir can do it, and m rooting for him πŸ™‚

sorry, couldnt read the entire post / ensuing discussion.
but curious to double check–who is the “prince” and “heir” here.
“macho” seems to be left out rightly in the above!

  8. somehow i dont like aamir vs srk comparison. this makes aamir one among the others such as salman (1996-2000) sunny (2001) hritik (2001-2003) vivek (2004) bachchan (2005-2006) akshay(2007-2008) who got this opportunity to be compared with srk. In such comparisons srk remains the constant while other commodities keep changing. just an year ago there was srk vs akshay comparison. where is akshay now. before that was bachchan vs srk. since then bachchan gave countless disasters.

aamir is different from such heroes for many reasons. he is here to stay. he will rule. let srk be compared with akshay, bachan and hritiks…. and lets keep changing the opponents as they give an odd hit here or there.

    Hi Dear friends,

This might be out of context.but some how thought of writing it here.

Yesterday randomly surfing the idiot box stopped at a channel which was showing ‘Family’.. It was for the 1st time i was watching it.

And found it to be interesting and good!!!

Heard lots of bad report about the movie.
    But somehow i liked it.

More over may be because of Sr Bachchan’s sheer screen presence, his way of enacting the role of a Don and the manner he delivers the dialogues..It reminded me of Agnipath, sarkar and Deewar all the while!!!
Last 1/2 hr of the movie was fantastically shot and acted by all..But Sr. bachchan outshines everyone..

Dear Satyam, do you have any review or any member from this site who wrote any kind of review or thoughts on the movie ‘family’.

I would really appreciate this gesture of the people of this site to share it with me.

    Thanks,
    Amit

      • Oho! so I *was* wrong on whom I guessed the “Heir” to be! Now your comment about “uprooting the King this summer” makes perfect sense. πŸ™‚

        • thnks sm i hope finally theres somebody to whom that makes sense πŸ™‚ becoz not many out there believe this can indeed be moment of truth, a chance of life for him!!

when ace sleeping, king waiting .. he has chance and quantity of films πŸ™‚

rajneeti did 95.. if he can get atleast two to similiar total.. he does the job πŸ™‚ imo

also heir was used in pun intended sense as hes a kapoor and its his families legacy.. and ofcourse in current scenario.. he seems genuine heir to formerlies srks and now aamirs kingdom.. but question is when and what time unless he screws (m sorry of u find that bad vocab) it up bigtime

ps- whom did u guess as heir??

audience have lost faith in him imo.

          drona,
          raavan.. enough.

ofcourse miracles happens but i think here it will be ough for him.. he just cant open movies like big stars, neither he chooses audience friendly subjects unforunately.

Thanks a lot rooney about your view on ‘family’ :).. Rooney do you remember the scene the climax where Sr. bachchan just plays with his lips. it was so ruthless and cool..

Satyam.. hope you get it right this time πŸ™‚ as i am not at all interested in ‘we are family’ πŸ˜‰

Rooney – All this while i was thinking Abhishek as Heir. Thanks for clarifying.

  12. Guys, so I saw Dhobi Ghaat last night. Here are some quick thoughts. I will write a proper review when I get time.

    Yes, I was there.

Really liked the film, it’s a very layered piece of work, shot in cinema-verite style with definite influences from Wong-Kar Wai’s cinema. It’s also an intimate character drama about an american investment banker on a sabbatical returning to Bombay, and the 2 men (Aamir and Prateik) that come into her life. Above all, Kiran Rao has written a love letter to the city of Bombay, capturing all its colors and hues.

Let me just confirm it’s not mainstream at all. To put things in perspective, Peepli Live is like Ghajini compared to this.

Aamir is competent as always but the showstopper is Prateik Babbar, who puts in a very touching performance as the titular Dhobi. This guy is going to have a very bright career.

It was a packed theater – around 1500 people. The crowd went crazy when Aamir arrived but again it was Prateik who got the most applause and cheers during the QA session after the film ended.

    • And, to be fair, most stars in Aamir’s position do not sell films unless they are the focal point. It is good to see him lend his marketing/star clout to a film that isn’t “about” him.

    • “Peepli Live is like Ghajini compared to this”

What a great line, lol….and that’s about as interesting an endorsement as there can be. And regarding Prateik, that’s great to hear. He had an interesting if underwritten presence in JTYJN (which I didn’t like much otherwise) and it’ll be good to see him in an actual, fleshed-out role. I think the reason I have any sort of interest in this guy is because he has such a striking resemblance to his late great mother.

    • Also, one thing I’m really looking forward to with his film is the score by the always wonderful Gustavo Santaolalla…

  14. I guess it takes certain level of maturity and security to take on a non-focal role. I think it would be foolish to have any kind of BO aspirations for this film.
