    Was a tight final-Worthy of a final
190 in 20 overs can be difficult for ANY team
    And it was overtaken
After gambhirs exit, thought it was over
Have long considered Jacques kallis amongst the all time best all rounders (if not the best) played in typical manner.
    SOme respite for SRK

ideally KKR should’ve win easily with 9 wickets remaining and 62 runs to win off 42. But CSK made a comeback.

Last three overs or so were really exciting. Kallis’ knock was brilliant

Jacques kallis is the uncrowned king of world cricket currently!
Have always considered his ‘currency’ to any team more than any superlative batter or bowler..
And this is when he is past his peak..
Ps-thought KKR had packed up after gambhirs exit …but bisla and kallis played match winning innings…

        • see my comment on kallis in the other ipl thread. btw only player in the 90’s who was challenging kallis for the top allrounder’s throne was the tall and big-hitting handsome kiwi ‘chris cainrs’- but injuries cut short what could have been truly a great carrier. actually only sobers ranks above kallis. btw chennai missed bollinger and murali big time in the finals

Why is Shah Rukh Khan still an outsider in the film industry?

    Excerpt-
Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. It’s only Shahrukh Khan who, in the true sense of the word, has come close enough to be included in this hallowed pack of stars. There’s hardly any doubt about the membership credentials of Aamir and Salman Khans but theirs wasn’t ever as meteoric

a rise like Shahrukh Khan. And unlike the two Shahrukh was the outsider who broke through but in spite of it all, the burden of being the outsider weighs Shahrukh down.
Try to look as hard and far possible but you’d never find a world packed tighter than the one that operates Hindi cinema. This is a place where everything can be justified in the name of familial familiarity. Not a single moment would be wasted to defend someone who publically might be a happily married man but behind closed doors is a wife beater or someone who doesn’t think twice before forcing a filmmaker to cast his son’s sweetheart in a romantic role opposite him, who by the way happens to be the estranged wife of his one time close friend as long as they are part of the tribe. They will not stop at anything to preserve their own and they will go to any lengths to stop the outsiders from getting too close. Somewhere Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, and Amitabh Bachchan, the so called outsiders who like Shahrukh Khan were the biggest stars of their times, transformed into the insiders but Shahrukh still finds himself to be the outsider he started out as. Unlike those before him Shahrukh feted the outsider tag and used it whenever possible to show that he was different. He made it his calling card and on every possible occasion suggested that the lack of baggage and tradition that accompanied an insider made him better than everyone else. He sparked off a million dreams and his stories of walking along Marine Drive promising to be the king of the city one day became folklore. King he became, and yet the kingdom was never his to call.

Eyes Wide Shut is somewhat a disturbing insight into a society that can pose a debate in front of the bourgeois who treat sex as taboo,at least in our country..also in western countries where sex might be a much openly talked commodity but then that commodity if used as Kubrick showed could be disturbing to them too. There is the age old debate between real and surreal too. What you see is what you believe but what if you see is so strange that the sub conscious mind accommodates it with the phantasmagorical.Strange world Kubrick weaves. When I watched it I disntinctly remember being puzzled after having completed it.It made no sense yet it completed a sentence about the essence of society, taboos, real and surreal.

  7. well no one would complain that last ball of 19th over was a no ball or not..16 of 6 became 9 of 6.

ps – I think luck was on KKR side!

    Like

    • well, if we’re talking luck, then, Kallis’s injury was what got him out pretty much. His coordination was completely lost after the injury. So, that’s unlucky.

Also, Shakib only took 1 run from the the no ball, didn’t he? If that’s the case, it really didn’t affect the match much!

      Like

      • Well my comment that was a no ball was a borderline case. Batsmen knee were bent during the stance..But umpire gave noball before the batsman hit the ball.

Don’t you follow Cricket? Well they got extra ball (due to no ball) with free hit which was dispatched for 4 in fine leg side.

        • yeah yeah, sorry, i was just kinda excited when i posted this comment. my bad! I guess luck did go Kolkata’s side, but, AGAIN, luck was also on CSK’s side as well when Kallis got out. KKR woulda won with much ease if Kallis had stayed on. Kallis’s injury worked towards CSK’s favour!

“phantasmagorical.”–graduate–thats the word of the day..
btw as for ‘eyes wide shut’ and kubrick– it was good that u too could see past the obvious ‘explicit’ content and see the complex interplay of the deeper human mental and sucnonscious crevices and devices and also the ‘defense mechanisms’ constructed to ‘explain’ those and also those that are employed to ‘overcome’ those.
Funny since this very ‘overcoming’ attempts lead to the ‘undoing’ in all these attempts
and feel that kubrick achieved it v well
The slight ‘problem’ was that the ‘explicitness’ sometimes distracts most viewers who confuse it with elements of porn–not surprising since nothing but a ‘thin line’ spearates these–though in this occasion, kubrick is firmly saddled towards the ‘right’ side of the paradigm…

  30. Why a Mamata victory rally closely resembles a circus

    http://www.firstpost.com/india/why-a-mamata-victory-rally-closely-resembles-a-circus-324625.html

Thousands thronged the streets, screamed when the jubilant Kolkata Knight Riders held aloft the IPL trophy and then shut up the moment Mamata Banerjee told them to. When Mamata Banerjee holds any rally, whether in victory or loss, and is armed with a microphone there is a typical sequence of events one can expect.

    1. You can’t tell if it’s a official felicitation programme or a school function: Mamata Banerjee told the jubilant Kolkata Knight Riders to stop dancing, stand in line, smile and walk a victory lap. She told Mukul Roy to take care of the governor, who was quickly sent off into the background for the rest of the function. Even the thousands that thronged the Eden Gardens went silent when she told them to. While television audiences may have wondered what was going on, most of Kolkata knew that this was hardly unusual.

    2. When even a firecracker like SRK stands in queue like he’s going to get thrashed for talking in class: Shah Rukh cartwheeled, babbled and generally has made little sense since his team won the IPL on Sunday. But if he was looking to repeat his performance he didn’t get any chance. He tried to get Mamata to dance to a tune but was told that she could only sing, ergo she danced to no one’s tune. Shah Rukh tried scaling the fence at one point but perhaps climbed down after Didi told him to. He should have asked the ministers and other officials present at the ground. They know the protocol.

    3. When there’s a clutch of little-known, and littler-funny Tollywood stars in every frame of TV cameras: Rituparna Sengupta is relatively well-known across India. But Jeet, Locket and a whole host of local celebrities who danced alongside Shah Rukh at one point led the pan-India audience viewing the event to believe they were either team members or members of the crowd who had managed to wander on the stage. Perhaps it explains why at one point Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla went off to one corner of the stage to dance alone.

    4. When every sentence is punctuated with Bangla: You’d better know your Bengali when you’re watching a Mamata Banerjee organised rally. No one knows when English will suddenly change to Bengali and more importantly it could be an instruction directed at you from Didi no less.

    5. When photographers do a headless chicken act: Photographers hate being told where to stand. Most functions are punctuated by shouts asking an errant photographer to sit or stay calm. But photographers in West Bengal know better than to go against Didi’s diktat. She tells them to go left, they go left. She tells them to stand still, they stand still. Perhaps seeing the Union Railway Minister doing the same alongside them takes the sting out of following instructions.

    6. When everything from the curtains, LCD display, water-bottles to the shawl being gifted is a government hospital-blue in colour: Ever since Mamata Banerjee took charge of West Bengal, Kolkata and the state no longer paint anything red and everything is blue. Kolkata Knight Riders got the blue treatment as well with blue shawls around their necks.

    7. When Tagore is background music, Tagore is the speech opener, Tagore kicks Vishal-Shekhar right where it hurts the most: Whether it is an IPL victory or an election one, Mamata Banerjee believes the melodies of Tagore must be played. Shah Rukh Khan realised this when he suddenly found the team anthem abruptly pulled off, only to be replaced by a Tagore song, which he gamely attempted to dance to.

Take an example of Dhoni or Pragyan Ojha. Jharkhand or Odisha don’t have IPL teams. Then what these players will do??

First try to understand the IPL format. You have 28 states and all of them can’t have IPL teams. So u will have to form the team by keeping good players from every region.

    http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report_economists-term-kkr-celebrations-as-colossal-loss-of-productivity_1695345

It was de facto holiday here on Tuesday as the Mamata Banerjee government pulled out all the stops to celebrate Kolkata Knight Riders’ Indian Premier League (IPL) win with thousands of people on the streets and offices reporting thin attendance.

Businesspersons and economists termed it a colossal loss of manhours and productivity.

The West Bengal capital came to a virtual standstill as office-goers either took time off to celebrate or couldn’t get to work even if they wanted to because of road restrictions and traffic snarls.

Thousands lined the roads to watch the victory parade of the Knights, an estimated 70,000 gathered at Eden Gardens where the team was given a civic reception and 20,000-30,000 stood outside, despite it being a working day, unable to get inside.

While the Mamata Banerjee-led government, fighting to clear a debt burden of over Rs2 lakh crore, celebrated, a section of Kolkatans and businesspersons tried to calculate the enormous losses.

“It is a colossal waste. We have lost so many manhours. Though I am not sure whether loss of manhours means loss of productivity to that extent because hardly anybody works in West Bengal,” an economics professor of Jadavpur University, who refused to give his name fearing retaliation from the government, told IANS.

He said the celebrations could have been held during the weekend.

“Today was a nice occasion to disobey the rules, to skip office. But what will Kolkata gain from KKR’s triumph? KKR will get all the prize money. But will it enlighten our state? Will (KKR co-owner) Shah Rukh Khan set up an industry?

Ruchhita Kazaria, who owns advertisement agency Aarcee Enterprises, was aghast

“The preposterous and outrageous celebrations are looking like India has won the Olympics in totality, in every sport division,” Kazaria told IANS

“When Ms. Banerjee has herself quoted that we are a POOR STATE and we can only give greetings and good wishes to the KKR team, has she forgotten that because of this act of hers of inviting the whole of the city during working hours to Eden Gardens, she is just making the city poorer?

“Business hours are being wasted felicitating Mr. Shah Rukh Khan and the KKR team mates. Work is getting hampered beyond tolerance levels and will result in a downward graph for Kolkata and for India on a bigger picture if viewed,” she added.

Another woman entrepreneur, who heads a chemical company, complained that she was unable to go about the daily business as the city had come to a standstill.

“At the end of the month targets have to be achieved, collections made and salaries to be given. Each hour is a loss to not just us but I am guessing to all businesses. It is only an IPL trophy won in the fifth year with very few Bengali players in the team,” she told IANS, also not wishing to be identified fearing retaliation from ruling Trinamool Congress cadres.

“Why is the city so starved of achievements that an IPL trophy calls for a standstill of the entire city? I am so disappointed that we Kolkatans have to resort to this and make a fool of ourselves,” she added

  34. Shah Rukh Khan is ‘cruel’, say Kolkatans as he fails to turn up for roadshow

    http://www.dnaindia.com/sport/report_shah-rukh-khan-is-cruel-say-kolkatans-as-he-fails-to-turn-up-for-roadshow_1695221

Some cursed him, others called him “cruel”. Even the presence of IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players could not take away the disappointment of thousands who braved the scorching sun for hours only to find Bollywood star and team co-owner Shah Rukh missing from the KKR victory parade.

“He is so cruel to be not present. We bunked our classes and have been standing in the sun for over two hours to see him. We are disappointed to say the least,” a college student said, speaking for his group.

Khan surfaced outside the state secretariat where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee came to felicitate the team. He hugged the chief minister, and held aloft the Indian Premier League champions trophy.

Earlier, thousands thronged the Ashutosh Mukherjee Road to witness the victory parade of KKR though most of them had come to see the badshah of Bollywood.

Local councilors had put up a stage at the Jadubabu Bazar, south of the city, to felicitate the KKR players and Khan but his absence of took away all their enthusiasm.

To add up their woe a part of the stage collapsed causing minor injuries to a few.

As the police did not allow the convoy to stop, the councilors threw the flower bouquets towards the players.

The Knights led by skipper Gautam Gambhir waved frantically atop a trailer

“It is a consolation to see Gambhir and his team. We had come here to see Shah Rukh. We now feel like fools after braving the sun for so long,” said a teenager who had been chanting the cinestar’s name in anticipation.

    Bibek Debroy

    http://blogs.economictimes.indiatimes.com/policypuzzles/entry/celebration-for-kkr-all-paribartan-in-west-bengal-has-been-reduced-to-symbols

I do not live or work in West Bengal. Thank God for that. Exiting West Bengal has been good for me, professionally and personally. I, and several others belonging to my generation, have the Left Front to thank, for triggering that exodus.

I studied in Presidency College and a letter to the West Bengal CM, from a present student of the college, suggests that she and her generation will exit West Bengal because of TMC. Since I do not live and work in West Bengal and do not vote there, how the citizens of Bengal decide to celebrate and be happy, is none of my business.

I have nothing to say about your private parties, as long as you celebrate with your own money. The tamasha at Eden Gardens was anything but private, since public expenditure was involved. I may not pay taxes in West Bengal. But I do pay taxes in Delhi.

Those fund resources Kolkata receives through Planning Commission and Finance Commission and whatever incremental resources Bengal now receives through the begging bowl. Therefore, I have a right to know how much the West Bengal government spent on the Eden Gardens tamasha. No one gives me an answer to that. More importantly, few people in West Bengal seem to find this a relevant question.

Since when has KKR become equated with West Bengal’s success? SRK being a brand ambassador is one thing, but what is ‘officially’ Bengal about KKR? Has West Bengal government bought equity into the franchise? To start off with, I didn’t have much respect for the West Bengal Cabinet. Whatever respect existed, has vanished in the last 1 year. But why did the Governor agree to shake a leg at the event? National media, print and electronic, has carried pictures and images of the event.

But those were from inside the stadium, where there were an estimated 75,000 people. However, there were another 25,000 who couldn’t get in and were lathi charged. Such collateral damage is perhaps inevitable when such an event is organized at such short notice. But I have been wondering about those images, carried on Bengali electronic media. Blood-splattered, with tears in their eyes. These weren’t the glitterati.

These were ordinary people. Didn’t they have anything better to do? Why has happiness for them been reduced to KKR and IPL? Is there no other source of happiness? Has paribartan not meant greater economic opportuntites? These are rhetorical questions, certain to be branded as Maoist ones.

The bottom line is a simple one. All paribartan in West Bengal has been reduced to symbols and nothing more. The only part that is real and is not a symbol is the begging bowl. Let’s also make that begging bowl a symbol.

  41. SRK: The case of the imploding mega-star

    http://www.firstpost.com/bollywood/srk-the-case-of-the-imploding-mega-star-325903.html

Out there in the cosmos, stars that shine much brighter than the sun die a spectacular death caused by their heavy hearts. Their core has such great mass, that gravity fuses gases into successively weightier elements. Sulfur, magnesium, silicon… and finally iron.

Iron at the core means death for a star. The energy consumed in fusing elements into iron is greater than the energy released in the fusion process. With no energy radiating outwards, the gravity of the iron at its centre makes the rest of the star collapse onto itself at tremendous velocities. As one science website puts it: “the star starts consuming itself from inside out.”

Are these the kind of cosmic forces that are causing the implosion of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan? You could say so. Just replace iron with a fusion of ‘ego’ and (a) ‘sense of entitlement’.

Like the healthiest stars in space, the early Shah Rukh Khan had a luminosity whose source was levity at the core. He never seemed to take himself too seriously. Had a sense of mischief, and an effervescent, unscripted wit. Once, early-ish in his career, when he was told he had only five expressions in his repertoire, he laughed and said: “the others have four.” Once, he had cleverly (and sincerely) said: “I would rather have peace of mind, than a piece of ass.”

Once. That time has well and truly passed. The year gone by has seen the hardening of the core (and perhaps a heavyness of the heart) that seems to move the superstar inexorably towards the fate that the greatest bodies in cosmos must face some day.

His behaviour in public is a symptom. Where once he ducked and weaved expertly, smiling at his adversary in the face of provocation, he now thrusts a jab (or slap). In January, his one-time friend and industry colleague (the irritating) Shirish Kunder felt one. Kunder hadn’t been kind in a tweet about Khan’s big project, Ra.One.

Recently, SRK got involved in a brawl with the security staff at the Wankhede stadium. He claimed that his wards were manhandled, so he lost his cool. But how appropriate is it to let fly all those ma behenkis and threaten to kill people in the presence of children? AFP

Recently, at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium he got involved in an ugly scene with the police. He claimed (and there may be some truth in this) that his wards were manhandled, so he lost his cool. But how appropriate is it to let fly all those ma behenkisand threaten to kill people in the presence of children under your charge?

His work in recent times should be a source of further disappointment to him. But the sense of entitlement that tells him anything he does will work well, is capable of turning the argument around in his head when it doesn’t: ‘if they don’t like it, then they’re the fools’.

His films have hardly matched their hype. As for his television appearances, there have been some lamentable lows. The worst of them being a poorly scripted, juvenile ‘comic action’ show (where people are hit with large soft objects and have embarrassing falls) called Zor ka Jhatka. As the failures fused into one another, the core seemed to become denser.

And what of the heavy heart? After nearly two decades in the business, the first serious rumours of an SRK affair made ripples that would not die down. The lady in question is Priyanka Chopra. The tabloids feasted on the story: it didn’t help that the two were photographed together at 3 am, and their security details tried and failed to apprehend the brave photographer.

In Bollywood, such a thing affects the work of the lesser star and the home of the superstar. From invites to parties, to getting work, Ms Chopra was having a bit of a hard time. She fed the tabloids a juicy morsel. Speaking in the deniable third person (“thunders a close friend and associate…”) she spoke derisively of insecure star wives.

India got its clearest view of the aggrieved party, Shah Rukh’s wife Gauri, on the night of the IPL final. His franchise had won, but SRK made a pathetic spectacle of himself. He clarified that he wasn’t drunk (if not, then what?), offered belated apologies. Surrounded by the shield of his children, he tried to get Gauri to dance the dance of the happy family for TV—and failed. Her body language spoke clearly and scathingly that night.

What remained was the sight of a star consuming itself from inside out.

    http://zeenews.india.com/sports/blogs/34/blog198.html

f you needed any proof of the cringe making vulgarity that is the IPL look no further than the joint spectacle of Mamata Banerjee and Shahrukh Khan, as the two put up a Bonnie and Clyde celebration.

It seemed as if India had won the World Cup or got 100 medals in the Olympics – but since the word Kolkata would not be involved, kolaveri didi would not care.

We were earlier treated to the unedifying sight of a 47-year old superstar seemingly in the throes of a mid- life crisis flashing his black underwear while he turned cartwheels. Today the duo, along with several motley cricketers for hire, turned cricket in to a Roman circus.

Till date we have had spot fixing, molestation, sexism and a brawl. Familiar ground for both Banerjee and Khan.

But, to see the governor of Bengal – former spook – M K Narayanan with a poker face felicitate a private leagues victory was a sorry spectacle. A bit like Shahrukh Khan descending from the silver screen to play Hanuman in the neighbourhood Ramayana.

Since both bread and power is in short supply in West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee decided to turn the IPL in to a state branch of the Trinamool Congress complete with a ritual lathi charge.

  45. Yeh IPL hai boss!

Chennai Super Kings have finally lost, the recent controversies have finally taken a backseat, Poonam Pandey – who threatens to turn Twitter into Orkut at all costs – has finally stripped and Mamta Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress has finally managed to lift the cup.

Let’s rejoice — the IPL has finally struck back and how!

The US of A has Apple and Coke. Swiss have watches. The French can boast of wine. United Kingdom has the Queen. Given India’s penchant for global recognition, what had we given the world until the IPL happened? Brand finance finally has an Indian chapter that isn’t just a footnote mentioning Infosys and Tatas. The IPL has caught everyone’s imagination, has become our saving grace.

Let’s not spoil this moment of success (can’t say Citi Moment of Success because I’m not paid to do so) by raking up unnecessary past issues like match-fixing, harassing women in after-parties, insulting them the next day morning, discussing brawls that happen in cricket stadiums, innocent young boys and girls attending rave parties and asking authorities like ED and IT about where they’ve reached with their investigations.

Let us look at the brighter side and debate if the time has come for Sunny Leone to give Poonam Pandey a run for her money off the field and how Preity Zinta has to now gather all the support she can from Bollywood to snatch the cup from Shahrukh next year. There’s so much to look forward to.

The IPL has also done a lot for the political and cultural fabric of this country. In 2008, the tournament’s inaugural year, it allowed Congress to return to power in Rajasthan, opening a pandora’s box to the series of allegations that rocked BJP in the state. In 2009, it was the IPL that ensured peaceful Lok Sabha elections by deciding to shift out of the country. In 2010, it gave the Telangana Rashtriya Samiti the much-needed impetus to demand a separate state which in turn forced BCCI to shift matches out of Hyderabad and centre to consider it a national crisis. In 2011, the IPL fought corruption allegations which in turn proved to be a shot in the arm for the Anna Hazare movement, underlining why it was important to have the Lokpal bill passed. In 2012, it saved the central government from falling by shifting Mamta’s focus in Bengal from petrol and Maobadis to cricket and the eventual victory.

It is appalling how critics only look at negatives. In fact, it gives PA Sangma another good reason to pitch himself as the next Presidential candidate considering that the northeast has been completely ignored by the IPL. In Kerala, now that chief minister Oomen Chandy has been forced to relent on the Mullaiperiyar dam issue, taking up the IPL cause and once again reigniting the debate to bring back the Kochi franchise is very much possible.

I’m already looking forward to IPL 6! It’ll be the last year of current UPA government before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and it won’t be a surprise if Rahul Gandhi’s very own Rae Bareilly, Narendra Modi’s beloved Bharuch, the RSS high-command in Nagpur, Muthalik’s Ram Sene in Mysore and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Patna don’t pitch for their share of IPL matches, or maybe even a franchise.

India had to wait for 29 years to win the World Cup again. Kolkata’s Tuesday celebrations showed how to do it in less than a year. Those who think the IPL’s popular overseas just because it keeps trending on Twitter need to think again.

Australia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have started their own Twenty20 leagues. England don’t want to admit but they’re equally desperate to have their own similar league. South Africa and West Indies are more than eager to participate where India wants them to. Pakistan is just happy that they’ve been invited for the next IPL. The world has taken notice and sky is now the limit for this tournament that cuts across the length and breadth of this country like nothing else.

Lalit Modi is bang on target when he says: Yeh IPL Hai Boss!

    • I’d say two things here. First off the man has a right to be happy when his team wins. Wouldn’t call the IPL nothing though it’s true that of all the possible IPLs SRK could have won this was the worst one as interest/ratings have been lowest here by far. But yes where you are right is that with SRK everything becomes a cynical opportunity to milk things far beyond what normal ‘marketing’ would call for. In others even by the hyper-mediatized standards of today SRK goes overboard. But here he also needed to change the topic after the Wankhede episode (where in my view no one really believes his version). But leaving this aside I wouldn’t fault him for celebrating a win.

All of this though is an index to a larger problem. Bachchan said the other day that SRK had once told Abhishek that if he ever required any help with marketing he should contact him (SRK) as he knew how to do this very well. SRK has always been about marketing. Which is to an extent understandable in this age. The problem is he often thinks it is ‘only’ about marketing and to this degree it’s not surprising that when he’s needed reinvention once again he’s only gone in for the ‘marketing’ solution. This doesn’t solve every problem. Just as when SRK was on top it wasn’t again just marketing. sure he had his buddies doing all the puff pieces, inflating the numbers and what not but the underlying reality nonetheless was that his kind of cinema was being loved more than any other kind. With marketing this reality could be exaggerated and so forth but this is different from thinking this is all that’s required. In a sense what also happens is that in a hyper-mediatized age people make increasingly cynical films and what not and one could be forgiven for thinking that Golmaal or Houseful or Ready aren’t exactly about substance and fine cinema. They’re not of course but they are about something ‘specific’ nonetheless. They’re silly, empty films perhaps but they say something about the choices of a culture. And it takes more than a marketing ‘override’.

All in all though SRK’s problem has forever been that he takes even the positive moment and treats it completely cynically even by the normal cynical marketing standards. His fans then come and attack Aamir for his show or some of his other stuff. It takes some cheek to do this not to mention delusion!

These OTT celebrations and seizing the opportunity to celebrate KKR’s win have been turning people off, even some of his hardcore fan base. To me it seems he’s digging his own grave by having the media cover each n every of his dance move even if its just a celebration!

He can make things up anytime he wants by signing good films. He might still have some good directors ready to take him outside of the YRF / Johar camp but he dodges opportunities like these, to go for, for some strange reason, marketing himself through such tamasha

“whole media and fans are making it like winning a silly ipl tournament is a super big achievement. Laughable!!! Its like winning a filmfare or iifa”

Achievement is a relative term. Did any of the KKR fans who is Indian told u that it’s bigger than world cup win? Did the whole india or the indian media celebrated the win like the world cup win?

Now there may a person from Bangladesh who is a SRK fan and also Shakib al hasan fan. For him it must be bigger than India’s world cup win.

“Its like winning a filmfare or iifa”

LOL..Now u urself read at this comparison and can laugh about it…

Don’t compare IPL with anything. It’s a new thing in India and it will take time for you to understand it. IPL is IPL. With KKR’s IPL win KKR fans are happy and we are not saying it’s bigger than that and smaller than this etc.

“After a few days, all this will be as hollow as some of his so called hit movies. Nothing to remember!!!”

Have you ever celebrated some thing? Do you remember those occasions or forget after that? It’s SRK and his Fans and KKR fans who are going to remember these things for years. U can forget it no problem. We are gifted with good memory power to remember these things and also we have internet to remind us in future.
